Claus von Bulow, the man who was convicted but walked free -- after his conviction was overturned -- and ultimately acquitted of trying to murder his wife ... has died.

The trial was one of the most sensational of the 20th century. Von Bulow was charged with deliberately injecting insulin into wife Sunny in 1980, sending her into an irreversible coma.

Prosecutors claimed Claus wanted to do Sunny in so he could inherit her fortune and continue his relationship with his mistress, a soap opera actress.

Von Bulow was convicted the first time around and sentenced to 30 years in prison, and then was famously represented on appeal by Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz. He successfully argued items were illegally seized and the notes from key witness interviews had not been turned over to the defense.

The story riveted the nation, and became the subject of "Reversal of Fortune," which chronicles the murder and Dershowitz's appeal. Jeremy Irons, who played Claus, won an Oscar for Best Actor.

Claus was retried and found not guilty in 1985. He moved to Europe where he died.

There's something about watching UFC legend Michael Bisping punching his hands through a fat guy's doughy belly that's just captivating ...

This little fight session went down on the set of Cinemax series "Warrior" in Cape Town, South Africa -- where Bisping has a role as a smack-talking violent badass (what a stretch, right?)

In this particular scene, Bisping squared up with Kazakhstani stunt man Erden Telemisov -- but when the cameras stopped rolling, the two guys decided to have a little play fight of their own.

Bisping talked trash and then threw a flurry right into Erden's gut -- and watch the blubber fly!!!

Disneyland is bringing the galaxy far, far away closer than ever ... and Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian and Han Solo simply couldn't miss it.

The famed California theme park is launching a new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction, and 3 of the biggest stars from the franchise -- Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams -- joined creator George Lucas to cut the ribbon on the hyped up fantasy world.

The 4 'Star Wars' legends took the stage together Wednesday to welcome the first guests to the planet Batuu ... with the Millennium Falcon as a fitting backdrop.

Disney CEO Bob Iger introduced Lucas first to speak to the crowd about Galaxy's Edge ... which he referred to as "Star Tours on steroids." Star Tours was the first 'Star Wars'-themed ride at the park -- it opened a long time ago ... in 1986.

Williams and Hamill spoke after that, with Mark saying this was the first time he's been to a grand opening event since Star Tours.

Then it was time to fire up the Falcon, but there were technical difficulties ... which was Ford's cue to enter. Harrison gave the space ship a couple hard whacks to get it going ... and gave a shout-out to the late Chewbacca actor, Peter Mayhew.

Phase One of Galaxy's Edge opens Friday -- which includes the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride and all the shops and restaurants. Another major ride, Rise of the Resistance, will open later in 2019 as part of Phase Two.

William H. Macy is celebrating his baby girl's high school graduation, but the party's gonna have a little black cloud -- the college admissions scandal that's likely to land her mom, Felicity Huffman, in prison.

William was out Wednesday in WeHo picking up graduation balloons ... most likely for his 18-year-old daughter, Sophia Grace, who's wrapping up this week at Los Angeles High School of the Arts. Of course, Sophia's higher education is directly linked to the scandal.

As we've reported ... Felicity Huffman pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud as well as honest services mail fraud -- all for paying Rick Singer $15k to rig Sophia's SAT test. The feds say she got twice the amount of time as normal to take the test and the proctor corrected answers afterward.

We're guessing college won't be a hot topic at the party.

Macy said earlier this year -- before the federal indictment -- Sophia might take a gap year after she was admitted to a university. Felicity, who'll be sentenced in September, has said Sophia was unaware of the scheme to boost her test results.

Unclear what the college plan is now, but at least Sophia and her folks can celebrate this graduation.

Mandy Moore is getting some super cool social media content on her way up Mount Everest, but Sal Masekela says she's also putting herself in danger ... and she might not make it down alive!!!

We got the former X Games host at LAX Wednesday and asked him about the recent deaths at Mt. Everest ... and Sal delivers a dire warning to rich people who are climbing just for the social media snap -- and for Mandy, who just reached Everest's base camp.

This climbing season has already resulted in 11 deaths in the Himalayas, with the latest casualty an American lawyer. The way Sal sees it, even the most elite athletes can succumb to Everest's harsh conditions ... so Mandy's gotta be extra cautious, even though she's being guided by experts.

5:15 PM PT -- We just got Chazz Palminteri in NYC, and he told us he's glad he got the chance to work with Carmine ... calling him a really great man.

Chazz also feels Carmine should be reinstated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

9:53 AM PT -- Carmine's manager tells us, "From Broadway, to film and television, Carmine spent over six decades entertaining audiences, and nothing made him happier. His talent, wit, warmth, and charm will be missed. Carmine passed peacefully, surrounded by friends and family."

"Perhaps Carmine's biggest regret was his involvement in a scandal that left him expelled from The Motion Picture Academy. While exonerated by police and the FBI, Carmine was always deeply saddened by what had transpired."

9:10 AM PT -- A rep for Carmine tells us he had actually been at Cedars-Sinai since April 25 when he took a nasty fall. He had been getting treatment for back injuries, but after nearly a month in the hospital he came down with pneumonia.

We're told he was diagnosed last Thursday, and although doctors felt he was stable enough for release on Friday ... his health started going south on Saturday.

Although some of Carmine's friends have posted he was in a coma, the rep said he was responsive up until the day before his death.

Carmine Caridi has died from complications suffered during hospitalization for a bad fall ... TMZ has learned.

The 'Godfather' actor -- who played Carmine Rosato in the first sequel -- was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A., and his health started slipping over the weekend. We're told he died on Wednesday. Carmine's friend, actor and director Chazz Palminteri, confirmed the passing to TMZ.

It's unclear what caused Carmine's health crisis.

Carmine is a veteran TV actor, who's starred in big shows like "Starsky and Hutch," "Taxi," "Fame" and "Simon & Simon." He also, notably, played Det. Vince Gotelli in "NYPD Blue."

Interestingly, he returned in "The Godfather Part III," but in a different role -- he played Albert Volpe that time around.

In total, Carmine has more than 100 acting credits over six decades in showbiz.

He's also known as one of the few people who've been expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for sharing movie screeners in '04 -- which became the butt of Jimmy Kimmel's joke during the 2018 Oscars ... when he compared Carmine to Harvey Weinstein.

Carmine took exception with Kimmel's crack, telling us he shouldn't have been put in the same category as Weinstein ... even if it was all in good fun.

Carmine was 85.

Thomas Markle is giving Lifetime's new movie on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry a scathing review -- calling it awful and chock full of made up crap.

Meghan's dad tells TMZ ... he's incredibly disappointed in how the Lifetime TV flick portrayed the Markle family drama leading up to last year's Royal Wedding, and feels personally attacked by the network.

"Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal" premiered on Lifetime over the Memorial Day weekend, and Thomas was NOT a fan.

Thomas insists he never bailed on the Royal Wedding -- contrary to how he thinks Lifetime made it look in the film -- and he's doubling down on his stance that he couldn't possibly attend the ceremony and walk Meghan down the aisle because of his heart surgery.

One of Thomas' biggest gripes is with the assertion he never told Meghan and Harry he couldn't make it to their wedding. He tells us that's simply not true, and he feels the movie is littered with tons of "dumb fiction."

Bottom line on Lifetime's movie, for Thomas, anyway -- it's light on facts, and heavy on fiction.

Pretty sure that's 2 thumbs down from him.

Josh Duhamel says he's in the market for a woman who can give him another kid or 2, and he's definitely found a new candidate ... at least based on the look of the YOUNG woman with him.

The actor was grabbing dinner Monday with a mystery brunette at Nobu in Malibu. There was no blatant PDA here, but it sure seems like it was a dinner date. It was only the 2 of 'em hanging out.

Here's what makes it super interesting -- Josh went on Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast late last year and said he wants to father more children, and if he settles down again it's gonna be with someone who's young enough to make it happen.

Funny enough, Josh had been seen getting cozy with actress Rebekah Graf right around that same time. They aren't hanging out so much these days -- case in point, these pics -- and it should also be noted that Rebekah is already 36 years old. Josh -- who's only got 1 kid so far with his ex, Fergie -- is 46.

We don't know how old this woman here is -- looks to be a 20-something, though -- but based on what he wants ... she might very well be the perfect fit.

9:32 AM PT -- We spoke with Odom on the way out of "The View" and asked him why he thinks Hof tried to kill him. Odom says he's still trying to find the answers.

9:03 AM PT -- Lamar Odom claims the late owner of the Nevada brothel where he OD'd in 2015 tried to kill him ... and Odom says his legal team already has proof to back up his claim.

Odom just appeared on "The View" where he said Dennis Hof -- who owned the Love Ranch -- "tried to kill me."

Long story short ... Odom is adamant he did not intentionally consume any drugs -- including cocaine -- on the day of his overdose and he believes Hof (or someone working for Hof) poisoned him.

"Dennis Hof, I don't know what he had against me but I didn't do drugs that night," Odom said.

"I don't know what he had against me ... he tried to kill me."

Odom says his attorney has already investigated the allegation and found workers at the brothel who back up his claim.

Hof died in October 2018 -- but in 2016, he told TMZ Sports he was a fan of Odom and invited him back to the Love Ranch for the VIP treatment.

We've reached out to Hof's reps regarding Odom's attempted murder claim -- but so far, no comment.

As we previously reported, police who investigated the 2015 overdose say prostitutes at the Love Ranch told them they had heard Odom snorting substances before the OD and had a "vague knowledge of him using illegal narcotics."

Investigators later confirmed the presence of cocaine in Odom's system -- but clearly, Odom says he did NOT knowingly take drugs that night.

Lamar Odom says he believes his wild life story is fit for the big screen -- and he's already had talks about turning his new autobiography into a movie.

Odom was arriving to "The View" in New York on Tuesday to promote his new book, "Darkness to Light" -- in which he talks about everything from drug addiction to sex addiction to his failed marriage with Khloe Kardashian.

Odom says he's already spoken with people about turning his story into a movie but didn't say who those talks were with.

He's not wrong ... Odom went from being an NBA superstar to a reality star before hitting rock bottom ... when he overdosed at a Nevada brothel in 2015.

Odom suffered several strokes and heart attacks and doctors didn't think he'd fully recover.

But, Odom beat the odds and now he's getting ready to play professional basketball again with the BIG3 league.

It's an amazing story ... and it seems like it's only a matter of time before it gets the full-length feature film treatment.

Joe Roth, one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood who's producing the upcoming "Maleficent," has filed for divorce ... TMZ has learned.

Joe, whose credits include "Snow White and the Huntsman," "Oz the Great and Powerful," Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management," "Heavy Weights" and "The Forgotten," filed Friday and his wife, Irene, filed her response at the same time.

Joe, the former Chairman of Walt Disney Studios, and Irene are both requesting joint custody of their 2 kids, a boy and a girl.

There's a lot of money on the line. Joe is the majority owner of the Seattle Sounders major league soccer team along with billionaire Paul Allen.

Based on the docs, it has all the signs the divorce has already been mediated. The address of the law firm is that of disso queen Laura Wasser, whose M.O. is to mediate and then file both a petition and response at the same time.

According to the docs, the issue of spousal support has not been resolved, however, based on what appears to be a full mediation, it seems like the book is closed on all financial issues.

Moby is ready to move on from his claim that he once dated, or tried dating, a young Natalie Portman ... 'cause he's got another hot topic up his sleeve: the planet.

The musician was questioned Monday by a pap in L.A. -- just a couple days after he publicly apologized for including Natalie in his new memoir. He drew a ton of backlash when she denied ever dating him in the '90s, despite his assertion they were kinda-almost a thing.

The pap gets to the meat of what many feel was left unanswered ... are the details of what he alleged true or not? Moby fully deflects ... switching gears to climate change.

In his mea culpa, Moby said ... "As some time has passed I've realized that many of the criticisms leveled at me regarding my inclusion of Natalie in Then It Fell Apart are very valid." He went on to say, "I also fully recognize that it was truly inconsiderate of me to not let her know about her inclusion in the book beforehand, and equally inconsiderate for me to not fully respect her reaction."

Worth noting ... Moby did NOT retract his characterization of their relationship -- which came off as romantic in his book. He paints it like they were circling a full-blown relationship ... saying they kissed a few times and slept in the same bed together once, until Natalie eventually told him she'd started seeing someone else.

Meanwhile, Natalie responded by saying the brief time she knew him wasn't anything close to dating. In fact, she labeled their dynamic at the time as "creepy." FWIW, she didn't specifically deny any of his details either ... other than to say she was 18 and not 20, as he recalled.

Will Smith is one of the biggest movie stars in the world, which makes it a little problematic when he wants to sneak into a theater to see his latest flick ... but he figured out a way.

Will slinked into a Calabasas theater just after the joint went dark for a showing of "Aladdin." Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden and Willow went along for the ride and with all the star power ... they went unnoticed ... UNTIL ...

When the movie ended, Will stood up and people went nuts. Will was swarmed by fans who went in for selfies and hugs.

Kevin Hart says he's known around the gym as "The Rock" for his sculpted body ... and he's claiming Dwayne Johnson stole the famous handle and pawned it off as his own!!!

We got Kevin Monday in New York City and asked about getting in great shape for some recent movie roles, and that's when Kevin dropped a bombshell ... Dwayne's NOT the original 'Rock.'

Ya gotta see Kevin's reaction when our guy suggests the comedian needs a cool nickname like Dwayne's ... he's visually shocked and upset, imploring Dwayne he's got some 'splainin' to do!!!

We also wanted Kevin's take on Chris Rock crossing over to horror films and signing up to produce the next "Saw" chapter ... and gauged Kev's interest in getting involved with scary movies himself. Sounds like Kevin's got some demons to face before going down that road.

Zion Williamson hasn't set foot on an NBA court yet and he already has a shoe and movie deal offer, courtesy of Master P and Romeo.

... but only if Zion actually comes to New Orleans.

We got the father-son duo out in Los Angeles, and they told us they have a role all carved out for Zion in the sequel to their comedy flick "I Got The Hook-Up 2," which comes out in July.

"I have a beautiful idea, we need to get Zion in 'I Got The Hook-Up 3.'"

The movie features Jeezy, Michael Blackson, A.J. Johnson, D.C. Young Fly, Jennifer Lee and a host of others -- and P and Romeo want Zion.

But, that wasn't all ... P had another offer for Williamson from his shoe company, MoneYatti.

"I know Zion gonna get a big shoe deal from Nike or Adidas or whatever. We gonna get him a deal just to have to wear shoes outside of basketball."

Question is, how much is P willing to pay?

"Just to wear it on the side, not in the game, I'm saying $20 [million]."

You heard it, $20 million shoe deal plus a movie role, all if Zion ends up in New Orleans -- which has the #1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Quentin Tarantino just snapped at the Cannes Film Festival again -- and by that, we mean snapping open a lighter and burning a mean-looking cigar after some bad press this week.

The veteran director was spotted hanging out solo Saturday on Nikki Beach in the South of France, where he was enjoying the final day of the festival after debuting his newest flick, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," a few days earlier.

Eyewitnesses say Tarantino was minding his business while he sucked down the stogie. We're told he had a glass in his hand too, but it's unclear if or what he might've been drinking. More importantly, he looks totally relaxed despite a testy exchange he got into Wednesday.

After the 'OUATIH' screening, QT and the rest of the main cast -- including Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio -- hit the podium to answer questions from the media. One reporter noted Margot Robbie's character -- Sharon Tate -- didn't have very many lines throughout the film, and asked why that came to be.

Quentin answered curtly, "Well, I just reject your hypotheses" ... and didn't elaborate any further. Margot did though, saying she thought she was able to accurately capture Sharon's essence without much dialogue ... and was happy with the challenge of doing so.

It's interesting ... Quentin was widely characterized as having "snapped" at the reporter who asked the tough question, but it doesn't look like he's sweating it one bit days later.

Stan Lee's former business partner was just picked up by cops after being charged for elder abuse ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Keya Morgan was taken into custody Saturday morning in Scottsdale, AZ -- this after a warrant was issued for his arrest last week. The circumstances surrounding his arrest remain unclear for now.

As we reported ... a judge issued the warrant after Morgan was charged with 5 separate counts of elder abuse out of LA County. The docs stated that the alleged misconduct took place in June 2018, but Stan himself wasn't named as an alleged victim.

It ain't hard to connect the dots here though -- Stan's team filed a restraining order against Morgan a month later, July 2018, claiming the guy had mishandled more than $5 million of the Marvel legend's money ... and that Stan had suffered physical and emotional injuries at the hands of Morgan, who was looking over him around that time.

Keya issued a statement to us last year, completely denying the allegations against him and vowing to clear his name. He said, "This is a witchhunt by his daughter and her lawyer against me because she cannot stand the fact Stan likes me so much. I will 100% prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the allegations against me are false. The truth will come out."
