Kevin Conroy Knew Video Game Batman Would Die ... Still Gave It His All!!!

Published

Kevin Conroy fans are fuming over Batman's death in a new video game, but the voice behind the Caped Crusader knew the hero's fate ... and gave the role everything he had.

The late actor's publicist, Gary Miereanu, tells TMZ ... Kevin performed his Batman lines in "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" with "the same verve with which he approached every Batman role, always being faithful to the words on the page and the direction from the other side of the glass."

Kevin recorded his lines for the dying Batman before his own passing in 2022 ... and some fans feel the video game death is a disrespectful way to leave Conroy's legacy as the Dark Knight.

But Kevin's rep doesn't see it that way ... telling us, "I'm also certain that, while recording, Kevin’s own death never entered his mind."

Another Batman voice actor, Jason O'Mara, tells TMZ ... Bruce Wayne's going to come back in some way, shape, or form in a different story, just like Superman and many other beloved characters.

Jason is sure Kevin knew the script called for Batman to die, and says ... "No matter the scenario, he never let any Batman fan down."

Since the initial fan outrage, it's been revealed there's at least one more performance of Kevin as Batman the vault.

Jason says Kevin probably knew this wouldn't be his last ride as Batman, and fans will have reason to enjoy and celebrate his next performance.

Patrick Mahomes Teammate Justin Reid Raves Over QB ... 'Probably The Best Player In NFL History'

Published | Updated

Move over, Tom Brady ... Patrick Mahomes' teammate, Justin Reid, says the Chiefs star is making a real-deal run at the NFL's GOAT title!!

In fact, the Kansas City defensive back tells TMZ Sports his quarterback might already have supplanted TB12 for the honor!!

"The guy is a Hall of Famer," Reid said of Mahomes. "First ballot. Probably the best player in NFL history. And he just keeps getting better."

Reid gushed over Mahomes just days after the 28-year-old signal-caller helped the Chiefs beat the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game ... saying point blank he and his squadmates never think they're out of a game as long as Mahomes is under center.

"You can be down 24," he told us. "You can be up 15. Whatever it is -- as long as Fifteen has the ball in his hands, you know you've got a shot to win."

Reid obviously has a little bias -- after all, Mahomes might help earn his second Super Bowl ring next week -- but he might not be wrong.

Pat is about to make his FOURTH trip to the Super Bowl in his sixth season as a starter -- and with two MVPs and six Pro Bowl honors already on his resume ... he'd almost certainly have a bust in Canton in five years if he retired following next week's big game.

Reid also had a bunch of other complimentary things to say about his team ... including kind words for his defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo.

Reid said the assistant coach "really cares" about his players ... and he loves him so much, he's actually created "In Spags We Trust" tees, which he's selling for a good cause.

We also chatted with Reid about K.C.'s upcoming opponent, the 49ers ... as well as his relationship with his former Stanford teammate, Christian McCaffrey -- and it isn't hard to see he's expecting a helluva game in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.

TMZ TV Recap Courtney Clenney's Parents Arrested Trump's 'Holy War,' Brady's Footballs

Published | Updated

We just got past Hump Day here at TMZ, and now -- we're in the final stretch of the week ... but that doesn't mean we're letting up on the gas for the stories we cover on TV.

TMZ Live

On 'TMZ Live' Wednesday, we talked about the shocking arrests of Courtney Clenney's parents in Texas -- who've been knee-deep in her murder case ... perhaps too much so, according to prosecutors.

Take a listen to hear all about why they got busted, and what the authorities in Florida are alleging her folks did in an effort to clear their daughter's name ... it's absolutely wild.

TMZ on TV

Things were just as bumpy on on 'TMZ on TV,' where the gang dove into this supposed "holy war" that Donald Trump and his cronies are reportedly ready to wage against Taylor Swift.

It might sound kinda funny, but based on the reports out there about this -- DT and co. are definitely not laughing ... and they seem set to go to the mat ahead of the 2024 election.

TMZ Sports

On 'TMZ Sports,' Michael and Mojo covered this neat new auction that's hawking some footballs Tom Brady once threw for Super Bowl glory. Take a guess on how much they could fetch ... it's a lot!

Grammy Winner Huey Lewis 'Memba Him?!

Published

American artist Huey Lewis was 35 years old when he and his band, Huey Lewis And The News,  took home the Grammy for their hit song "The Heart Of Rock N' Roll" back in 1986.

This song wasn't the band's first track to hit the top of the charts ... "The Power Of Love" was such a banger it was featured on the iconic 1985 movie "Back To The Future" -- with Huey making his megaphone cameo.

Lewis has recently resurfaced with Netflix's recent drop, "The Greatest Night in Pop" -- a deep dive into the making of "We Are The World" ... the 1985 charity single featuring Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner and many more legendary stars!

Guess what he looks like now!

Leonardo DiCaprio Filming Diner Scene w/ Regina Hall ... Open to the Public???

Published | Updated

Leonardo DiCaprio's all-in on Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie ... shooting in NorCal for the second day in a row -- and working alongside another uber-talented star.

TMZ has obtained video and photos of Leo out at a restaurant Tuesday afternoon opposite "Scary Movie" legend Regina Hall and a younger, unknown actress ... and it looked like he brought some cool confidence to the scene.

Check out the vid -- looks like PTA is giving the Oscar winner some notes while he's chowing down. He's clearly keeping calm -- although we're sure a regular patron or two might've flipped out! The reason we say that ... this appears to have been filmed out in the open.

Eyewitnesses tell us the production team didn't fully shut down the establishment for this shoot -- and, instead, pulled an old H'Wood budget-saving move by allowing regular business to flow while they only took up a few booths to film the scene. That's what's being claimed anyway ... and we'll say this, it sure looks like normies might've been hovering around.

Leo and Regina Hall grabbing lunch together??? Definitely a shock if you happened to be passing through his restaurant. To be fair, PTA's sorta known for his low-budget, indie filmmaking ... even if Leo's normally used to more luxurious catering and a slightly larger budget -- not to mention a much more closed set than what appears to be going on here.

Also worth noting ... all these pics and videos of Leo filming are low-key giving away a lot of clues about the film's story. To be clear, we don't officially know anything about the plot yet ... but if this doesn't look like some sort of family outing, we don't know what does!

grave_injustice_kal
TMZ INVESTIGATES

Anyway, just another day on the job for Leo. We broke the story ... LDC was filming in the same small little NorCal town Monday as well, though that scene was a bit more frantic.

Leo was in full-blown costume and makeup Monday in a dirty-looking trench coat and disheveled beard -- definitely appearing worse for wear while cop cars seemingly chased him down.

The untitled flick doesn't have a release date yet or much more in the way of details ... but we do know Sean Penn's in it -- and it seems only a matter of time before he's spotted too.

Here's hoping the whole movie doesn't come out through leaks before it officially releases. At this rate, it looks like anyone who's hanging around can get an eyeful and then some. 😅

Kanye West Rehearsing With Travis Scott ... Performing Together?!?

Published | Updated

update

8:45 AM PT -- Turns out, Kanye made it to the show ... and he was wearing that Jason mask too.

The question ... was he slicing and dicing on the mic??? 😅

Kanye West and Travis Scott appear poised to take the stage together tonight at Travis' Orlando concert ... and Kanye's got a wild look that would make Jason Voorhees blush.

Travis is due to perform Wednesday night at the Kia Center in Orlando as part of his Circus Maximus tour -- and videos from the venue appear to show Kanye rehearsing some songs on stage ... which has a lot of people buzzing about a potential performance tonight.

There are different reports of sightings of Ye flying in and touching down in FL from Los Angeles earlier today ... and he even posted a photo on his Instagram story showing him wearing an old-school hockey mask.

Check it out ... looks like Kanye is channeling some serious Camp Crystal Lake vibes.

Not only did Ye post shots of himself at the airport -- with some fans swarming him for autographs as he walked through -- but he also threw up a clean shot of the mask itself.

Considering his affinity for face coverings in recent years ... maybe this is his new fave.

Anyway, it's unclear if Yeezy is going to rock this particular mask on stage with Travis -- assuming he gets up there at all, 'cause you just never know with KW -- but he's definitely got the internet going wild, and drumming up a bunch of interest.

Travis has mostly been performing his latest studio album, "Utopia," on tour as of late -- and previously brought out Drake at a tour stop in Canada ... performing one of their collabs from the album.

FWIW, Kanye is not featured on ''Utopia" but he's recorded several songs with Travis over the years ... and when Travis performed in Rome back in August on the heels of the album release, Yeezy joined him on stage. In other words, a surprise pop-in ain't outta the question.

We should also note ... TS himself is leaning into the possibility of hitting the stage with him at some point tonight -- so all signs point to this happening fairly soon.

If it does come to pass, it'll be interesting to see what they're cooking up for the Orlando crowd. By the same token, you gotta wonder how Travis's fans might receive Ye.

Seth MacFarlane says "Family Guy" is still chugging along a quarter century after it first aired ... and the show's not ending any time soon.

The "Family Guy" creator reflected on his wildly successful animated series on the 25th anniversary of its FOX debut ... revealing the secret to the show's longevity, and what's in store moving forward.

In an interview with The Wrap, Seth says 'FG' is "still surviving and thriving" with a sizeable audience who enjoys what he and his writing team keep cranking out.

FOX renewed "Family Guy" in January 2023 for 2 more seasons ... and Seth says, "There's no indication that the show is going to end anytime soon."

Seth's creation first aired way back on Jan. 31, 1999 ... and he admits it feels "strange" to reach the anniversary milestone.

Seth's show returns for season 23 at 9:30 PM March 6 on FOX ... and it sounds like this won't be its last hurrah.

Courtney Clenney Parents Released from Jail on Bond ... Must Surrender in March

Published

Courtney Clenney's parents are now out of custody after being arrested on a warrant out of Florida -- but their brush with the law isn't over ... they have to turn themselves in eventually.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Kim and Deborah Clenney were released from jail Wednesday on bond, and they're back home in Austin now -- this after their legal team was able to step in and make a case in front of a judge.

The problem ... they're far from out of the woods in this matter -- namely, we're told they're due to surrender to authorities in Miami by or before March 1 ... as the warrant that got them hauled in in the first place is still active as of now.

When they eventually surrender ... our sources say the Clenneys will have to post another bond to be released again -- about $5,000, we're told, which shouldn't be too difficult.

Bottom line ... it sounds like they'll be able to secure their freedom as they fight the charges against them. Remember, prosecutors in Miami allege the Clenneys illegally accessed a computer that belonged to Courtney's slain boyfriend, Christian, in the aftermath of his death.

THEY'LL DO ANYTHING TO WIN

In the charging docs, law enforcement made clear they were monitoring the Clenneys and their alleged communication about this laptop -- which they say the group discussed at length.

What's wild about that is ... we interviewed the Clenneys not too long ago, and they telegraphed this exact sentiment -- telling us they knew their communications were being recorded and that law enforcement was keeping tabs on them.

We also know the Clenneys strongly feel they didn't do anything wrong here, but this whole thing will have to play out in court. As for Courtney, she's due in court herself Thursday for a hearing -- but our sources tell us she'll also be arraigned anew on these computer charges.

Target Slammed Mislabeled Magnet Book ... Wrong Black History Month Figures?!?

Published | Updated

update

8:18 PM PT -- A rep for Target tells TMZ ... "We will no longer be selling this product in stores or online. We’ve also ensured the product's publisher is aware of the errors."

Target's under fire for selling Black History Month material in their stores with factually incorrect info -- namely, grossly mislabeling historic Black Americans.

The ill-timed snafu was pointed out by TikToker @Issatete -- who posted a now-viral video of what she says she found in a Target near her. In the clip, she shows off a magnet-style learning activity book called "Civil Rights."

013124-civil-rights-magnets-kal
GET IT RIGHT

It comes from a children's product retailer called Bendon -- but this user is mad at Target for hawking these books, which she says have names of prominent Black figures mismatched to their photos.

Take a look ... you'll see what she's talking about. There are at least 3 examples of completely mislabeled names, and Issa is pissed, calling it more than just an oversight.

The user, who apparently teaches U.S. history, gave a rundown of the mistakes she immediately noticed -- for instance, the picture of Carter G. Woodson in this magnet-book is actually Pan-Africanist civil rights activist W.E.B. Du Bois.

Elsewhere in the book, the picture labeled with Du Bois' name is actually educator and author Booker T. Washington -- while Booker's snap is actually Woodson. Talk about a mess!

Issa says action needs to be taken immediately ... writing in the caption that mistakes happen, but it only takes one person to point it out and ask for corrections. Now that she has, she's calling on Target to remove this product from its inventory.

The outrage continues in Issa's comments as many people are asking why no one bothered to proofread the book at least once.

The publisher's yet to respond to the viral post, and although some are going so far as to claim the errors were deliberate ... we gotta say that seems unlikely, because an intentional mislabeling like this is too outrageous to comprehend.

Whatever happened, the timing couldn't be worse ... on this eve of Black History Month. Rough start for Target and the book's publisher, for sure.

Rep. TIM BURCHETT ON TAYLOR 'NO CHANCE SHE'LL SWAY ELECTIONS!' ... Dueling Rep says LOL, He Wishes She Endorsed Him

HER HISTORY'S NOT GREAT

Taylor Swift has no chance of swaying the 2024 election -- this according to Congressman Tim Burchett ... though, a prominent dueling Representative says otherwise.

Rep. Burchett chopped it up with a photog in D.C. Wednesday -- where he said he doesn't care for a TS endorsement ... cause she lost him when she left country music, and he hasn't cared for her since. So, Swift's seal of approval means absolutely nada to him.

Tim's TS loathing doesn't end there ... he says her NFL influence may be significant with more people than ever tuning into the sport ... but he personally hasn't watched a game in years despite being the captain of his high school football team back in '87 ... so, in his mind, her influence can't be that big of a deal.

Basically, he tells the cameraman she's all talk cause she previously came out to speak against Tennessee's Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn ... and it didn't move the needle.

Tim adds that a celeb endorsement doesn't mean much in general ... all it does is just become a scenario where both teams think they've won by bringing in top dogs as backup.

So, that recent poll that showed 18% of voters were "more likely" to vote for a candidate endorsed by Tay? Tim's essentially pouring cold water on it ... saying it's total BS.

While Tim's adamant about his stance, former Tennessee Rep. Jim Cooper, who Taylor endorsed for House of Representatives in 2018, tells TMZ he's got it all wrong -- cause TS' endorsement is the best endorsement you can have -- period.

He says anyone who cares about Taylor having a voice in politics is jealous they didn't get her endorsement ... cause, at the end of the day, she's got a massive 29 million followers on her socials and can easily influence swing states that are really close in numbers.

Also, her fans are well and truly devoted ... meaning they're game for anything, he says.

grave_injustice_kal
TMZ INVESTIGATES

Jim's a massive Taylor fan ... and says she's handled all politics-related matters with complete brilliance and wholesomeness, which is refreshing. He also can't resist touching on her Travis Kelce romance -- saying it plays out like a Hollywood movie.

Back to Tim though ... he goes on to talk about the current political climate ... expressing hopes more young voters will come out and vote because historically, they don't.

For her part, Taylor was loud and proud endorsing Joe Biden for 2020 ... so we're sure it won't be long before she weighs in on the 2024 elections. If you ask Burchett -- that ain't gonna do much either way, but not every politician on Capitol Hill agrees ... clearly.

Alec Baldwin Waives Arraignment Appearance ... Pleads Not Guilty

Published | Updated

Alec Baldwin apparently didn't want to go through the circus of Zooming into New Mexico to face the renewed charges against him -- so, he's skipping it, and entering a plea from an even further distance.

The actor waived his appearance that was set for Thursday morning, where he was due to beam into a courthouse in Santa Fe County and tell the court how he feels about the involuntary manslaughter charge that was re-filed against him in recent weeks.

Instead, he just submitted a not-guilty plea through his attorneys ... opting to pass on a virtual pop-in. Makes sense -- he's already telegraphed his game plan, signaling through lawyers that he wants this all done quickly and out of the spotlight.

grave_injustice_kal
TMZ INVESTIGATES

Remember, Alec made clear last week that he has the right to a speedy trial ... emphasizing the fact he does NOT want to drag this out any longer than it needs to be. There are some conditions of release he has to abide by too -- no consuming booze, no illegal substances and no firearms and no leaving the U.S. without written permission ... the usual.

Now, that he's pled not guilty ... the case can continue, and he'll eventually have to come to court for the trial itself. Considering Alec has been denying any wrongdoing from the start -- all signs point to him fighting this thing to the very end, in front of a jury.

Alec has gotten some support lately on this front -- specifically, from SAG-AFTRA ... which put out a statement saying it's not an actor's job to check firearms on set.

Remember, the D.A.'s office there already tried prosecuting him once -- but dropped the charges ... only to resurrect them again through a grand jury, presumably on newer evidence they think makes their case solid.

With Alec's not-guilty plea now in the record, we can get on with this once and for all.

COURTNEY STODDEN SECRETLY DATING H'Wood PRODUCER ... Met on Movie Set!!!

Courtney Stodden has a new man in her life -- one who has connections in Hollywood, making beaucoup bucks as a big-time film and TV producer!

We're told the couple's been together for about 6 months now, after meeting last August on a movie set. They've kept their relationship on the DL for a while now, as only a few close friends know they're a thing.

And, remember that wouldn't have been Courtney's first walk down the aisle ... Courtney married 51-year-old Doug Hutchison in 2011, when she was just 16 years old.

They separated in 2017 and their divorce finalized in 2020.

Elex Michaelson on Trump Taylor 'Holy War' Could Backfire ... Swifties Might Help Biden

Published | Updated

Donald Trump should be cautious about poking the bear when it comes to attacking Taylor Swift ... so says a well-seasoned political talk show host and media personality.

FOX11 anchor and politico Elex Michaelson joined us on "TMZ Live" Wednesday and we asked him about the ramifications of Trump's inner circle vowing to wage a "holy war" on Taylor and any Democrats she may endorse ... which they're reportedly ready to do.

013124_elex_michaelson_kal 1/31/24
DON'T MESS WITH SWIFT

Given Taylor's massive popularity right now -- coupled with the fact that she's dating a star player on an NFL team, who's about to play in the freaking Super Bowl -- Elex says DT and co. should be careful with how his campaign approaches Swift ... especially if it's to attack.

Elex says he worries Trump may wake up a sleeping giant here, and stir up Swifties en masse to hit the ballot box and vote for his opponent, Joe Biden, who is courting TS' endorsement. That might be a preemptively self-own, especially since she hasn't joined the Biden train yet.

Those same voters are also pretty young, for the most part, and that could hurt Trump too ... Elex explains. Considering Taylor has such influence over the youths in this country -- antagonizing her too early may well backfire if Trump goes in hard right now.

Another layer to this is Trump's potential loss being Biden's gain ... Elex points out Biden's struggled with some key demographics, and TS could help reel those voters back in ... at Trump's expense.

grave_injustice_kal

Of course, Elex says folks shouldn't be quick to dismiss Trump or write him off ... saying DT usually has a handle on how best to drum up his base. Fact is, he's run successful campaigns before and gotten tons of votes.

It's a pretty interesting conversation ... and Elex wonders if there's a scenario where Taylor helps both Trump and Biden. Take a listen to his ration -- he might have a point here.

Shaquille O'Neal Attacking Student Loan Debt Crisis ... Invests In Online College

You Shouldn't Have To Go Into Debt

Shaquille O'Neal values education, and now the legendary big man is making college substantially more affordable ... as American students continue to fall deeper into debt.

O'Neal, along with 29-year-old business partner Tade Oyerinde, talked to TMZ Sports this week about their company, Campus, and its goal to revolutionize 2-year degrees.

Think of Campus, which Oyerinde, now the Chancellor, founded in 2022 ... as an affordable, online community college where students have an opportunity to earn an associate's degree.

Unlike the typical community college experience, Campus' professors come from some of the most prestigious universities, such as Princeton.

O'Neal, who attended LSU, is investing in Campus, joining other high-profile investors like OpenAI founder Sam Altman and billionaire Michael Bloomberg ... as the men throw their money and time behind the concept.

We asked Shaq why he decided to get involved.

"I like to invest in things that are gonna change people's lives, and this will definitely change a person's life. Everyone to be able to have access to world-class education is very important. When I first met Tade he told me 'DFD. I was like, 'What does that mean? Debt-free degrees,'" O'Neal told Babcock.

Of course, student loan debt is a huge problem ... with U.S. students/graduates owing lenders to the tune of $1.7 TRILLION. Campus says they want to stem the bleeding by providing affordable schooling.

Tuition at Campus clocks in at just over $7k for the year ... which pales in comparison to the average cost for a college education.

Check out the full conversation with Shaq and Tade ... as they look to revolutionize higher education.

Chiefs Fans Mystery Death Case Watch Party Host Heading to Rehab Deceased Have Drug Ties

Published | Updated

The man who hosted the ill-fated Kansas City Chiefs watch party that ended with three deaths is reportedly seeking addiction help in rehab -- and TMZ has learned more info about the deceased that could provide clues about what might've happened.

Jordan Willis -- who invited several friends to his K.C.-area home to watch the Chiefs play in early January -- is now seeking treatment for substance abuse -- with his attorney saying he "recognized that he had a problem with addiction" ... this in the aftermath of his three friends turning up dead in his backyard after a night of watching football ... according to Fox News.

Remember ... families of the three men raised the alarm after they hadn't heard from their loved ones for several days. Police showed up at Willis' house on January 9 and placed JW in handcuffs while he was just in his underwear -- though he was not arrested.

They found David Harrington, Ricky Johnson, and Clayton McGeeney dead at his home. A fifth man, Alex Waemer-Lee, attended the event but reportedly left the party early.

CUFFED BY COPS

Now, it's interesting that Willis is heading to rehab -- because TMZ has done some digging that jibes with the notion that this tragedy may, perhaps, be drug-related after all.

For instance, we've learned that one of the men, Clayton, had a connection to pharmaceuticals which might shed some light. We've uncovered that McGeeney had an active pharmacist license which was issued last year and set to expire at the end of May 2024.

While we don't know if he was working at any pharmacy in particular or practicing pharmacology in any way at the time of his death ... we do know the license would allow him to work as a pharmacy technician if he so desired.

Another interesting fact ... David Harrington -- another one of the men who died -- was arrested back in Colorado in 2011 for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance ... although it seems he ended up with just a year of probation and paying some fines.

We don't know for certain what the substance was that resulted in Harrington's arrest, but Schedule II drugs in Colorado include opiates such as oxycodone and fentanyl, and other similar narcotics.

On the face of things, some of these facts appear to line up with what police have maintained since the beginning ... namely, that there's no evidence of foul play, and that for now, they don't suspect homicide either -- though, the investigation remains ongoing.

grave_injustice_kal
TMZ INVESTIGATES

Alex Caprariello, a NewsNation reporter who's been chasing the story since the beginning, reported the families of the victims are meeting with the Platte County prosecutor to "discuss the ongoing investigation and possibility of criminal prosecution."

It remains to be seen what may come of that -- but at the moment, nobody is pointing the finger at any one person. All the clues for now seem to suggest a drug-related disaster.
