Kim Kardashian Paying 5 Years Rent For Man Released from Jail

Published | Updated

Kim Kardashian West is making sure one man recently released from jail will have a roof over his head for the next 5 years -- she's picking up his rent bills -- TMZ has confirmed.

Matthew Charles -- who had served 20 of his 35-year sentence for a non-violent drug and weapons charges -- was the first to be released under new prison reform laws. Charles recently had his housing application denied because of his background.

Sources familiar with the situation tell us Kardashian heard about Charles' story and wanted to do what she could to help ... so she's going to pay his rent for the next 5 years.

Kim first heard of Charles' story through an article posted on Twitter -- Charles was first granted early release in May 2016 by mistake -- and two years later was ordered to finish out the rest of his sentence. Charles was able to start to get back on his feet by purchasing a vehicle and staying with friends ... but had a hard time landing a place to live.

We're told Kim reached out to Charles and his friend privately Sunday and generously offered to pay his rent and to help him find a stable place to live.

Charles posted about the good news Sunday, saying, "I just received the most wonderful news tonight that I just had to share with everyone. Kim Kardashian-West heard about my situation. Was moved and has decided to help me."

US Weekly -- who first reported the story -- says Charles plans to save up to buy a home of his own while Kim takes care of the rent bills.

Bam Margera Family Gets Him into Treatment After Comedy Club Meltdown

Bam Margera is finally getting the help his family and friends firmly believe he needs -- days after that on-camera rant at his manager -- but he didn't go easily ... TMZ has learned.

A family source says the former "Jackass" star was admitted into a behavioral facility. We're told Bam was resistant, and family members had to have him committed. The plan now is for him to consult with multiple specialists to come up with a recovery plan.

As you know, Bam's been in and out of rehab in the past for alcohol abuse.

We're told friends and family think his drinking had gotten out of hand again, but they also believe he's suffering from a personality disorder.

TMZ broke the story ... Bam threatened to smash his manager's face after showing up to an empty NYC comedy club where he was slated to perform. In the video, Bam called his manager a "f***ing p***y" and threatened him.

Bam, who witnesses say appeared intoxicated, had canceled his 7 PM show after getting into an argument with his wife, Nikki.

He showed up at 8 PM for his 10 PM show, and lost it on his manager because he expected the club to be full.

Cowboys' David Irving 'No Regrets' After Quitting NFL Sends Message to Jerry Jones

Published | Updated

Dallas Cowboys star David Irving says he will NOT reverse course on his decision to quit the NFL over their policy on marijuana ... and he's got a message for Jerry Jones in case they never speak again.

The 25-year-old defensive tackle famously lit up a joint and announced his sudden retirement from the NFL during an Instagram Live session on Thursday night. Shocking, considering he could've made MILLIONS continuing his career in the league.

But, Irving tells us he's 100% done playing pro football -- and now he's moving on to the next phase of his life.

"No regrets whatsoever," Irving says ... "I know what I wanted to do. I've had plenty of time to think about it."

Irving says he's heard the critics who have called him stupid -- and worse -- for closing the book on such a lucrative profession ... but he doesn't care.

"I'm living my life. They can do whatever the hell they want to do in their life."

Irving tells TMZ Sports he consulted with his father -- a military veteran -- before making his decision. David feels strongly he should be able to medicate using marijuana instead of opioids, which he considers addictive and dangerous.

So, what's his message to Jones? Ya gotta watch the clip ... but Irving says the Cowboys owner was his strongest supporter during his time in the NFL and believes they'll be cool when it's all said and done.

Ex-MLB Star Esteban Loaiza 3 Years In Prison In Cocaine Case

Published | Updated

Ex-MLB All-Star pitcher Esteban Loaiza just got sentenced to 36 months in prison after officials found him hiding 44 pounds of cocaine ... and he'll surrender next month.

As we previously reported, Loaiza -- who made more than $40 MILLION during his 14-year MLB career -- was arrested last year after cops say he was trying to move more than $500,000 in cocaine from a house located near a school.

Officials say Loaiza was using "sophisticated" smuggling devices to hide the 22 kilos of coke.

On Friday, the 47-year-old appeared in court in San Diego for his sentencing. He was facing life in prison -- but seems to be getting off easy ... with just a 3-year prison sentence.

Officials say he'll be deported to his native Mexico following his release.

The story about how he was caught is crazy.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. says he was busted during a drug-smuggling sting by the Border Crime Suppression Team.

Loaiza was initially stopped by police during a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation -- but a search of his car led to the discovery of a "sophisticated aftermarket compartment used to conceal contraband."

Cops then got a warrant to search a home that Loaiza had been renting since early February -- located "steps away from an area preschool" -- and found roughly 20 kilograms of suspected cocaine.

Estimated street value -- $500,000.

Loaiza was initially booked into San Diego County Jail for 3 felonies -- Possession of Cocaine Over 20 Kilograms, Possession of Cocaine for Sale, and Transportation of Cocaine.

He later pled guilty to felony cocaine possession with intent to distribute.

Loaiza, the second-winningest pitcher from Mexico in MLB history, played for 8 different teams in his career -- earning over $43 million.

He last played for the White Sox in 2008 -- the same team he played for when he was an All-Star in 2003 and 2004.

Cowboys' David Irving My Career's Up In Smoke!!! Hits Joint On IG to Announce NFL Retirement

Published | Updated

"I'm outta there. I'm not doing this sh*t no more."

*hits joint*

That's seriously how Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving announced his NFL retirement Thursday night ... going on Instagram Live to tee off on the NFL's drug policy and quit his job.

The 25-year-old was suspended indefinitely last week after reportedly violating the league's drug policy again ... and now he's letting everyone know he's taking the punishment by smoking weed.

"Basically guys, I quit," Irving said. "They wanna talk about a suspension and all this other nonsense. I'm outta there. I'm not doing this sh*t no more."

Irving has dealt with several injuries during his short career, including a severe concussion that he claims led to a car accident in 2017. Instead of using marijuana to get better, Irving says he was forced to take Rx pills in order to stay within the policy guidelines.

"We got this opioid thing going on ... I'm prescribed all that bullsh*t. I just think it's bullsh*t that we have to deal with that policy."

"Everyone thinks it's about smoking weed. It's not about smoking weed. It's much bigger than that."

Irving also takes issue with how the league has handled Colin Kaepernick ... as well as his old teammate, Randy Gregory, who has also been suspended several times in just a few years.

Irving wants to make it clear that he still has a passion for the game ... but he refuses to continue to "put up with the bullsh*t."

"I love football ... I mean, sh*t, it shaped me. I wouldn't be here without it. However, I don't love the NFL. The NFL is not football."

Irving says he has "big plans in the making" in the next few months ... and we got a hunch it's weed related.

Bam Margera Rips 'F**king P***y' Manager & 'Ho' Wife ... Bails on Comedy Gig

Published | Updated

3/8 -- It's a little clearer now why Bam canceled that 7 PM show, and why he was agitated when he showed up.

Bam posted a video blasting his wife, Nikki, for bolting in their car with his credit cards. He said he couldn't check in to his hotel prior to the show because of his "street ho" wife. His words.

No word yet if Nikki and Bam ever reconnected Thursday night.

Bam Margera is unloading on his manager in shocking new footage obtained by TMZ ... screaming obscenities and threatening violence at a comedy club in New York.

Folks at the West Side Comedy Club tell TMZ ... Bam's team asked the venue to cancel the 7 PM set, but were still hopeful about the 10 PM gig. But when Bam showed up at 8 PM and the place was empty the former "Jackass" star started ripping his manager a new one.

Ya gotta see the video ... Bam is PISSED, and he calls his manager a "f***ing p***y" before threatening to smash his face.

We're told Bam appeared intoxicated upon arrival, and even though they tried to explain that the audience wouldn't start showing up until 9 for a 10 PM show, he was seething.

After beefing with his manager, we're told Bam stormed out of the venue and flipped off the parking attendants as he climbed into a waiting car.

As you know ... Bam's been in and out of rehab for alcohol abuse.

The comedy club scrapped both of Bam's sets, which are part of his tour through New York and Connecticut.

David Irving NFL Won't Let Me Smoke Weed ... That's 'Bulls**t'

Published | Updated

Cowboys star David Irving -- who was just hit with ANOTHER suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy -- says it's "bullsh*t" the NFL won't let him smoke weed.

25-year-old Irving was a stud for Dallas the last four seasons when he was actually on the field ... logging 12.5 sacks in just 10 starts -- but, the dude just couldn't stay out of trouble.

He was suspended for 4 games to start BOTH the 2017 and 2018 seasons ... and just last week, the league announced he's been banned once again.

Now, the guy is speaking out on social media ... saying the NFL is a bunch of hypocrites -- and seems to be threatening to sit out of the league until it makes weed legal.

"Once they do that, give me a call," Irving said ... "Cuz it's bullshit how I have Xanax bars n hydros right next to me to take, given to me by the NFL of course. However, we can't smoke the same weed the staff itself smokes."

This ain't the first time the embattled pass rusher has been vocal about the NFL's drug policy ... he's been in the comments of social media blasting trolls over his suspensions for years.

In fact, in one rant just a few months ago ... Irving claimed, "every game you've seen me play in, I was medicated."

David is still technically a Cowboy ... but his contract with the team expires at the beginning of the NFL's free agency next week.

The question now is ... will he ever get signed again???

SF Giants' Cameron Maybin Arrested for DUI ... 'I am Deeply Sorry'

Published | Updated

03/06 -- Maybin addressed the arrest Wednesday morning ... saying "Life's greatest lessons are usually learned at the worst times and from the worst mistakes."

"I take full responsibility for my actions and am deeply sorry to all those that I let down - my family, my friends, my supporters, my teammates, and the entire SF Giants front office."

"Life is about growth and I'm choosing to learn and grow from this valuable life lesson."

More bad news for the San Francisco Giants ...

This time, outfielder Cameron Maybin was arrested for drunk driving in Arizona -- after going on a sad 0-16 slump in spring training.

31-year-old Maybin was pulled over around 2:25 AM on Friday morning after cops say he was speeding and swerving in Scottsdale.

During the stop, Maybin told officers he had 5 glasses of wine at a fancy restaurant earlier that evening -- but tried to take a nap to sleep it off ... and thought he was fine to get back on the road.

Spoiler alert: he wasn't.

Cops say Maybin took a breathalyzer test and blew a .127 -- well over the .08 legal limit.

The Giants -- which just signed Maybin to a $1.75 million contract last month -- said they're aware of the situation and gathering information.

Maybin made his MLB debut back in 2007 for the Detroit Tigers -- he's bounced around the league ever since ... playing for the Marlins, Braves, Padres, Angels. He also won a World Series with the Houston Astros in 2017.

It's been a bad month for the Giants ... just a few days ago, Giants CEO Larry Baer was caught on video in a physical altercation with his wife.

Baer has since stepped away from the team to take "personal time" to reflect on the incident.

The MLB has launched an investigation into the Baer incident and the Giants say they are cooperating with investigators.

Take a breath. Farrah's new gig is a fully-clothed one -- she's the new book critic for Penthouse magazine and specifically, she'll be tackling feminist literature. We're told the former 'Teen Mom'/porn star was brought on board 'cause the racy mag wants to see if traditional heroes of female empowerment connect with the "average all-American girl."

Yes, someone's referring to Farrah as the average girl back next door.

BTW, she's already got one review under her belt -- Joan Didion's 1968 book, "Slouching Towards Bethlehem." If you're not in the know ... Didion's an iconic American writer and journalist. She even has her own Netflix documentary.

Anyway, Farrah's got quite a hot take on Joan's breakthrough book -- a collection of essays about her adventures in Cali -- which got rave reviews back in the '60s.

We got some excerpts of Farrah's review and she goes IN, calling it ... "a great book for people who abuse substances every day." She adds, "Without ever feeling the need to grow up, these baby boomers drink their way through life. They only think about drinking and drugs."

Guess Farrah's never heard of the '60s -- but it's clear she's not afraid to speak her mind. She summed up Joan's work like this ... "Was Didion even trying when she wrote this junk?"

Penthouse digs her, anyway ... calling Farrah, "bravely brazen." Oh, and we're told her next review will be one of Senator Harris' books.
