Jason Kelce Addresses Retirement Speculation ... Too Emotional After Loss
Jason Kelce isn't ready to officially announce he's walking away from his Hall of Fame career just yet -- the Philadelphia Eagles star elected not to confirm whether he will hand in his retirement papers ... this after reports he told his teammates it was a done deal.
The 36-year-old Super Bowl champ addressed his NFL future in the latest episode of his "New Heights" podcast with his brother and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis on Wednesday ... and he explained he was really in his feels after his team was booted from the playoffs at the hands of Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"I just don't think you're in a position after a game like that to really make that decision," Jason told Taylor Swift's boyfriend.
The All-Pro center said he isn't trying to keep people on the edge of their seats with his vagueness ... but admitted he wasn't in the right mind space to reach a conclusion following the loss.
Jason Kelce Reportedly Tells Teammates He's Retiring After Eagles' Loss
"There's too much emotion in the moment. There's too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision."
Jason was adamant he isn't trying to be "dramatic" ... adding, "It's just something that I think, when it's time to officially announce what's happening in the future, it'll be done in a way that's definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career I've had."
Jason was super emotional talking about his conversation with the Eagles' locker room after the game ... saying he told the players to embrace every moment.
It certainly sounds like we may very well have seen the end of #62 on the field ... but Philly fans will have to wait just a bit longer to find out whether it's really the end of an era.

Matthew Perry Why 'Friends' Skipped Emmys ... 'Too Soon,' Producer Says
The "Friends" cast wasn't at the Emmys Monday night to honor the late Matthew Perry ... and now we know why they bailed.
Emmy producers are now explaining that while Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer all bagged an invite, they opted not to come together onstage ... cause it was just too soon after Matthew's sudden death in October.
Emmy's EP Jesse Collins tells The Hollywood Reporter he totally gets it from their POV -- they're mourning someone they were very close to for years.
He says while they can't speak on their behalf, they must respect that the "Friends" cast was their own little family.
Matthew was the last person to appear on screen during the Emmys' in memoriam segment honoring fallen stars .... with singer Charlie Puth transitioning from "See You Again" to a stripped-back version of the "Friends" theme song, "I'll Be There for You."
TMZ broke the story ... Matthew was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28 after playing 2 hours of pickleball at Riviera Country Club near his home in Pacific Palisades. First responders rushed to the property on a cardiac arrest call, and he was declared deceased on the scene after an apparent drowning.
The L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office released the toxicology report in December ... he died from "the acute effects of ketamine," a drug used to treat depression and is also used as a recreational drug.
11/3/23
Matthew's "Friends" costars attended his funeral on Nov. 3.

TINA FEY COULD EASILY TAKE OVER 'SNL' ... SAYS LORNE MICHAELS
Tina Fey may soon make her grand return to "Saturday Night Light" as head honcho ... well, that's if Lorne Michaels has anything to do with it.
The show's longtime executive producer said Tina could easily take over the reins when he inevitably retires -- though speaking at the Emmys red carpet Sunday, he said nothing's set in stone cause other people were also in the running.
Lorne clearly has a soft spot for Tina ... praising her as brilliant and great at everything she does ... adding she's a very important person in his life.
The 79-year-old co-created the iconic comedy sketch show in 1975 ... and he plans to hold onto his legacy for another year -- staying on until at least the show's 50th anniversary next year.
Tina kicked off her 'SNL' career in 1997 as a writer ... later promoted to head writer in 1999 and then became a cast member in 2000 ... leaving six years later to write and star in "30 Rock."
Meanwhile, Tina fans did get to see her back in her 'SNL' roots alongside Amy Poehler ... the pair reviving the show's iconic "Weekend Update" segment for the Emmys -- a great moment resulting from two competing networks coming together.
We broke the story ... sources told us that Emmys producers over at Fox approached NBC's 'SNL' peeps to make the throwback moment happen.
Following the reaction to the segment ... we can only hope it signals NBC bosses to bring Tina back for the reunion special next year, too!

Pierce Brosnan I Didn't Take The Road Less Traveled ... Pleads Not Guilty To Hiking Charges
Pierce Brosnan's not caving to the federal government ... fighting two charges he hiked into a restricted area at Yellowstone National Park.
The actor entered a not guilty plea for two illegal hiking charges on January 4 after he was cited for allegedly wandering into a "delicate" hot springs at the park in Wyoming.
The judge granted PB's request to cancel his initial court appearance and set up a virtual conference for February 20.
As we previously reported ... authorities cited 007 last month for allegedly going off-trail near Mammoth Hot Springs on November 1 -- violating several closures.
The proof seems to be in the pics here too ... Brosnan appears to have forgotten his lessons in spy secrecy, posting photos that look like they're from the off-limits area. He was up in Wyoming filming his new Western "The Unholy Trinity."
The hot springs are off-limits to tourists for a reason ... they're super fragile and can take years to correct if damaged -- not to mention the people who have died from falling into the boiling/acidic springs
Colin Nathaniel Scott is just one example ... authorities think he dissolved in the pool waters -- only slightly higher on the pH scale than stomach acid -- after venturing off-trail in 2015.
If found guilty, Pierce might see a $5,000 fine ... or even six months of hard time.
James Bond might have a license to kill, but even he's gotta stay on the designated trails!
We covered it all on the latest episode of The TMZ Podcast, available on all podcast platforms.

UPDATE
The Colts released a statement on Jim Irsay's health ... saying he is still recovering from his "respiratory illness."
"We will have no further comment on his personal health, and we continue to ask that Jim and his family's privacy be respected."
Jim Irsay was found laying in his bed unresponsive, cold to the touch and gasping for air during a suspected overdose in December ... this according to police in Indiana.
Carmel Police Department documents, obtained by TMZ Sports, show cops were dispatched to Irsay's Carmel residence on Dec. 8 at around 4:30 AM ... after someone said they had found the Indianapolis Colts owner unconscious on a bathroom floor with a blue skin tone.
When police first arrived on the scene, they say Irsay had been moved to his bed ... where he was struggling to breathe and had a weak pulse and constricted pupils.
Police say in the docs an attempt to wake him with a sternum rub was unsuccessful. They added, though, that after administering one dosage of Narcan -- a drug commonly used to revive people in opiate overdose situations -- "he responded slightly."
Cops say they were prepared to attach an AED to Irsay -- but paramedics arrived and "took over lifesaving efforts." Irsay was eventually transported to a nearby hospital via an ambulance.
Officers noted in the documents that a caretaker provided them a list of the medications Irsay had been taking ... though they wrote in the report, "At this time, it is unknown what Mr. Irsay had ingested prior to our arrival." They classified the incident in the docs as both "overdose" and "overdose/poisoning."
Irsay had not been seen around his Colts' team in the weeks following the incident ... and on Jan. 9, the team announced he'd been dealing with a "severe respiratory illness." The Colts explained in a statement that he would miss a scheduled appearance in Los Angeles with his "Jim Irsay Band" while receiving treatment for the ailment.
"He is receiving excellent care and looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible," the Colts said. "We'll have no additional information at this time and we ask that you respect the privacy of Jim and his family as he recovers."
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is grateful to be alive after years of addiction nearly destroyed him. In his first in-depth interview, Irsay details his painful journey with our @Andrea_Kremer. The new episode of #RealSports streams tomorrow, only on @streamonmax. pic.twitter.com/TQ2Tq2Vcle
— Real Sports (@RealSportsHBO) November 20, 2023 @RealSportsHBO
We do not know if Irsay's recent hospitalization is related to the December incident at his home.
Irsay -- who's been the owner of the Colts since 1997 -- said in an interview with Andrea Kremer back in November, he's battled addiction to alcohol and pain pills during his life, requiring at least 15 trips to rehab. He also told Kremer he previously suffered an overdose after he "was trying to detox myself."
"All of a sudden I started slurring my words and then code blue, I stopped breathing," he told Kremer of the OD. "And they revived me, and the doctor goes, 'Jim, you're one lucky man because I had signed, virtually, the death certificate.'"
We've reached out to Irsay, but no word back yet.

Nicole Kidman Too Tall For Hollywood ... Used to Lie About Height
Nicole Kidman says size matters ... at least she used to think so when she went in for auditions.
The Oscar winner shared she used to lie about her height during a recent interview with the "Radio Times Podcast" ... admitting she'd shave a half-inch off her stats when casting directors asked.
NK says despite being 5'11" she used to tell CDs she was 5'10" and a half ... not much of a difference, but a lie nonetheless.
The Australian star says people called her "stalky" when she first arrived on the acting scene, and was told a tall woman like her wouldn't have a career.
However, that's changed in recent years with Kidman saying, "Now, I get, ‘You’re so much taller than I thought,' or men grappling with how high my heels should be."
Another interesting anecdote ... NK was nearly turned away from an audition for the musical "Annie" when she was a kid, because she was 2 inches above the 5'2" cutoff line.
Kidman says she's trying to impart courage and resilience to her kids -- she has 2 with Tom Cruise and 2 with Keith Urban -- teaching them how to react when they hear the word "no."
You know the age-old adage ... if at first you don't succeed in Hollywood -- lie, lie again.

Niecy won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an anthology series, and her powerful acceptance speech prompted a standing ovation ... with Niecy saying, "I accept this award on behalf of every Black and Brown woman who have gone unheard, yet overpoliced, like Glenda Cleveland, like Sandra Bland, like Breonna Taylor!”
Breonna's mother, Tamika Palmer, tells TMZ … it's "amazing" Niecy used her big moment to "acknowledge women, including my daughter, who have tragically fallen victim to police brutality."
Niecy also told the Emmys audience she feels it's her responsibility as an artist to speak truth to power, and she plans to do so until the day she dies.

Taylor Swift She's Not Secret 'Argylle' Writer!!! Director Debunks Theory
Taylor Swift fans have been convinced that their idol wrote the book that's being made into the "Argylle" movie -- but the director's throwing cold water on their hopes and dreams.
Matthew Vaughn recently did an interview where he addressed this rumor/theory that's been floating around for almost 3 years now -- namely, that T-Swift is the mysterious author who penned the manuscript for "Argylle" ... which is being made into a film of the same name.
The writer goes under the pseudonym of "Elly Conway" -- the same name of the main character in the flick -- and her real identity hasn't been revealed whatsoever. So, Swifties have been eating up perceived Easter eggs that they think point to Taylor (more on this in a bit).
Unfortunately for them, Vaughn's now saying it's all BS -- telling Rolling Stone ... "I'm not a big internet guy, and it was actually my daughter who came up to me -- this is the power of celebrity and the internet -- and said, 'You never told me Taylor wrote the book!'"
He adds, "And I’m looking at her going, ‘What are you talking about Taylor Swift wrote the book? She didn’t write the book!’ And I was laughing because I was like, ‘It’s not true! She didn’t write the book!’ But my daughter was convinced of it."
MV then says much more definitively ... "[T]here is an Elly Conway who wrote the book, but it’s not Taylor Swift. And I say that because I imagine Taylor Swift has a load of people trying to jump on her bandwagon left, right, and center. I don’t want to be a part of that club. I did read the conspiracies and I was like, ‘Wow, they don’t leave a stone unturned!’ But it’s not Taylor Swift. She definitely didn’t write the book."
Part of the reason Taylor's legion thought she might've been the author is because of all these subtle things they thought referred to her -- including the Scottish Fold cat featured (she has 2 herself), the fact she wears argyle sweaters, and other "hints" fans picked up on.
As it turns out, it's nothing but their very active imagination at work. Keep it movin', folks!
'Rust' Case Armorer Allegedly Offered Leniency If She Explained Real Bullet
The armorer that's being prosecuted in the "Rust" criminal case was reportedly offered an ultimatum of sorts -- tell us how a real bullet made its way on set, or face more charges.
Variety cites emails that it says it's viewed -- which were supposedly sent to Hannah Gutierrez-Reed's legal team back in September from special prosecutor Kari Morrissey ... who's heading up the case after the D.A. recused herself.
According to the outlet -- which cites the emails that were allegedly sent -- Morrissey wrote ... "I feel very strongly she has some notion of how the live rounds came on set."
She adds, "I certainly respect her right not to come forward with that information and to stay silent, however if she were to come forward and answer some of these questions that plague the victims in this case that would go a long way toward getting her a favorable resolution."
Variety says the emails go on to float what Gutierrez-Reed's lawyers perceived as a threat ... "If she chooses not to, while I respect her decision, I will proceed with the additional felony charges we spoke of." Mind you, HGR has already said she doesn't know how a live round got into the gun that was used that day by Alec Baldwin, let alone how it got onto set.
In response to this offer, her team invoked their client's right against self-incrimination -- and lo and behold ... Gutierrez-Reed was, in fact, hit with more charges shortly thereafter.
She was accused of carrying a gun into a liquor store about 10 days after the shooting ... a 4th-degree felony. Gutierrez-Reed is already facing involuntary manslaughter charges.
Now, her team has filed new docs asking that new charge to be dismissed -- claiming it was filed in retaliation for her not cooperating ... or as he puts it, for not making something up. She's pled not guilty to the charges against her, and has a trial set to start in February.

'Stranger Things' Brett Gelman Noah Didn't Need To Apologize For Views On Israel, Hamas ... I Too Think Zionism Is Sexy
-
Exclusive
Brett Gelman doesn't see anything in Netflix costar Noah Schnapp's views on Israel that warrants an apology ... and he's not afraid to speak his mind about what's going on in Gaza.
We got the "Stranger Things" star at LAX and our photog asked him about Noah sharing a video restating his position on the Israel-Hamas War.
Brett says he actually liked the viral photos of Noah with stickers reading "Zionism is sexy" and agreed with Noah calling out Hamas as a terrorist organization.
BG goes even further ... telling us anyone who is not pro-Israel is consciously or subconsciously being antisemitic.
To be clear, Brett says he's not blindly for everything that's going on in Israel, acknowledging there are some issues just as there are in every country and telling us he's not a fan of Benjamin Netanyahu ... but Brett says he supports Israel and the Israeli people.
Brett says Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas attacks ... he says he's been over to Israel recently and there are still being rockets launched by Hamas, who he also accuses of using civilians as human shields.
Noah's message was about unity, hope and peace ... and Brett says he's staunchly against the death of innocent Palestinians, but wonders why those deaths are being blamed on Israel and not Hamas.
It's rare to see a celebrity being so open about the Middle East these days ... but Brett's not shying away.
Bottom line for Brett ... everyone in Israel wants peace, and they aren't the ones who started this war.

Aubrey O'Day Dan Benson Slams Her for MLK Stunt ... Time and Place, Aubrey!!!
-
Exclusive
- 1.4K shares
Disney Channel actor turned OnlyFans model Dan Benson is ripping Aubrey O'Day for exploiting MLK Day to plug her OF page -- a move he calls super disrespectful, especially for a white woman.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum tells TMZ ... controversy is often the name of the game for content creators looking to attract new subscribers to their OF pages. He's not naive, but adds there's still a time and a place -- and MLK Day ain't it!
As we reported, Aubrey used the holiday by posting a series of thirst trap photos and videos Monday ... right alongside a famous, and poignant, quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. -- "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
Maybe Aubrey should've taken that quote to heart more. Dan says Aubrey should have taken MLK Day off from her OF work, and used the time to reflect.
Instead of using Dr. King to promote her OnlyFans, Dan suggests Aubrey should have donated some of her OF revenue to a good cause.
Of course, Dan's in the OF game too, and fully understands creators' drive to boost numbers -- but he says when the "thirst trapping" goes as hard as Aubrey's stunt, it deserves to be called out.
And, we all know the internet's undefeated at that.

Gwen Stefani & No Doubt Guys, We Should Do a Show How 'Bout Coachella?!?
-
Breaking News
- 7.4K shares
Gwen Stefani and the rest of the members of No Doubt are getting together again after a good long while -- and they're it in the desert ... headlining Coachella, no less.
The lineup for the annual music festival just dropped, and while there are 3 big acts slated to perform Fri-Sun on 2 different weekends ... it looks like Gwen and co. will be the real talent -- 'cause they're being listed as a general, all-around headliner ... with no specific dates.
Goldenvoice has Lana Del Rey performing on Friday April 12th and 19th; Tyler the Creator will handle headlining duties on Saturday April 13th and 20th; and Doja Cat will do Sunday.
But, take a look at the bottom of this poster, it just reads ... "And ... No Doubt." Again, no clarity on what that means or which day the band might do their thing -- it's a mystery.
— No Doubt (@nodoubt) January 16, 2024 @nodoubt
Funny enough, ND actually teased this about an hour before Coachella dropped the lineup -- teasing the fact they were itching to get together again and "do a show." It's a fun, somewhat produced clip that features Gwen, Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and Adrian Young hopping onto a group chat and then a Zoom ... where they kicked around the idea of performing.
As it turns out, they're gonna be making a splash with their big comeback gig -- hitting the stage on possibly the biggest platform in music ... performing in front of thousands of people.
No Doubt hasn't performed as a group in a while -- in fact, the last time they hit the stage together in an official capacity was in 2015 during that year's Global Citizen Earth Day Concert in D.C. Since then, they haven't really rocked out as a unit.
Now, fans will get a chance to see 'em live ... and get underneath it all in person. Sweet!
We covered it all on the latest episode of The TMZ Podcast, available on all podcast platforms.
