The Gabby Petito saga has raised questions about who the media focuses on in cases like these, and it seems disproportionally white ... so says a member of the Black Eyed Peas.

We talked to Taboo (Jaime Luis Gomez) -- who is of Mexican descent and identifies as an indigenous person -- and he broke down the phenomenon of "Missing White Girl Syndrome" ... something news networks/society has been accused of doing during this entire ordeal.

Put plainly ... the guy says it is, indeed, a real thing -- and the proof is in the pudding on wall-to-wall coverage of Gabby's story for weeks on end.

As Taboo eloquently puts it, there are scores of Black and indigenous women who go missing every single day ... but don't get even a drop of the same mainstream attention as Petito did -- or any number of missing caucasian girls/women over the years.

That's not to say this is criticizing Gabby or her family or anyone affected by the tragedy -- quite the opposite ... Taboo says he has all the empathy in the world for them.

However, he does feel an underlying issue exists and doesn't wanna shy away from hard talks like these out of fear of propriety. Check out this chat -- you can tell he's passionate about speaking up for his people and other marginalized groups, so this hits home for him.

A Japanese man dressed as the Joker went on a rampage with a knife while onboard a train in Tokyo -- and video of the passengers attempting to flee is absolutely terrifying.

Check out this wild footage from inside a subway car Sunday that was heading to the Shinjuku station ... where folks were running for their lives after a guy who's said to be just 24 years old started randomly stabbing people -- all while donning a Joker costume.

You can see passengers from one train car hopping to another in sheer panic, and then huddle up together on the opposite end ... obviously scared to death. It looks like a movie ... but it's as real as it gets.

Witnesses told police and local media that the man was brandishing a long knife smeared in what looked like blood -- something bystanders thought was a Halloween joke -- and then he started swinging it, successfully stabbing upwards of 10 people ... per reports.

He then began dousing the interior with a liquid of some sort ... and tried setting the train ablaze. That's why you're seeing all the smoke start to build up -- and why people were literally jumping out of windows to escape. All in all, cops say at least 17 people were hurt, to varying degrees.

The perp appears to have sat down after all the chaos ... and lit a cigarette with his legs crossed, seemingly taking in everything he'd just done. It's as eerie as it sounds. People from the outside filmed him through the door windows ... all he does he stare back and smoke.

It wasn't long before the cops showed up and arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder, among other charges. He didn't put up much of a fight either -- looks like the man cooperated with police and allowed himself to be taken into custody.

Cops say they don't have any clear motive just yet -- but we're sure this dude will get the grilling of his life to figure out why he did this.

Hilaria Baldwin thinks her husband, Alec, will develop post-traumatic stress disorder after the shooting that claimed Halyna Hutchins' life ... which is partly why they fled New York.

The actor's spouse revealed the reason behind their family's travel to Vermont, saying they needed to get away from all the madness following the fatal accident ... this according to the NYPost, who snagged a one-on-one interview on Saturday, separate from their pap encounter.

It also sounds like she was tasked with finding a solitary place for them all, telling the outlet she drove around "an entire day" before settling on Manchester, VT ... and before Alec and co. eventually joined her. She says they needed to get away to "mourn Halyna's death."

She added, "Alec had a really traumatic thing happen, and I am trying to limit the PTSD."

HB went on to compare Alec's situation to that of a war vet or cop ... who might normally develop the affliction -- saying, "You look at what happens to soldiers and police officers when something like this happens, it's traumatic. We just came up here for quiet."

She also spoke on whether her hubby would ever act again, and the Post says she replied she was "hopeful but not certain." Hilaria also said, "He needs space for me to take care of him and his mental health. It's an awful thing that happened. Alec feels awful."

Hilaria also echoed something Alec himself said on camera -- that this sort of thing shouldn't have happened, and tighter regulations need to be in place. She's clearly standing by her man, taking to IG after their eventful weekend to post a photo of their hands intertwined.

Harry Styles killed -- not Freddy Krugger style, but still -- Saturday night in NYC, as he chose a throwback both in costume and in song.

Harry performed at a jam-packed Madison Square Garden and hopped on stage as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz." He got it right ... right down to the ruby-red slippers. He called the night, "Harryween!"

And, then he sang the staple, "Over the Rainbow," and it was kinda awesome. Too bad Judy Garland's not alive ... she could've sung "Watermelon Sugar!" Speaking of ... does that song work as performed by Dorothy from 'TWOO?' We'll go with YES.

It's part of Harry's Love On Tour, and he has one more night at the Garden.

Drake was feeling it Saturday night, with a little help from a beverage.

Drake hosted a rap battle Saturday night in Long Beach, and he may not have been 3 sheets, but surely at least 2!

He was at the "Til Death Do Us Part" show, and as he chit-chatted with Nunu Nellz, it doesn't take an alcohol expert to see ... Drake was under the influence and having a blast. He wasn't in costume, but Drake's famous enough to be himself. Yeah, that doesn't really make sense.

There were tons of parties Saturday night in Hollywood and parts surrounding .... including one hosted by Alessandra Ambrosia which attacked a gaggle of celebs, including Meagan Good, Doja Cat, Tyga, Ryan Phillippe, Victoria Justice and Jeff Ross.

After the rap battle, Drake left for parts or parties unknown, but it's clear ... he had a better time than most.

Big Hollywood Halloween bashes Saturday night ... and most of the celebs stuck to tried-and-true costumes.

Darren Dzienciol's CARN*EVIL party was hosted by Alessandra Ambrosio in Bel Air. Lots of folks showed, including Meagan Good, Doja Cat, Tyga, Josie Canseco, Ryan Phillippe, Victoria Justice and Jeff Ross.

Another Halloween bash attracted the likes of Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner and Emma Roberts.

There were various other parties as well, but all of the costumes were PG Halloween. Not so much over at the TMZ office Friday ... where several of us may have crossed the line!

Paris Hilton dressed up as Cinderella, Justin Bieber was a teddy bear, Dove Cameron played The Joker, and Jamie Foxx was a Gremlin. And, then there's Joe and Sophie who came as Paolo and Isabella from "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," and Emma Roberts who came as clown Hannah Stocking.

All Yung Bleu wanted was a baby monkey ... instead, he mistakenly ended up with a baby baboon -- which grows quite a bit bigger -- but he's crossing his fingers and trying to make it work.

We got the "You're Mines Still" rapper at SIXTY LES Hotel in NYC and our guy asked him about his little monkey mix-up.

Bleu says the guy he got the pet from told him it was a monkey, but when he started showing the critter off on social media, folks turned him on to what was really going on ... and a quick Google search confirmed he'd been misled.

But, YB tells us he's not mad about what he considers false advertising ... and it's pretty clear in the video he's got a special connection with the baboon, which he's named Moon Vandross.

Sounds like he could have been in a worse spot -- Bleu tells us why this specific type of baboon won't grow up to be a big problem. He hopes.

Kim Kardashian had a night out of fun with a big group of pals -- including Pete Davidson, who was along for the ride ... literally.

KK hit Knott's Berry Farm Friday night with Pete, Kourtney, Travis Barker, Tracy Romulus, her husband, Stephanie Shepherd, Harry Hudson and a couple of other friends of PD's ... who were going through mazes and getting on rides too.

Check out this video, obtained by TMZ, of Pete and Kim getting off one rollercoaster together ... where they shared a cart, sitting side by side. As you can see, Kim was tryin to be all incognito -- but eyewitnesses recognized her nonetheless.

There's no PDA or anything here, and that's for a reason -- sources with direct knowledge tell us Kim and Pete are NOT dating, they're simply friends ... and have been for a while, well before her 'SNL' appearance. Everyone, we're told, was invited by Kourt and Trav.

Although people on the ground who saw them enter and exit this ride tell us Kim and Pete appeared to be somewhat isolated from the group (almost as if they were a couple) ... our sources say there's no truth to that assumption. They're not romantically involved at all.

Quincy Jones once claimed the Beatles were sucky musicians -- but that must've been aimed at everyone besides Ringo Starr ... because the dude was clearly ahead of his time.

Check out this viral TikTok video from @grahamethedrummer, who breaks down what the band's drummer could've done on famous tunes of theirs ... and what he actually did on the final product. It's pretty obvious -- RS was going above and beyond for their songs.

Graham argues it would've been easy for Ringo to phone it in on the drums if he wanted to -- showing he could've played along to their melodies with simple drum beats that kept pace, but instead ... opted for ingenious patterns that elevated the arrangements.

He showcases what one might see a basic drummer do for tracks like "I Feel Fine," "Ticket to Ride," "Getting Better All the Time" and "Come Together" ... and then contrasts that with what Ringo actually did in real-life ... unique drumming that made the songs stand out.

The TikToker likens this level of drum playing to a "superpower" ... and each time he notes, "What Ringo did was way cooler." The internet seems to agree, BTW -- singing RS's praises ... with some saying he's grossly underrated in the pantheon of drummer greats.

Move over Danny Ocean, 'cause there's a new pair of thieves in town that are giving him a run for his money in the criminal world -- but their big score isn't a casino ... it's vino!!!

A man and woman posing as a couple made off with an incredibly rare bottle of French wine that's 215 years old ... and valued at $407,000. That's not all though -- they also got away with at least 6 other bottles from the 19th century, which are worth a pretty penny too.

Here's what happened ... the guy and gal -- whom are reported to have been English speakers, and acted "refined" -- visited the Atrio restaurant/hotel in Caceres, Spain ... a Michelin-starred place famous for its top-notch wine collection that they keep in a cellar.

They checked in at some point last week, deciding to dine in the attached eatery -- and, at one point, asked the front desk hotel clerk to serve them more food ... who then ran back to the kitchen, leaving security cameras unmonitored. That's when they made their hit.

Cops say the guy went down to their cellar and smuggled out 7 bottles, including the high-priced 1806 Chateau d'Yquem ... a dessert wine from the Sauternes district of Bordeaux. They checked out early Wednesday ... paying with a credit card, and leaving with a fat haul.

No word on how much exactly all 7 bottles are worth combined ... but it sounds like it might be well north of half a mill, at the very least. Folks there believe they were very much so professionals ... and pulling a heist on behalf of a wine collector of some sort.

Reason for the latter ... Atrio's owner says the $400k bottle is very well known on the market as their property, and it cannot be easily sold publicly without major flags being raised. So, either somebody wants it all for themselves, or is planning to sell it on the black market.

Robert Durst is looking worse for wear since being shipped off to a California prison facility -- and based on how he's looking here ... he ain't gonna be in a cell for a long while.

The recently-convicted NY real estate scion posed for his first mug shot Thursday while apparently in a hospital bed of some sort. In the photo, obtained by TMZ, you can see Durst with his face mask pulled down to his chin ... and him solemnly looking into the camera.

Obviously, he appears quite frail and ill ... as he has been for some time now, but this is especially bad. Remember, the guy is recovering from a COVID-19 diagnosis that came down some 2 weeks ago, which saw him have to be relegated to a ventilator for oxygen.

As for where Durst is now ... he's been transferred from the L.A. County jail system to the California Health Care Facility in Stockton -- which is part of the CA state prison system, and which takes in and attends to their most health-impaired inmates.

Durst was taken to Stockton on Wednesday.

Durst was found guilty of murdering his friend, Susan Berman, just a few weeks ago -- and was handed a life sentence as a result.

Berman's killing is believed to have been tied to the 1982 disappearance of his then-wife, Kathy, whom many believed was also offed by Durst ... albeit, he was never officially implicated, until last week.

It appears prosecutors think they finally have the goods to pin him to the crime -- 'cause they filed charges against him after all these years ... so that case will play out in the future.

Social media star Lil Terrio is slimming down after making some big changes in his life ... and his weight loss journey is rooted in his improved diet and ramped-up workouts.

Lil Terrio's manager, Jon Barclan, and personal trainer, Kipp Luster, tell TMZ ... Terrio has lost a shocking amount of weight in the last 2 months. He's 231 lbs. now, down from 360 lbs.!!!

Nearly 130 lbs. lost in about 60 days, means dude's shedding just over 2 lbs. per day -- and Terrio's team says that's thanks to working out 6 times a week, sometimes hitting the gym even twice a day. He's also doing high-intensity interval training to get his heart rate up and burn fat.

We're told Terrio's also reaping the benefits of a custom meal plan curated by his trainer ... a diet high on protein and fiber, and low on carbs. Terrio's mostly eating seafood and chicken, plus a lot of fruits and vegetables, while staying away from beef and pork.

The results are happening pretty fast, we're told Terrio completely changed his diet starting Sept. 1 ... retraining his taste buds after being addicted to carbs and sugars and needing about 3 weeks to settle into his new diet.

We're told Terrio -- who rose to social media fame in part because he was young, funny and overweight -- wanted to make a big life change after getting to the age where he started understanding life and health and decided he wanted to get fit.

With a huge mass of followers, we're told he wanted to be a positive influence on kids and be the face of overcoming childhood obesity, and the changes go beyond the scale. We're told he's mentally and physically stronger, emotionally happier and more comfortable with himself.

Somewhere in Hollywood right now, Deon Cole is still laughing -- at least we think so, based on his reaction to a hot-button Dave Chappelle topic we threw out to him.

The comedian and "Black-ish" star was bolting from The Ivy Thursday afternoon in WeHo when we asked what he thought about Chappelle's (half-joking, we think) demand for Netflix employees to admit fellow comic Hannah Gadsby is not funny, before he agrees to meet with them.

Admittedly, that could be a tough question for Deon, who's friends with Chappelle -- but tours a lot of comedy clubs too, and could run into Hannah from time to time.

Nevertheless, he responded, but you really gotta see how. This isn't just top-notch deflecting -- it's straight-up funny!!!

You'll recall ... Hannah fired the first shot at Dave, describing "The Closer" Netflix special as his "emotionally stunted partial world view."

Ex-NBA star Metta Sandiford-Artest is giving his stamp of approval on Facebook's new look ... saying it's an awesome change!!

Mark Zuckerberg just announced Thursday his company is switching to "Meta" ... as it plans to expand from social media to the "metaverse."

Of course, shortly after the change was made public, the NBA champ's name started to trend ... with jokes starting to pour in.

But, Metta finally shared his thoughts on the company's similar name ... tweeting, "Very happy that @Meta is doing this. Metta / Meta is an awesome name."

Metta adds he's excited to see what Zuck's company does moving forward.

"I was literally working, and my phone was ringing non stop. Lol. Congrats FB / #meta."

The company responded to the shoutout ... saying, "Best name ever, right? Can't wait to see you on court in the meTTaverse."

An Amazon driver's now jobless after a video went viral of a woman slipping out the backdoor of his delivery truck ... sparking racy speculation about what she and the driver were doing.

The clip, shot in a Florida neighborhood, shows a woman in a black dress and flip-flops hopping out the rear door. Worth nothing, the Amazon delivery guy's quite the gentleman ... he holds the door open for her.

It's unclear who the woman is, or exactly why she was inside the truck -- but Amazon certainly didn't think it was prime conduct by the driver.

A rep for the company tells us, "This does not reflect the high standards we have for our Delivery Service Partners and their drivers. Allowing unauthorized passengers to enter delivery vehicles is a violation of Amazon policy, and the driver is no longer delivering packages to Amazon customers.”

Klay Thompson won’t let people forget that he was left off the NBA’s 75th-Anniversary team any time soon ... 'cause he showed up to the Warriors practice rocking a #77 Jackie Moon jersey!!

Remember, Klay said he was going to channel Will Ferrell's "Semi-Pro" character this season ... saying, "We goin full Jackie Moon this year."

While Moon sports #33, Klay repped #77, which he's been trolled with after being left off the NBA's 75th-anniversary team.

Thompson wasn’t pleased when the list (which had 76 players due to a tie) dropped at the beginning of the season ... saying, "Maybe I'm just naïve in my ability to play basketball, but in my head, I'm TOP 75 of all time."

Thompson has a reason to be pissed -- he's a 3-time champ, 5-time All-Star, holds the record for most points in a quarter, the most 3 pointers made in a game and is tied for most 3-pointers made in a single playoff (98) with his teammate, Stephen Curry.

Despite his beef with the list, that didn’t stop his teammates -- Curry and Draymond Green -- from having fun at his expense.

Steph and Dray left a #77 jersey with Thompson on the back in Klay’s locker as the Dubs prepared for practice earlier this week … and Klay, being the good sport that he is, decided to roll with the joke.
