'Foodgod' Jonathan Cheban $20M Lawsuit Isn't About Money ... I Wanna Protect Y'all!!!

Published

"Foodgod" Jonathan Cheban's $20 million lawsuit against a Korean BBQ sauce company isn't about getting cash -- according to him, it's about keeping others from ending up in the same scary situation.

We got Jonathan in Beverly Hills, and he detailed the frightening incident that went down nearly 3 years ago ... a glass bottle he'd purchased just a few hours earlier shattered in his hand, leaving with a very serious cut.

Jonathan echoes a big point from his lawsuit, telling us the slice was incredibly close to a major artery in his wrist, which could've killed him.

He says he's still dealing with physical problems to this day, and fills us in on why the suit is so important.

BTW, we ask him his thoughts about folks saying the $20M for which he's suing is a super steep number for a rich dude like him -- but Jonathan tells us why money isn't his goal here.

TMZ broke the story, Jonathan's coming after the brand, San-J, as well as the distributor, the store he bought it from and the manufacturer of the bottle ... after the KBBQ sauce bottle allegedly burst into shards before he could even open it.

Man Sues Over Surgery Docs Left Object Inside Me!!! See Disgusting Ankle Wound

Published | Updated

A man in Wisconsin says his ankle is now home to an infection and horrific wound brought on by a botched surgery -- and now that he's suing over it, we've obtained some super gross pics.

Nestor Vega is the patient behind the lawsuit, and he claims during a procedure to treat a car accident injury, he heard a loud noise and feared a fragment from a device used to drain his wound had broken off under his skin.

Vega claims one doc told him his fears were unlikely and reassured him by saying ... "Even if it did, it should be sterile, and it's small enough of a fragment, so it shouldn't cause any issues like an infection or anything."

But as Vega claims, there was indeed a fragment of a medical device left behind in his ankle and it caused a painful and debilitating infection.

Vega's lawyer, B'Ivory LaMarr, shared images with TMZ that he says show the aftermath of infection ... and it's extremely graphic. Think rotting pork chop.

In his suit, Vega claims he kept complaining to doctors about a pain in his ankle but they brushed him off until a follow-up visit revealed the fragment lodged in his body.

Vega claims the fragment caused the infection that turned his ankle into a disgusting mess ... and he's going after the surgeons, Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, and the Medical College of Wisconsin for damages.

A rep for the hospitals tells us, "We are empathetic to any patient whose expectations have not been met during their course of care. Due to patient privacy laws and ongoing litigation, we are not commenting further."

HURLED INTO THE CROWD

The former G-Unit rapper's been in a cold war with 50 for the better part of 15 years ... and Bryhana's injuries seem to have left things even icier!!!

Wednesday's concert was a celebration of 50's debut album, and although he brought out several guest stars -- Nas, Chris Brown, YG, Tyga, DaBaby -- the party mood has been dampened ... as 50 is now a suspect in an LAPD criminal investigation.

50 Cent's attorney, Scott Leemon, assured us his client would never intentionally use a mic as a weapon but as you can clearly see, Game ain't buying that for a second.

Sen. Mitch McConnell Cleared to Work After Freezing Up Again ... Doctors Blame Concussion

Published | Updated

Senator Mitch McConnell has the green light to return to work after his second time freezing up in front of reporters, but this time doctors think they know what's causing it.

According to a statement from Dr. Brian P. Monahan, 81-year-old McConnell was consulted and the doc talked with his neurology team, with Wednesday's evaluation determining, "he is medically clear to continue with his schedule as planned."

Monahan continues, "Occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration."

ANOTHER FREEZE

The checkup comes on the heels of the Kentucky legislator talking to reporters Wednesday in Covington -- he was asked about the possibility of running for office again, which was when he took a long pause and appeared to zone out.

Even after aides walked up to help him, he continued to appear frozen. His camp later said the Senator "felt momentarily lightheaded" and would be "consulting a physician prior to his next event."

The same thing went down last month while on Capitol Hill, as McConnell stopped dead in his tracks, mid-sentence.

July's incident didn't come with a medical evaluation -- not one that was publicly announced, at least -- so, the doctor's remarks this time certainly start to connect the dots.

Remember, McConnell was admitted to a hospital and was being treated for a concussion back in March after taking a fall at a hotel in Washington, D.C.

While certain aspects of his injury weren't detailed, the concussion was a big part of it -- and it seems he's still suffering from it today.

Madonna's bike ride took her through Central Park and onto Manhattan streets, where she road down a few city blocks ... zipping around town.

As you can see in the videos, Madonna's looking pretty fit and active here ... a good sign after a severe bacterial infection that landed her in the ICU.

Remember ... Madonna was rushed to a hospital at the end of June, so she's only about 2 months removed from the illness that forced her to postpone her 'Celebration' tour.

Madonna says she feels lucky to be alive after her health issue, and she looks pretty lively on a bicycle ... she's definitely stronger than when we saw her last month ... all good signs before she starts touring in October over in Europe.

FAILURE TO LAUNCH

Tom Cruise he's not ... a Russian stuntman's attempt to jump a car from one rooftop to another failed so badly, he plummeted to the ground ... yet, miraculously, he's lived to tell the tale.

The stuntman, Evgeny Chebotarev, let the world in on his disastrous stunt when he shared video Tuesday of himself revving up a white Lada Niva -- a Russian-made SUV -- and speeding up a ramp.

The plan was to land on the roof of an adjacent building, but instead, he fell way short and smashed into the side of the building ... putting his friends in an instant panic.

He and the car fell at least 50 feet to the ground, instantly wrecking the vehicle ... but somehow, he pretty quickly climbed out of the mangled wreck seeming relatively unharmed, all things considered.

GNARLY INJURY

Safe to say, being able to walk away from that mess is as impressive as landing the stunt would have been. Evgeny showed a close-up of the totaled ride, which ain't a pretty sight.

BTW, he did suffer some minor injuries -- he's got a bloodied leg and showed off an X-ray image, but it doesn't appear he broke anything. He doesn't have a cast on and was able to walk gingerly.

Goes without saying, but don't try this stunt at home ... or, should we say, on top of your home!

Luis Rubiales, Spain Soccer Prez Mom Hospitalized After Food Strike ... In Support Of Son

Published | Updated

The mom of Spain's embattled soccer president, Luis Rubiales, has reportedly been hospitalized after refusing to eat for a third straight day ... all in support of her son as he fights to save his job.

Angeles Bejar, Rubiales' mother, was admitted to Santa Ana hospital in the Motril area of Spain, according to the local parish priest, who told local outlets Luis' mom was feeling tired and stressed as a result of the hunger strike and the controversy involving her son.

Bejar locked herself in a nearby church days ago as a way to protest what she believes is the unfair treatment of Luis.

Of course, Rubiales is under fire for his actions in what should've been the happiest of moments ... when Spain won the Women's World Cup against England. Luis was seen kissing Jenni Hermoso, a soccer star on Spain's team, on the lips.

Despite an immediate backlash, Luis has refused to resign his position, despite Spain's entire soccer club vowing not to play if he remains president.

On Saturday, FIFA suspended Rubiales for 90 days ... but he could still lose his job.

Luis' mother, whose condition is unknown, clearly believes he is being railroaded.

UPDATE

1:08 PM PT -- Sen. Mitch McConnell's spokesman says, "Leader McConnell felt momentarily lightheaded," and that's why he paused.

UPDATE

However, one of McConnell's aides says although the Senator "feels fine" now, he will be "consulting a physician prior to his next event."

Senator Mitch McConnell froze yet again mid-sentence while addressing the media -- marking a second frightening episode like this that he's suffered in public.

The Kentucky legislator was talking to reporters Wednesday in Covington, KY, addressing a Chamber of Commerce matter and seemingly doing fine ... that is, until he wasn't. When a reporter asked him about running for reelection, he took a long pause.

Much like he did a month ago on Capitol Hill ... Sen. McConnell just stood there quietly, and appeared to zone out. Eventually, one of his aides stepped in and asked if he heard the question ... but he didn't even respond to her, only staring out into space and remaining frozen.

The aide asked the media for a moment of privacy, and that's where the video cuts out.

Obviously, this is deja vu -- and many suspect he might have experienced a medical episode ... although, the first incident was never officially described as such by his team. Now, there are almost certainly going to be even more questions and scrutiny over his health.

Remember, Sen. McConnell also suffered a nasty fall earlier this year that saw him hospitalized for a time. At the moment, he's the top-ranking Republican in the Senate.

The scary incident happened on Monday ... after the Belgian star crossed the finish line to win stage three of La Vuelta a España.

In footage of the accident, the 23-year-old is shown zooming directly toward a large group of people after the race ... and a collision was inevitable.

Evenepoel couldn't slow down in enough time to prevent ramming into the crowd ... and despite a few fans jumping out of the way, he made direct contact with a female spectator.

Evenepoel suffered some damage as a result ... and the blood poured from his head as he got back up on his feet.

"I want to tell you all that I'm doing okay. I also hope that the woman involved in the accident/crash is also doing okay," Evenepoel said. "I want to thank all for the support."

FYI, this is Evenepoel's second consecutive first place finish at La Vuelta ... a race his Soudal-Quickstep team didn't want him to compete in this year.

"A first, I said it was preferable that he didn’t do the Tour of Spain," team manager Patrick Lefevere said. "But when I saw the level he achieved again and how keen he was, I could only follow his lead."

Remco -- whose father is former pro cyclist Patrick Evenepoel -- is one of the best in the sport ... and has won a ton of major championships and awards so far in his young career.

ROUGH LANDING

A pro wrestler landed awkwardly on his neck during a match this weekend -- and to make matters worse, continued getting pummeled in the same area.

The athlete's stage name is Jack Cartwheel, and he was competing in the National Wrestling Alliances' NWA 75 event down in St. Louis on Sunday ... where he was battling Colby Corino for the promotion's World Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Everything seemed to be going just fine ... that is, until Jack stood up on the ropes in an attempted body slam -- which appears to have gone awry, based on the way he came down.

Ya gotta see the video, JC does what comes across like a back-half twist -- something a gymnast might do -- but he catches his feet on the turnbuckles and lands on his head and neck.

Jack appears stunned as he tries to get up from the mat, and his opponent then clotheslines his neck, and Jack again lands on his head.

Somehow, Jack's able to continue the match ... only for him to get driven into the mat again, landing once more on his neck and head.

Ouch.
