Elijah McClain 3 Cops Fired Over Chokehold Photo ... Mocking His Death

A total of 4 Aurora PD officers are out of a job after the interim police chief fired 3 Friday over a photo scandal ... in which the cops reenacted a chokehold at the site of Elijah McClain's violent arrest that led to his death.

Chief Vanessa Wilson canned 2 of the 3 cops in the picture -- Erica Marrero and Kyle Dittrich -- after the third officer, Jaron Jones, resigned earlier this week. Jason Rosenblatt, the officer who received the photo in a text, was also fired for replying with a "ha ha" ... according to Wilson.

The 3 cops posed for the selfie October 20 ... near a memorial to McClain, who died after an arrest in August 2019 in which he was put into a carotid chokehold and lost consciousness, and was later given a strong sedative.

Elijah, who was simply walking home with an iced tea he had just purchased, suffered 2 heart attacks on the way to the hospital and lost brain function. He died days later.

Police released 2 photos of the cops clowning around at the memorial site in October. The one where they appear to reenact the chokehold given to McClain was reportedly sent to Rosenblatt to cheer him up.

Shortly after it was announced an investigation into McClain's death was going to be reopened, an internal investigation was launched over the photo. The officers in question had been on paid administrative leave since June 25.

The Aurora Police Association union has spoken out against Chief Wilson's decision to fire the officers, claiming it was done too quickly and without due process. It adds ... "The appearance of impropriety is obvious."

Kacey Musgraves Divorcing Husband, Ruston Kelly ... After 2 Years

Kacey Musgraves' marriage to her singer-songwriter husband was less of a slow burn and more of a flame that went out quickly ... she's getting divorced after 2 1/2 years.

The Grammy-winning country star and musician Ruston Kelly have filed for divorce -- according to reps for both singers -- and say they've "made this painful decision together."

Kacey and Ruston released a statement to AP saying ... "With heavy but hopeful hearts we wanted to put our own thoughts into the air about what’s happening. These kinds of announcements are always met with scrutiny and speculation and we want to stop that before it even starts."

It continues ... "We believe that we were put into each other’s lives for a divine reason and have both changed each other infinitely for the better. The love we have for each other goes far beyond the relationship we’ve shared as husband and wife. It’s a soul connection that can never be erased."

The exes add that the decision to divorce is a "healthy decision that comes after a very long period of trying the best we can. It simply just didn’t work." They say they will remain true friends.

The couple wed in October 2017 in Tennessee, after meeting in Nashville in early 2016.

There were signs things were on the rocks as early as November 2019, when Kacey brought Gigi Hadid to the Country Music Awards as her date. The following month, Kacey removed her wedding photos on Instagram and Ruston did the same.

Kacey and her husband are the latest celebs to call it quits on their marriage during the days of quarantine ... following Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari, Kelly Clarkson, Dr. Dre, Christina Ricci and just earlier Friday, Jennifer Grey and Clark Gregg announced they were a couple no more.

Beverly Hills Surgeon & GF Charged in $52 Mil Insurance Fraud Scheme ... New Mug Shots

Here are the faces of a Beverly Hills doctor and his girlfriend, who allegedly stole $52 MILLION in an elaborate scheme that preyed on sober living patients to bilk insurance companies.

Dr. Randy Rosen and his GF, Liza Vismanos, were arrested earlier this week and have been charged with a staggering amount of felonies in 2 separate cases connected to the alleged scheme.

Rosen's facing 88 felony counts in connection with recruiting and hiring numerous body brokers to find and pay patients to have medically unnecessary implant surgeries, cortisone shots and other medical testing and procedures ... according to the Orange County D.A.'s Office.

Vismanos is facing 56 felony counts as Rosen's alleged partner in the scheme. She's also the owner of the Lotus Laboratories in Los Alamitos, CA ... which Rosen allegedly used for unnecessary drug testing for his patients.

Four others have also been charged in connection with identifying and recruiting potential patients for the bogus medical procedures.

According to prosecutors ... several insurance companies were then billed for these unnecessary procedures, but not informed that patients were being trafficked and paid for these procedures. The D.A. claims the insurance companies were fraudulently billed approximately $600 million and paid out approximately $50 million.

OC D.A. Todd Spitzer says of the case ... "Vulnerable sober living patients who were trying desperately to battle their addictions were treated like human guinea pigs just to make a buck."

Both Rosen and Vismanos are still in custody. Rosen's bail's been set at $16 million and his girlfriend's at $3 million.

World's Oldest Cat Rubble Dead at 31

Sad news in the feline world -- Rubble, believed to be the world's oldest cat, has gone to kitty heaven ... and his owner is heartbroken.

The fluffy orange-and-white Maine Coon was gifted to Michele Heritage of England on her 20th birthday, and he was her beloved pet every day after that ... for 31 long and happy years.

That's approximately the same as 150 in human years!!!

Rubble became the world's oldest cat in May 2019 when he reached his 31st bday, but Michele revealed he died before making it to 32. He had no specific health issues, but according to his owner he became very thin and simply passed from old age.

Michele credits his long life to the fact that she never had children but pampered him like he was her kid.

Rubble beat the oldest living cat record previously held by Scooter, a Siamese cat in Texas, who was named the record breaker at the age of 30 by the Guinness Book of World Records before he died in 2016.

The oldest cat of all time according to the record books is Creme Puff ... who died in 2005 at the whopping age of 38.

Michele says she never went the Guinness Book route with Rubble, though, because it wasn't of interest and she just wanted to spend time with him as he grew older.

RIP, Rubble.

Washington Redskins Maybe It's Time to Change Our Name

It's finally happening ... it looks like one of the big holdouts in the movement to 86 offensive names and imagery from our lexicon is about to go down, because it looks like the Washington Redskins may be FINALLY changing their name.

The team's owner, Dan Snyder, said his org will “undergo a thorough review of the team’s name” ... this as the Redskins have encountered a tidal wave of criticism.

Snyder said, “This process allows the team to take into account not only the proud tradition and history of the franchise but also input from our alumni, the organization, sponsors, the National Football League and the local community it is proud to represent on and off the field."

And there's more ... Ron Rivera, the head coach, added this ... “This issue is of personal importance to me and I look forward to working closely with Dan Snyder to make sure we continue the mission of honoring and supporting Native Americans and our Military.”

This all feels like things are now teed up for a name change, and not a minute too soon. FedEx -- whose name is on the stadium -- asked the team to change the name. Ditto Nike, that removed all Redskins merch.

The times, they are a changin'.

Mystic Inn Brutal Racial Attack

6/26/20
DESPICABLE ATTACK

The Mystic Quality Inn in Stonington, Connecticut was the site of a brutal attack against a black woman, and she's lawyered up for justice.

Chrystal Caldwell was working the front desk when a guest reportedly called, complaining there was no hot water in his room. He also allegedly threatened Chrystal, warning her his girlfriend would "kick her ass." She says she offered to send someone to fix the problem or alternatively, to switch their room, but they were outraged ... calling her names, including "monkey."

The man and his girlfriend reportedly barreled down to the lobby area and attacked her with multiple punches to the head and kicks to the back. She says he used racial slurs as he pummeled her.

Chrystal, who has worked at the hotel for 7 years, says her injuries include a concussion.

The couple who attacked Chrystal left the hotel and no arrests were made.

Black Lives Matter 6-Year-Old Kicked Out of School ... Over BLM Shirt

A child was booted from her daycare because she wore a shirt promoting the Black Lives Matter movement.

6-year-old Journei Brockman had been enrolled in daycare at Arkansas' His Kids Preschool for 6 months. The little girl wore a shirt to the school with the words, "Black Lives Matter" emblazoned on it.

Her mom, Deval Brockman, told Fox16 she was contacted by an employee from the school who had issues with the shirt, saying she didn't like it. Brockman says she was told her daughter should not wear the shirt to school again.

Journei came to school a week ago, wearing a shirt with an image of a raised fist. Brockman says when she returned to pick up her daughter, she was told, Journei could not come back. Brockman says someone from the staff told her the shirt encouraged racism.

She also says the school's director schooled her, by saying, "I am not going to tell you how to raise your child, but you need to reevaluate how you're parenting her."

Brockman has filed a complaint with the state. As for the school Director, Patricia Brown told Fox16 ... "We feel a childcare environment is not a place for a parent's political views to be addressed or played out, regardless of race."

Brockman fires back ... “If I’m supporting something, I’m going to wear it, my child is going to wear it, to help say that our voice needs to be heard."

Massachusetts City First to Recognize Polyamorous Relationships

A city near Boston is the first in the country to recognize polyamorous relationships ... i.e., more than 2 people.

Somerville, Massachusetts passed an ordinance changing the definition of relationships that are recognized by the government. Domestic partnerships have been defined as an "entity formed by 2 persons," but the new definition reads a relationship "formed by people."

The ordinance also replaces pronouns -- no longer "he" or "she" ... it's now "they."

Short story ... the ordinance allows for more than 2 people in a domestic partnership.

The new ordinance was actually inspired by the coronavirus pandemic. There were residents of Somerville who were not married, and as a result, they could not visit their partners in the hospital because of restrictions on visitors.

The mayor signed the ordinance a few days ago ... it should be just a matter of days until polyamorous partners can file for domestic partnership.

BTW ... Massachusetts was the first state to recognize same-sex marriage back in 2004.

NY Giants Hire 1st Female Scout In Team's 95-Year History!!!

The NY Giants hired a new full-time scout -- which usually isn't newsworthy ... unless that person is the FIRST FEMALE SCOUT in the team's 95-year history!

The team announced 25-year-old Hannah Burnett has joined the organization as their Midlands scout, a full-time position.

Burnett started as an intern for the Buffalo Bills in 2017 and later jumped to the Atlanta Falcons, where she spent the previous 19 months working with their scouting department.

She recently interviewed with the Giants and crushed it -- and now, she's on the staff.

"The only thing I care about is for us to win the Super Bowl," Burnett said in an official team statement.

"Our main goal as a team is to win a Super Bowl. That's my goal, that's everybody's goal."

Burnett is also humble on breaking gender barriers in the NFL.

"I try not to think about that. I completely understand and am aware that this is an awesome opportunity, and it's important for females in the league. But I've said this from the get-go, I just want to be the best area scout that I can."

"I want to go in there like everyone else goes in there and go about my business like a pro. Everything else will work itself out if I go about my business the right way. For me, that's my mindset. It's always been my mindset. I'm just continuing to stay on that course."

By the way, Burnett was a star lacrosse player at the University of Massachusetts back in the day. Not only was she a team captain, she was a 2-time all-region and all-conference player and 3-time conference champion.

She also holds the UMass record for points in a game with 10.

Congrats!!
