A food bank in Texas is overflowing with cars and hungry families looking for their next meal in desperate times ... and the line to get grub looks like a parking lot.

The sobering scene played out Thursday in San Antonio, where the city's food bank prepared to serve 6,000 families at Trader's Village ... and then an extra 4,000 households showed up with their hands out.

The line to get the free food and the overwhelming demand were more than officials expected for San Antonio's fourth drive-thru food distribution giveaway. Some folks even got in line the night before the 10 AM event, and as you can see, that was a savvy decision.

Fortunately, everyone was served and no one was turned away ... all they had to do was wait for hours in their cars in the sweltering Texas heat.

The food bank says it hasn't seen this large a line or this big of a crisis in 25 years ... and it's all because of the coronavirus, which has put about 10% of the country's workforce out of work and closed schools, which feed lots of kids.

And, get this .... the food bank says it distributed over a million pounds of food, and it's gonna need federal or state aid to keep operating. Jeff Bezos is donating $100 million to stock our nation's food banks, but it sounds like they need a lot more help.

Lindsie Chrisley's sad her father, Todd Chrisley, caught the coronavirus and could have died -- but says even that's not enough for them to patch things up.

Our first clue on how deep the rift is -- Lindsie tells TMZ ... she found out about Todd's diagnosis through social media. She says people actually asked her if she was happy he'd been diagnosed with COVID-19.

As we reported ... Todd went to urgent care and eventually the ER as he battled the deadly disease for several weeks. He says "this bitch called corona" really kicked his ass.

Lindsie says she's glad he's feeling better. That being said, she doesn't feel this episode will change their relationship for the better. You gotta see how she puts it, but essentially it's ... what's done is done.

As you know ... Lindsie and Todd have been on the outs since last year when she accused him of sex tape extortion, and he's accused her of wrongdoing in his tax case.

Lindsie also says she's almost certain she too battled the virus back in mid-March. She says she "felt like death" ... the worst she's ever felt in her life. But, she never got tested for the virus because, at the time, none were available.

Gwyneth Paltrow couldn't throw her son a huge birthday bash with the coronavirus guidelines, so she set up the next best thing ... a driveway parade in his honor.

Gwyneth and Chris Martin's boy, Moses, celebrated his 14th bday Wednesday, and instead of eating cake and opening presents surrounded by his friends ... they drove by honking their horns and playing music for him instead.

Socially distant and totally responsible.

Moses' pals also came bearing balloons and handmade signs, and pulled off a drive-by candy delivery to boot.

Paltrow gushed about her son, saying ... "He is the kindest little man and he has the most unique way of looking at the world and expressing himself." She added ... "I hope you never stop hugging me goodbye when you go into the next room. I love you."

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's dad are bonding over a ring ... in the driveway, that is.

Shawn and Camila's dad, Alejandro, spent some QT Wednesday in Miami building a basketball hoop. Shawn handles the task shirtless and barefoot -- the way his fans, and probably Camila, like him.

Mr. singer-songwriter looked every bit the handyman, too. No sign of Camila around, but we know she was close. The couple's been in quarantine together -- as we saw during the iHeart Living Room Concert last week.

The couple also surprised a bunch of kids at Children's National Hospital in D.C. ... singing to them and answering their questions -- that was all before quarantines, of course.

Tiger Woods didn't let the pandemic stop one of the greatest traditions in golf -- the Masters Champions dinner -- only this time, it was WAY smaller than usual.

Every year, the reigning Masters champ hosts a lavish dinner for his rival golfers at Augusta National ... and the winner usually customizes the menu with meaningful (and usually pricey) food items.

Since coronavirus threw a huge wrench in this year's plans, Tiger pivoted -- and threw a much smaller dinner for his girlfriend, Erica Herman, and his kids, Sam and Charlie.

"Masters Champions Dinner quarantine style," Tiger says ... "Nothing better than being with family."

Woods even busted out his Green Jacket for the meal -- another tradition he's dead set on carrying on! Did you notice the replica trophy on the table?!

Unclear exactly what he served up, but it looks like Tiger had some sushi, some meat ... and cupcakes!!

By the way, the 2020 Masters has been postponed to November -- with the Champions Dinner tentatively scheduled to go down on Nov. 10 ... as long as the pandemic is over by then.

NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns' mother, Jackie, remains in the ICU and continues to fight her battle with coronavirus ... this according to KAT's old college coach, John Calipari.

The Minnesota Timberwolves center revealed his mother's health status 2 weeks ago ... saying his mom had been placed in a medically induced coma due to complications from  COVID-19.

“Her lungs were getting worse, her cough was getting worse. She was deteriorating," KAT said at the time.

Cal provided the first update on Jackie Monday afternoon saying she continues to receive treatment at the hospital.

“I would say to everybody out there ... Ms. Jackie, Karl Towns’ mother, is still in that hospital. She's fighting, she's there," Calipari said Monday.

“We get updates, every single day we get an update from Karl Sr. about how she’s doing from the nurses at the ICU.”

Cal has one request for everyone ... to keep praying and send positive thoughts towards KAT's family.

Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford have just given up a sweet deal in order to help out a couple that was buying their home ... a couple that desperately wanted to cancel the deal and get their money back ... TMZ has learned.

Rande and Cindy were selling one of the homes they own in Malibu -- not the one they live in, but a nearby property they've had for years. They made a deal with a couple from Europe for $6.5 million ... a really good price.

Thing is ... with the pandemic and travel restrictions to and from Europe, the couple reached out to Rande and Cindy and asked if they could cancel. We're told the famous couple told the buyers they were all in this together, so they canceled the deal and returned the deposit.

It's becoming a big bone of contention surrounding the pandemic ... when can someone cancel a contract due to the virus? This is not an Act of God -- that's limited to natural disasters. If anything applies, it's called force majeure -- an unforeseeable circumstance that prevents someone from fulfilling a contract. For example, it frees people from their contracts if there are extraordinary events beyond the control of the parties, like war, strikes, riots and the plague.

There are a number of businesses that are not allowing people to exercise the force majeure clause to get out of contracts -- airlines, cruise ships, apartments ... people are having trouble.

Celebrity chef Thomas Keller from French Laundry fame is suing his insurance company to get a declaration from a judge that insurance companies must pay for the losses these businesses are suffering under the force majeure clause ... some insurance companies have resisted, arguing the reason things have tanked is because the government decided on a shutdown, and that was voluntary. Obviously, that misses the point that this is life or death. Plus, the plague has been covered by force majeure in the past, and there's really no difference between that and a deadly virus.

As for Rande and Cindy, they are really doing their part in their hometown. Rande's keeping his Malibu restaurant, Cafe Habana, open for takeout and his employees are getting paid.

Going beyond what's legally required ... that's called chipping in and doing the right thing.

NFL agent Buddy Baker -- who's repped stars like Doug Baldwin and Jack Doyle -- lost both his parents to COVID-19 on Sunday ... and now, he's begging the public to help stop others from suffering the same fate.

Baker posted an emotional video Tuesday explaining the tragic news ... saying both his mom and dad were in "perfect health" just a few weeks ago.

Sadly, he says, both contracted coronavirus ... and the two -- who were married for 51 years -- died from complications of the disease just six minutes apart on Sunday.

Now, Baker is pleading with others to practice social distancing, self-isolation and quarantining in order to help stop the spread of the disease to others.

"We live in a world of, 'It can’t happen to me, it can’t happen to us, it can’t happen to my family,'" Baker said. "Well, it happened to us."

He added, "I’d like to take this time to make people start thinking about making a change."

Several of Baker's clients backed the agent on social media Tuesday, with Redskins star Terry McLaurin retweeting Baker's message with a prayer emoji.

Chris Cuomo says his initial coronavirus symptoms are very similar to the flu ... and now he's worried about passing the virus along to his family as they quarantine at home.

The CNN anchor just gave Anderson Cooper the lowdown on his diagnosis ... explaining he first thought he was dealing with flu-like symptoms -- fever, chills, shortness of breath -- until his doctor dropped some knowledge on him.

It is interesting -- maybe even ironic -- Chris mentioned it feeling flu-like. As you know, CNN and others have given President Trump loads of crap, rightfully so, for initially downplaying coronavirus as just another flu, and no reason for Americans to worry.

Sure, the symptoms can be similar, but these are still two vastly different health issues ... and Chris says it makes it a lot easier for the virus to sneak up on ya. Scary stuff.

It's pretty alarming ... Chris says he's terrified his wife and children could become infected because they're all living under the same roof.

Chris is a trooper, so he's still anchoring his CNN show from his basement as long as he feels up to it ... and we gotta say, his work-from-home setup looks pretty sweet. Not a bad basement to be stuck in for a few weeks.

While Chris remains confident he can beat this thing, he explains why everyone needs to feel a sense of urgency right now.

The coronavirus pandemic's not just forcing people to stay home ... it's also keeping children from finding their forever homes.

Leaders of several L.A.-based nonprofit organizations supporting adoptive and foster families, tell TMZ ... essentially, the entire adoption system in the city is at a standstill. They say it's happening in many other parts of the country too.

Of course, adoption is a lengthy legal process to begin with, but we're told court closures are making it downright agonizing. Case in point, a family just one hearing away from finalizing an adoption might now have to wait several months.

As we reported, the L.A. courts are near-paralyzed -- you can't even enter the downtown courthouse to file a lawsuit. Instead, one court staffer is posted up outside to receive documents.

Foster children are also in limbo due to a recent court order in L.A. banning face-to-face visitations with their biological parents. The order's intent is to prevent the spread of the virus, but the problem is those visits increase the likelihood parents can reunite with their kids. That's simply not happening now.

Likewise, an executive with Alliance for Children’s Rights tells TMZ ... one of its main initiatives is putting together "Adoption Days" -- a day where courtrooms are solely devoted to expediting adoptions out of foster care and into permanent homes.

The next one's scheduled for May 15, but we're told it will likely be postponed by the pandemic.

Rich Valenza, executive director of Raise a Child, says the court delays could have a psychological impact on kids because, "They might be wrongfully blaming themselves for these changes, which they had no impact on."

Even though virtual meetings between foster parents and kids are possible ... an exec from Children's Action Network says, "Foster parents can have limited resources, and you can't assume they have the tools to move into this essential virtual universe."
