Scott Peterson just got a big break, because the California Supreme Court has reversed his death penalty sentence for murdering his wife and unborn child.

The Court ruled the trial judge in the case erred by dismissing prospective jurors who opposed the death penalty but claimed they could still follow the law and impose it if the evidence so warranted.

The State's high court ruled unanimously ... opposition to the death penalty alone is not grounds to dismiss prospective jurors. They can be dismissed if they won't follow the law, but some people with strong opinions still have the capacity to follow the judge's instructions.

Peterson killed his wife, 27-year-old Laci Peterson, and their unborn son, Connor. Laci was 8 months pregnant when she and Connor were murdered on Xmas eve, 2002.

KFC is cleaning up its image ... the fried chicken chain is ditching its famous slogan due to the raging pandemic.

Colonel Sanders will no longer be hawking his secret recipe for fried chicken as "finger lickin' good" ... KFC says it's suspending the slogan after 64 years.

The move came Monday, nearly 6 months after the novel coronavirus started sweeping the globe and health officials started urging people to stop touching their faces to slow the spread. Better late than never?!?

KFC says finger-licking "doesn't feel quite right" in today's environment and it's dropping the slogan in many countries.

Across the pond in the United Kingdom and Ireland, KFC is simply blurring out the "finger lickin'" part of the slogan on buckets of chicken ... as opposed to scrubbing the phase entirely.

The good ole', finger-licking days will come back eventually -- KFC says its famous phrase will return when the timing is right.

Let's go, scientists ... hurry up with that vaccine!!!

Leslie David Baker -- best known for playing the lovable grouch, Stanley, on "The Office" -- has witnessed the rise of racism along with the surge of the Black Lives Matter movement ... and he's speaking out about it.

The veteran actor joined "TMZ Live" Monday to address how his 'Office' spin-off project led to him becoming the target of hateful attacks, because at the same time ... he's been a vocal supporter of BLM.

Leslie says much like Black athletes being told to "stick to sports," racists began coming out of the woodwork to tell him to "stick to acting" and bombarding him with other vile messages ... and he's had enough.

The actor's urging everyone, including other minorities in entertainment, to call out racism when they encounter it ... because he says ignoring it only protects the bigots and allows the hate to continue.

That's exactly what Leslie's been doing -- he's sharing examples of what he believes is growing racism in this country, to raise awareness and motivate everyone to help put an end to it.

Kim Kardashian seems to be telegraphing a clear message amid her recent marriage struggles -- she's still a classic baddie, and maybe some folks need some reminding.

KKW was down in Cabo this weekend for a beach bikini photo shoot for her KKW Beauty brand that put Kim in an environment (and outfit) we love to see. It's a skimpy pink 2-piece -- and the photogs running things had a lot of creative poses for their muse to get into. The more the merrier!

We're told Kim came south of the border by herself, sans Kanye and the kids. We're told it was a business trip/photo shoot and there's nothing like a stroll on the beach to help clear her head of all the family drama lately.

A young woman who was declared dead after 30 minutes of CPR from paramedics was actually found to be very much alive ... she started breathing again at a Detroit funeral home!!!

This eerie incident went down Sunday, when paramedics found a 20-year-old woman unresponsive in a home. The Southfield Fire Department says first responders tried to revive her, but after half an hour she was pronounced dead.

The fire chief says the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office also concurred the woman was dead, and her body was released to her family and ended up in the James H. Cole funeral home, where things took a strange turn.

Hours later, funeral home staffers made a strange discovery -- the woman was alive and breathing!!!

The woman was reportedly taken to a hospital, but her current condition remains unclear.

Beyonce is back with another visually striking music video ... and Queen Bey says it's got a very important message in these seemingly impossible times.

Beyonce just dropped the music vid for her song, "Brown Skin Girl," and it's not your typical eye-candy experience. The video's really artsy and features appearances from her daughter, Blue Ivy, plus former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong'o.

Bey says she and director Jenn Nkiru wanted to represent "all different shades of brown" ... explaining to "Good Morning America" why they wanted every woman to be filmed "in a regal light."

Mission accomplished, Beyonce and Jenn ... the beautiful backdrops and fancy outfits definitely give off a regal vibe.

The song is from Beyonce's album, "Black Is King," but don't let the title fool you ... Bey says it's important folks remember we're all in this together and there's good reason to celebrate one another.

Turn left on Kobe Bryant Blvd?!

That's what your GPS will sound like in the future because Kobe Bryant is getting a street named after him right near Staples Center, where he balled out for almost 20 years.

Herb J. Wesson Jr. -- the president of the L.A. City Council --  made the announcement Monday morning (8/24) ... saying the plan is in the works.

"Figueroa St. will soon be Kobe Bryant Blvd. between Olympic & MLK," Wesson said.

In other words, Kobe Bryant Blvd. will essentially stretch from the L.A. Coliseum through USC and go just past Staples Center.

"Kobe’s legacy is bigger than basketball. Kobe Bryant Blvd will be a reminder to everyone, young and old who drive down it, there is no obstacle too big and that with the #Mambamentality," Wesson added ... "Anything is possible."

Kobe Bryant played every single season of his 20-year NBA career with the L.A. Lakers -- but they didn't move to Staples until 1999.

Kobe is especially beloved in Los Angeles -- and there have been rumbling about honoring Kobe in this way ever since he passed away back in January.

8/24 has already been declared Kobe Bryant Day in Orange County, where he lived with his family for so many years.

"The Bachelorette" shake-up this upcoming season is more understandable when you see the reason why Clare Crawley left the show early ... this guy's bod is insta-final-rose material.

Dale Moss is allegedly the bachelor who made the 39-year-old 'Bachelorette' decide to quit 2 weeks into filming ... because he stood out as her perfect match and no other guys stood a chance.

Clare and Dale are rumored to be engaged too, and if that's the case ... he's already in peak shape for their engagement photos.

A bunch of Euros who like to strip down to their birthday suits are facing a bleak reality ... their free-spirited nudo-rama won't prevent coronavirus. If anything, it's the opposite.

COVID-19 cases have spiked of late in Cap d'Agde -- a French nudist resort in the wider Herault region, where folks roam around butt-ass naked. According to local officials, there's been a 30 percent positive testing rate ... and 57 positive results last Wednesday alone.

Thus far, reports say there've been upwards of 100 positive tests -- although it's unclear just how many bodies are on the ground there now. Usually, the resort brings in tens of thousands of tourists and visitors from all over the world during the summer months.

Here's another hilarious thing about this -- serious as it is, of course ... the local government has mandated everyone in that area, including Cap d'Agde, wear masks in public, while also limiting gatherings of 10-plus people. They're also imposing curfews on bars/restaurants.

Jerry Seinfeld has a thing or two to say to anyone who thinks the Big Apple is done for amid the coronavirus pandemic -- and it can be summed up in two words ... Shut. It.

The legendary comedian penned an op-ed for the NYT titled ... "So You Think New York Is ‘Dead’ (It's Not)," and he takes aim at a specific guy who wrote a LinkedIn article claiming exactly that, while also saying the city wouldn't bounce back amid a resident exodus.

Welp, Jerry believes otherwise in pretty strong terms, and even calls that author a "putz" who should stop waling and whining about the death of NYC. He writes, "Oh, shut up," while adding ... "Wipe your tears, wipe your butt and pull it together." Well said, JS!

You gotta read the editorial yourself, but basically ... Jerry makes the argument that New York (Manhattan especially) is resilient and that the abandoned streets won't last forever. He says there's a magic in that town that'll resurge, even if it comes back slightly different.

He also says the "work from home" trend will die out too eventually, 'cause it doesn't capture the same energy as when people are together. He thinks the same applies to NYC.

Now, Jerry isn't advocating for things to get back to normal just yet -- he's just telling true New Yorkers to tough it out and wait for the storm to pass ... because in his eyes, it will.

Alexei Navalny -- the Russian dissident who's one of Vladimir Putin's biggest critics -- was indeed poisoned ... according to tests conducted by a German hospital.

The speculation's been growing since last week, when Navalny fell ill on a flight from Siberia to Moscow and could be heard agonizing in pain on the flight. After an emergency landing, he was taken to a hospital in Omsk ... but Russian doctors claimed they found no poisonous substances in his system.

Of course, being that it's Russia and Putin -- who's been accused in the past of poisoning opponents -- Alexei's family wanted him taken to another medical center for more tests ... so he was flown to Berlin Saturday.

There, doctors at the Charité hospital say they found the presence of “cholinesterase inhibitors” in his system, which are found in several drugs but also pesticides and nerve agents.

The hospital adds ... "The patient is in an intensive care unit and is still in an induced coma. His health is serious but there is currently no acute danger to his life."

This all comes after days of allegations of Navalny being poisoned and a Russian cover-up. The politician and Putin foe drank tea at the airport before getting sick, and though he remained ill and in need of care ... his transfer to Germany was delayed, allegedly by the Kremlin.

Navalny's wife believes the delay was orchestrated so the substance would be less detectable once he arrived at the Berlin hospital.

This isn't Navalny's first brush with death either -- he was attacked by several men who threw antiseptic in his face in 2017, and last year he was rushed to a hospital from jail where he was serving a sentence on charges of violating protest regulations.

Kellyanne Conway's abrupt resignation from The White House may not be enough to save her family, because her daughter still wants to be emancipated ... she fiercely wants it.

15-year-old Claudia Conway went back on her favorite platform -- TikTok -- to bemoan her family situation and is pleading with her fans to hook her up with a lawyer so she can free herself from her family.

Claudia says the strife in her family is out of control ... adding it's so bad she's become numb to crying.

You'd think Claudia would side with her dad, George, because they both despise Donald Trump ... but Claudia says her dad doesn't care about her and has even been abusive to her, although she offered no evidence. She also says her mom got her arrested.

George has also left The Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump org ... again, it seems so he can repair his family, but it doesn't seem to be working.

It sounds like Claudia is on her way to emancipation ... at least financially. She says she pays for everything -- phone bills, hair, etc. She even just landed a new job to pay for things.

Cardi B's not wet behind the ears when it comes to promoting herself, so it's no surprise she's selling "WAP" gear in a way that'll get everyone talking.

The rapper's online store is promoting a new merchandise line featuring the title of her sexually explicit hit track with Megan Thee Stallion, and it's um ... water-themed.

To make sure her fans don't get soaked, Cardi's got "WAP" umbrellas, rain ponchos, spandex sports bras and biker shorts for sale.

There's also "WAP" t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and crop-top hoodies available ... and some of the attire features sexy shots of Cardi and Meg.

If you've been living under a rock, you might not know that the duo's hit track has been all the rage since the release of the music video -- which features a Kylie Jenner cameo -- earlier this month.

A storage locker treasure hunter hit the JACKPOT -- finding an abandoned unit packed with Kobe Bryant treasures ... and now one of the stars of "Storage Wars" is involved.

Here's the deal ... just like on the show, storage units are auctioned off if the owner stops paying the bills.

In this case, the locker was in the L.A. area -- bidders only got a brief glimpse as to what was inside -- and then the auction began. The person who scored the unit won with a bid of $375.

Here's the breakdown of the score -- 35 pairs of shoes, jerseys, Lakers practice gear, a Lakers all-access badge that says, "Mamba," tax paperwork, and the pièce de résistance ... a mink coat (we're told there are pics of Kobe wearing the coat!).

The stuff -- once properly authenticated -- is likely worth a fortune!

The buyer immediately called "Storage Wars" star Rene Nezhoda -- who has experience finding buyers for high-end storage treasures -- and Rene bought all of the contents for a cool $13,000.

Rene tells us ... the items will NOT end up on "Storage Wars" because they're not filming the show due to the pandemic. Instead, Rene plans on selling the items through a reputable auction house.

It's a timely score for Rene too ... Kobe's birthday was Sunday, and today is Mamba Day -- 8/24.

BTW, there are rumblings the unit belonged to Kobe’s former stylist. But, a rep for the stylist says, "that’s just not the case.”

Protests that erupted over the police shooting of Jacob Blake -- the unarmed Black man who was shot 7 times in the back by a white police officer -- have triggered even more violence.

A Kenosha, WI police officer was struck in the temple with some sort of projectile ... which people on scene say was a brick. In the 40-second clip, you see the cop with a few of his fellow officers surrounded by protesters near their police cruiser, which appears to be under siege and near a fire.

The cops chase off some of the crowd, but eventually, someone breaks one of the car windows ... and as the officer in question runs to check it out, something strikes him hard in the head that was hurled off-camera ... knocking him out cold.

You hear someone say he got "bricked" and then more people scurry over to condemn the cops as the officers pull the man aside and try tending to him. It's a tense scene.

The protests are reactions to what certainly appears to be an outrageous use of excessive force/police brutality when a cop shot Jacob 7 times in the back when he was not threatening and was unarmed.

The unrest is a microcosm of what's been going on over the past 24 hours in Kenosha and surrounding areas -- reports of cops in riot gear facing off with civilians were aplenty, as were accounts of vehicles set ablaze and storefronts and other buildings vandalized.

Paris Hilton's opening up about a traumatic chapter of her life before her 'Simple Life' stardom ... in an upcoming documentary that's pretty shocking.

The famous heiress describes how her rebellious youth living with her family in NYC's Waldorf Astoria hotel resulted in her parents sending her to several boarding schools ... the last of which was Utah's Provo Canyon School.

Paris stayed there for 11 months before turning 18, but says it was less of a school and more of an obedience boot camp where it was "all day screaming in my face, yelling at me, continuous torture."

She alleges the abuse was verbal, mental and emotional -- claiming the staff would say terrible things to her, try to make her feel bad and bully her -- but also claims there was physical abuse ... hitting and strangling the kids.

Paris says students could end up in solitary confinement for up to 20 hours a day, and she was having frequent panic attacks and crying daily due to the fear and misery. She says ... "I felt like a prisoner and I hated life."

Three of her classmates also appear in the upcoming documentary, "This is Paris," adding more allegations of abuse ... including being force-fed medication.

Paris was freed from the boarding school when she turned 18 in 1999, and says she just wanted to put it behind her so badly she never really talked about it ... even to her parents.

She says she was ashamed of the time there and adds ... "I buried my truth for so long."
