DaBaby 911 Audio After Shooting ... Intruder Screaming in Pain

Published | Updated

DaBaby called 911 after shooting a trespasser who entered his North Carolina estate, and you hear the trespasser writhing in pain and DaBaby giving the 911 dispatcher lip.

DaBaby is standing right next to the guy he had just shot in the leg, who is whaling as the dispatcher solicits info. The rapper says the trespasser clearly knew it was his property because he mentioned him by name.

The dispatcher wants to know the condition of the trespasser, and when he asks if the shooting victim is alert, DaBaby goes on on him, saying, "Do you not hear this man, bro?"

DaBaby follows it up by advising the dispatcher not to ask the same question over and over.

Then the dispatcher asks DaBaby to secure his weapon, and the rapper makes it clear it's plenty secure in his hand. He refuses to put the gun down because the trespasser could still be a threat and there may others out there.

The trespasser was taken to a nearby hospital. His wound is not life-threatening.

BTW ... North Carolina is a stand your ground state, so DaBaby may not have violated the law by shooting the guy.

DaBaby Sources Say He Pulled Trigger In Shooting At NC Property

UPDATE

6:31 PM PT -- DaBaby was at the center of the shooting at his North Carolina estate ... because we're told he's the one who pulled the trigger.

UPDATE

Our law enforcement sources tell us the rapper exchanged words with an intruder and shot the man in the leg. We're told DaBaby then called 911 and was cooperative with cops when they arrived.

DaBaby was home when someone was shot at on his North Carolina estate, and he was involved in the incident ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us someone came onto the property without permission and they got shot. We're also told DaBaby was present when this all went down -- however, we don't know the level of his involvement.

We're told police have made no arrests, and all the evidence will be turned over to the District Attorney.

The Troutman Police Department says officers responded to reports of a shooting Wednesday night and when officers arrived at the scene they found someone who'd suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Cops say the shooting victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

Troutman town manager Ron Wyatt tells TMZ ... the shooting occurred at a compound where DaBaby occasionally stays, and people can't just walk onto the property by accident. Our sources say one of the DaBaby's relatives is listed as the owner of the estate.

Wyatt says there's a wall around the compound and DaBaby has security guards.

We've reached out to DaBaby's reps, no word back so far.

A Russian superyacht nearly 2 times the length of a football field is now in the hands of Germany after being seized as a consequence of Russian's attack on Ukraine.

The yacht is owned by Gulbakhor Ismailova, the sister of Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, one of Russian's richest citizens and a close advisor to Putin, particularly on economic issues.

The yacht is beyond ... 512-feet long, with just about every bell and whistle imaginable, including an 80-foot pool and not 1 but 2 helipads. It cost more than $648 million.

The Yacht -- named Dilbar -- is now impounded in a Hamburg, Germany shipyard.

The yacht is flagged in the Caymans and registered to a company in Malta ... this is the drill followed by many of the super rich.

Other expensive toys of Russian oligarchs have been seized, including yachts and private jets, but Dilbar may be the crown jewel.

TRAUMATIZING TO REVISIT

Miya Ponsetto, AKA "SoHo Karen," got off easy and it would be much different if she were a Black person ... so says, Ben Crump and Keyon Harrold.

Keyon Harrold and his attorney, Ben Crump, tell TMZ ... they believe if the roles were reversed and Miya was a Black woman, who assaulted a white teen, then her punishment would've been harsher.

As we've previously reported, Miya Ponsetto was charged with a hate crime ... after she attacked Keyon Harrold's 14-year-old son, Keyon Harrold Jr., and falsely accused him of stealing her phone at a SoHo hotel in 2020.

Miya ended up copping a plea deal Monday ... pleading guilty to a felony hate crime charge but avoiding any jail time. Instead, she's agreed to stay out of trouble for 2 years and continue with counseling.

Keyon says to make matters worse, "she's never gone on the record to apologize to my son, not once. It's traumatic to even think about, there's trauma every time this is brought up and triggering to my entire family."

Ben says it all boils down to Black people getting much harsher punishments than White folks ... "The institutions produce the same outcomes: Black people get the most of injustice and the least of justice. No matter who is in the office."

Moving forward, Ben and Keyon also think the Arlo Hotel should be held accountable for their role during the incident, when she wasn't even a guest.

Cuba Gooding Jr. Cops Plea in Sexual Misconduct Case

Published | Updated

Cuba Gooding Jr. copped a plea deal in his sexual misconduct case ... and it means he's going to avoid jail time, as long as he keeps his nose clean.

The actor, who was facing 6 misdemeanor charges for 3 separate alleged incidents, pled guilty Wednesday to one count of forcible touching. That charge is for the 2019 case where a woman claimed Gooding kissed her without consent at New York City's LAVO nightclub.

Remember, a grand jury indicted Gooding in that case ... after he'd been arrested for another allegation. A different accuser said he had touched her breast without consent while they were at a rooftop bar in the Big Apple.

The case also included allegations from a server at TAO Downtown who said Cuba pinched her buttocks in 2018 after making a sexually suggestive remark to her.

As we reported, Cuba wanted the whole indictment tossed out of court and initially pled not guilty to all 6 counts, but he ended up taking a plea deal.

Prosecutors say Cuba's plea deal calls for him to continue the alcohol and behavior modification treatment he began in 2019 for 6 more months, and he can't have any new arrests.

If Cuba follows the terms, we're told he can change the plea to harassment in the second degree, and get a sentence of time served -- but if he doesn't comply, he faces up to one year in jail.

Brooklyn Subway Shooting Suspect Frank James' Disturbing Videos ... Lots of Radical, Violent Views

Published | Updated

The man cops now call a suspect in the Brooklyn subway shooting has a disturbing history of YouTube videos with radical views ... which foreshadow violence.

Frank James' YT page has been pored over in the past 24 hours -- following the NYPD naming him as the main guy they wanna talk to right now in the wake of 10 people getting shot in a train car Tuesday morning.

The content found has been troubling, to say the least ... with several videos that tout extremist rhetoric and out-there stances on topics like race, COVID, crime and politics.

In one such clip, labeled "STOP ONE COMPLETE," James says "you oughta die," among other alarming quotes. To be frank, a lot of his rants don't make much sense -- but he seems quite agitated by the state of affairs in 2022 ... and he invokes violent language to talk about much of it.

CHAOS IN NEW YORK

There's also one very scary video that shows James inside of a subway car -- where he's filming people and the goings-on. The clip seems to be pre-2020, and it's labeled "THE GOOD OLE DAYS."

His videos don't have too many views and he has few to no subscribers ... so he was definitely talking into a void of sorts. And yet, they're being widely circulated now as cops look for this man.

As we reported ... upwards of 30 people were treated for injuries Tuesday. There are also reports of smoke inhalation ... as the shooter appears to have used a flashbang of some kind to obscure people's vision.

The aftermath was a bloody mess, with bodies and blood strewn all throughout the platform once the train finally arrived to its stop.

Fortunately, no fatalities yet and none are expected. A manhunt is underway for the perp ... and NYC Mayor Adams has called for a national response to gun violence as a result. He also said there'd be changes on the city level ... including more officers in the subway.

LAPD Gangs Targeting Rich and Famous Crews Follow, Then Rob

Published | Updated

Los Angeles gangs are partially to blame for a recent crime wave ... at least according to cops, who say gang members are targeting the rich and famous for brazen robberies.

The LAPD says at least 17 gangs, including sets affiliated with the Bloods and the Crips, are sending gang members to seek out potential targets, looking for folks wearing expensive jewelry and driving luxury cars ... according to a story in the Los Angeles Times.

Cops say they are seeing a rise in what police call "follow off" or "follow home" robberies ... with robbers approaching their victims shortly after they leave high-end boutiques, swanky hotels, fancy restaurants and the hottest nightclubs.

The LAPD told the Times robbers are making off with items worth tens of thousands of dollars, and sometimes more, including diamond jewelry and designer handbags ... then turning around and selling them on the black market.

Cops say most of the gangs involved trace their roots to South L.A. and there were 165 of these types of robberies in 2021 and already 56 this year, including another rash of crimes over the weekend.

The LAPD says most of the incidents are happening in Hollywood, but it's also a problem in DTLA and even the San Fernando Valley. In some instances, cops say they've seen gangs rolling 3 to 5 cars deep, with gangsters hopping out of their rides and attacking victims, sometimes brandishing firearms and pistol-whipping them.

As we reported ... some of these robberies have involved celebrity victims, including Dorit Kemsley, Terrence J and Clarence Avant and his wife, Jacqueline, who was shot and killed inside the couple's Beverly Hills home.

There was also an armed robbery at celeb hot spot Il Pastaio in March 2021 in Beverly Hills, where a woman was shot in the leg and cops say the shooter and 2 accomplices were after a $500,000 Richard Mille watch a man was wearing.

Things are so bad, the LAPD has a task force investigating these crimes ... and cops say they are going to crack down on folks buying stolen goods on the black market.

Frank Langella Being Investigated for Sexual Harassment On Set of Netflix Project

Published | Updated

Frank Langella is under investigation for alleged sexual harassment on the set of a Netflix project ... TMZ has learned.

A production source tells us there have been allegations of inappropriate conduct by Langella made within the last couple weeks on the set of the limited series "The Fall of the House of Usher." We're told there's currently an investigation into what happened, but Langella has not been fired or suspended from the series.

As for what exactly happened, a source close to production tells us the 84-year-old actor allegedly made an inappropriate joke that was sexual in nature. Our sources also say in the context of his performance, possibly during rehearsal, he touched the leg of a female costar, and further drew attention to the action when he jokingly said something like "Did you like that?"

The show has been filming in British Columbia, Canada ... we reached out to the local police department who says nothing has been reported to them involving Frank.

Our sources say the investigation has not had any immediate effect on production, as Frank -- who plays Roderick Usher in the series -- was not scheduled to shoot any scenes this week.

Langella found massive fame as Dracula in 1979 and more recently played the judge in Netflix's "The Trial of the Chicago 7."

We reached out to a rep for Frank ... so far, no word back.

A Netflix spokesperson tells TMZ, "We do not comment on active employment matters."

Cain Velasquez Sends Message From Jail ... Calls For 'True Victims' To Speak Out

Published | Updated
UPDATE

1:48 PM PT -- Velasquez's hearing was continued until May 6 -- meaning the UFC legend will remain behind bars for at least another three weeks.

UPDATE

It should be noted ... at the hearing Tuesday, fellow UFC legend Daniel Cormier showed up to support his good friend.

Cain Velasquez has finally broken his silence on his attempted murder case -- releasing a statement from jail on Tuesday, thanking his supporters and urging "the true victims of this case" to come forward.

Velasquez just posted the message on his social media page -- just hours before he's set to go before a judge for a hearing in the case -- saying he's grateful for all of the fighters and fans who have pleaded for his release from jail following his February arrest.

"To everyone that has expressed your support, my family and I will never be able to thank you enough," Velasquez said. "From the bottom of our hearts and the depths of our souls, we are forever grateful for your love."

The 39-year-old did not go into detail about his side of the story in the case, but he did say it's "complex and slowly unraveling as we speak."

As we reported, officials say Velasquez shot at Harry Goularte multiple times on Feb. 28 in Santa Clara County, Calif. ... after the man was accused of molesting one of Velasquez's close relatives.

Velasquez has been hit with 10 criminal charges, including one count of felony attempted murder.

In his note, Velasquez urged the "true victims of this case" -- presumably others he believes Goularte has molested -- to speak out.

"May God give you the strength to come forward," the UFC legend said. "Though it is most difficult to relive the pain that has happened to you, in speaking the truth, justice will be served and your own true healing will start."

"I will never stop helping or loving my community and all of you. Thank you for loving me."

Velasquez's hearing is slated to begin at 1:30 PM PT. There is a chance he could finally be released from jail following the court session.

'Surviving Sex Trafficking' Violators 'Aren't Afraid Yet' ... Film's Producer Calls Out Justice System

Published

Filmmaker Sadhvi Siddhali Shree says there's a simple reason the sex trafficking industry continues to flourish -- it's the lack of serious consequences for pimps and madams, something she's aiming to change.

Siddhali joined "TMZ Live" to talk about her latest documentary, "Surviving Sex Trafficking," and the importance of sharing stories and spreading awareness on this issue. She says giving survivors a safe space to share their stories not only helps them heal, but it also helps to raise awareness.

As far as putting an end to the multibillion dollar worldwide sex trafficking industry -- Siddhali says there's been a lot of progress in the last 10 years, but there's a long road ahead. Even with more attention on this issue, she feels, the punishment for traffickers isn't tough enough.

Without that deterrent, she says traffickers are operating without fear.

Over 45 million people are trafficked around the globe, and only 2% ever escape it. Siddhali dives into that stark reality in her new documentary, which follows 3 sex trafficking victims on their journey to healing.

"Surviving Sex Trafficking" is in select theaters now and will be available Friday on iTunes and Prime Video.

The incident went down shortly after the Rockies vs. Dodgers game in Denver on Friday -- just a few blocks away from the stadium -- when a man jumped into an altercation between women who appeared to be feuding with each other.

You can see in the footage, as several of the women were fighting -- the man stepped in and began unloading haymakers.

Kim Kardashian Supports Texas Death Row Inmate 'We Thank Her So Much'

Published | Updated

Kim Kardashian's support is going a long way for Texas death row inmate Melissa Lucio, who has newfound hope ... despite her looming execution date.

We caught up with Melissa's son, John Lucio, who was heading to a rally in Dallas to protest the impending execution.

John tells TMZ ... when he told his mom Kim Kardashian was advocating on her behalf, she was shocked and couldn't believe it. He says, Kim supporting her, alongside many others, really uplifted her spirit.

Kim has called on Texas Gov. Abbott to halt the execution ... which is scheduled for April 27. She's spoken out on this issue on her social media and shared a letter to the Governor from Melissa's 14 children.

Melissa has been sitting on death row for nearly 15 years. She was convicted back in 2008 of murdering her 2-year-old daughter. Melissa told cops her daughter fell down a flight of stairs when they arrived.

Melissa's family, attorneys and supporters all note she initially asserted her innocence but was coerced into a false confession ... after hours of tough interrogation.

As you know, Kim has been a long-time advocate for criminal justice reform ... speaking out on other death row cases in Texas, like Rodney Reed.

If executed, Melissa would be the first Latina put to death in Texas in the modern era.

Jaylen Waddle Henry Ruggs Is 'Good Person' ... Calls Arrest Shocking

Published

Henry Ruggs' former Alabama teammate, Jaylen Waddle, says he was shocked by the ex-Raiders star's arrest ... calling Ruggs both a "good person" and a "good dude."

Waddle explained his feelings on Ruggs' legal situation to Pacman Jones and Omar Kelly on the the "I Am Athlete" show this week ... saying he never would have thought Ruggs would be in the situation he's currently in.

In fact, Waddle said out of the star 'Bama wideouts who went to school together -- which also included Devonta Smith and Jerry Jeudy -- Ruggs was perhaps the best guy in the meeting rooms.

"Out of all us," Waddle said, "that'd be the person that you least expect something like that to happen to."

Waddle told Jones and Kelly that Ruggs was such a good friend, the two still keep in contact with each other to this day.

As we reported, Ruggs is facing decades behind bars after he was accused of driving drunk and killing Tina Tintor after he crashed his pricey sports car into the back of her Rav4.

Ruggs is currently out on bond while he awaits trial.

Waddle didn't want to comment too much on the situation due to the pending legal case -- but he did say the incident has made him more aware of his surroundings and behavior.

"It can happen to anybody," Waddle said. "You got your antennas up. That's just eye-opening."

IG Model Courtney Tailor Confronted at Miami Hotel Bar ... Atty. Claims Self-Defense

CONFRONTED AT THE BAR

Courtney Tailor -- the model who was covered in blood after her boyfriend was brutally killed -- got a temperature check on how the public feels about her ... and it ain't good.

A video has surfaced that shows someone filming a blonde woman in the lobby area of Miami's Grand Beach Hotel Friday night -- with the camera person saying she will NOT stop recording and arguing this woman (whom she believes is Tailor) has no business being there ... especially since her BF, Christian Tobechukwu Obumseli, was slain just days ago.

The person filming also makes clear their opinion on the matter -- namely, that she believes Tailor may have been the one who did the stabbing ... something CT has yet to be accused of by cops or law enforcement officials at this point in the investigation.

Their IG caption is also telling ... "@mpdpolice does this look like a mentally unstable person to you, as she claims?" She's referring to the fact Tailor was placed in a psychiatric hold after threatening suicide when she was brought in for questioning. Clearly, she's been released from that hold from nearly a full week ago ... and is out and about, not in custody.

BLOODY DETAINMENT

Courtney's attorney, Frank Prieto, confirms to TMZ ... yes, this is, in fact, his client -- but he defends her being there, and says this is just an example of people running with theories without knowing the full facts.

He says, in part ... Courtney was there that night with her father, who simply wanted to pop in and have a drink in private -- which was disrupted by this woman who started filming.

Prieto also says this ... "It is unfortunate that a member of the public, knowing absolutely nothing about circumstances and events surrounding the death Mr. Obumseli, would take the opportunity to harass the Clenney family during a time that they are trying to be supportive for Courtney."

He also drops a bombshell allegation, telling us he believes Courtney is the victim of "physical, emotional, and mental abuse at the hands of Mr. Obumseli," while also suggesting she may even have been a "victim of human trafficking," without elaborating much further.

Prieto also makes this clear -- he believes his client was fighting for her life during the domestic disturbance that got cops sent out that fateful day. He claims, "At the time of the incident, Mr. Obumseli was committing a forcible felony. He had gained access to Courtney’s apartment without permission on several occasions in the days leading up to this incident."

He adds, "Courtney acted in self-defense; the investigation by both the City of Miami Police Department and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office will conclude such. With that said, we would ask for the public’s understanding about observing the family’s privacy at this time."

We've reached out to attorney Lee Merritt, who is working with Christian's family, for comment on Prieto's allegations about DV and self-defense ... so far, no word back.

Of course, Miami PD has not arrested Courtney on any charges thus far -- it's also unclear where they are in the case ... and what, if anything, may come of it in the end.
