1:19 PM PT -- Tekashi just streamed from in-home incarceration, setting an Instagram Live record with 2 million people tuning in.
UPDATE
6ix9ine trolled off the bat, bumping "Bad Boys" while toying with a pair of handcuffs.
UPDATE
Tekashi got a lot off his plate ... admitting to being a rat and justifying his snitching. He apologized for singing like a canary, questioned the street code and then bragged about his money, bling and music.
UPDATE
So, pretty much the same Tekashi.
UPDATE
12:05 PM PT -- Tekashi is proud of being a snitch ... he just flexed his ankle monitor in his new music video, which dropped following Friday morning's beef with Meek.
UPDATE
UPDATE
The video also has lots of twerking models and a cute pup.
Meek Mill believes there's only one thing Tekashi 6ix9ine should be doing on Instagram Live ... saying sorry for being a snitch and to all the people he harmed along the way.
The hip-hop star slammed his fellow rapper on Twitter Friday morning ... ahead of 69's first live social media appearance since he was released from prison and ordered to home confinement due to COVID-19 concerns.
Meek says ... "I hope that rat going live to apologize to the people he told on or the victim." He seems to be upset over Tekashi seemingly getting a pass on snitching from fans, and wants to remind people that another "rat" was allegedly responsible for the death of his friend, Nipsey Hussle, last year.
Mill's suggesting Nip's alleged killer, Eric Holder, had a history of being an informant just like 6ix9ine ... which is why he was on the streets in the first place.
The insinuation's pretty clear -- once a rat, always a rat ... and Meek's not buying into 6ix9ine's act.
Nevertheless, Tekashi's no longer behind bars for his crimes and is hyping up his Instagram Live show ... in typical boastful fashion.
He's also already fired back at Meek, replying ... "Imagine having a new born baby come into the world & be pressed about a Mexican with rainbow hair." As we reported, Meek's GF gave birth to a baby boy on his 33rd bday.
6ix9ine's hours away from going live, and a lot of people will be watching to see what he's gotta say. Ya gotta think Meek will be paying attention too.
Elon Musk and Grimes can call their newborn baby son whatever they want, but on his birth certificate, X Æ A-12 is a no-go ... TMZ has learned.
According to a supervisor at the Department of Public Health Vital Records Office in Los Angeles -- where the baby is believed to have been born -- it is against California law to include numbers or symbols in a name.
The law states names must only include the 26 letters of the English alphabet ... obviously, the name Musk and Grimes are claiming for their boy does not meet that criteria.
As we reported ... the Tesla honcho revealed the news of the baby's birth and photos via a series of Twitter replies Monday, along with the odd name choice.
•X, the unknown variable ⚔️ •Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) •A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent 🤍 + (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (⚔️🐁 metal rat)
Grimes later explained the name was inspired by the A-12 plane -- a precursor to the couple's favorite aircraft, which was a CIA spy plane used during the Cold War -- among other interesting things.
That might all be moot now, though, as the kid's legal name will have to be something else ... unless they just shorten it to A for Archangel, or go with "metal rat."
This is insane, as in, insanely dangerous -- the commute over a Chinese bridge looked more like a roller coaster ride as winds made the structure move like ocean waves.
Check it out ... the bridge appears to rock and sway vertically, almost like it's pulsating, as hundreds of cars continued to drive through. It almost doesn't look real!
Officials in the Guangdong province temporarily closed the wobbly bridge around 3:30 PM local time as a safety measure. Seems like the only decision to make when you see how wavy the road got.
Despite the crazy bending ... Chinese press is saying experts have confirmed there's no damage to the main structure.
Folks on Twitter claiming to be on the bridge during the swaying described the experience as "terrifying" and one person said it made them carsick. Winds in the area at the time were measured around 38 mph, which was described as rare by the press.
Though the Humen Bridge is a suspension bridge designed to be flexible and still remain safe ... it's no less terrifying.
Elon Musk has been way off with his coronavirus predictions from the start, but now he's doubling down with his asinine thoughts ... by urging the U.S. to reopen and be "free" again.
The Tesla honcho just tweeted to his 33 million followers, "FREE AMERICA NOW" ... following a couple other tweets encouraging states to ease pandemic lockdown restrictions, despite health experts' warnings that doing so could lead to a spike in deaths.
Musk -- who on March 19 tweeted about COVID-19, "Based on current trends, probably close to zero new cases in US too by end of April" -- has been one of the loudest cynics of stay-at-home orders and has referred to the pandemic as overblown panic several times ... despite nearly 60,000 deaths in the U.S. in a relatively short time.
Now he seems to be joining the chorus of naysayers like Tucker Carlson -- who declared on his show Monday night that the coronavirus is "just not that deadly" and shutdowns don't really work -- who want to ignore the serious dangers of COVID-19 and get back to normal.
Truth is, it's just not that easy -- or safe, or smart -- and Elon's suggestion is dumbfounding.
However, as we've reported, he's not alone -- there are a lot of Americans who are quitting quarantine to head to beaches or attend parties ... and it feels like things are coming apart at the seams.
Musk clearly doesn't believe it's a big deal -- he just wants Americans to have their freedom back ... whatever that means.
"Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" stars Kirk Frost and Rasheeda are laughing off rumors he adopted her as a teenager and then married her when she was 17 ... and calling out wannabe Internet sleuths they say got it all wrong.
The couple addressed the allegations together in a mocking tone, with Kirk saying he normally doesn't answer "stupid s**t" but felt compelled to do so this time ... probably because some people were buying into it.
Here's some background -- Kirk and Rasheeda have a tumultuous relationship history, but they've made it work and recently celebrated 20 years together ... which has been a big story on 'LHHATL.'
A twitter user took that 20-year timeline and accused Kirk -- without any evidence -- of adopting Rasheeda when she was 15, having relations with her as her parent when she was a minor, and getting married when she was 17 and he was 30. The tweet also compared him to R. Kelly.
Adding fuel to the gossip is the fact Rasheeda's listed age on the Internet is 37, so if they've been together for 20 years ... well, do the math.
Here's the thing ... Rasheeda responded to the tweet with a flat denial, saying she didn't even know Kirk when she was 15 and "wasn't thinkin bout gettin married @ 17."
In the video, Kirk makes it clear he never adopted Rasheeda and denies marrying a minor ... and they both strongly suggest their ages listed online are inaccurate.
So, it seems the message the couple wants to get across is ... don't believe everything you see on the Internet, and let them live their life.
3:50 PM PT -- Dr. Fauci just addressed the reported head-butting that's supposedly been going on behind closed doors with himself and the President's administration, and the guy sure seemed to be trying to put out the fire with a clear and concise timeline of events.
UPDATE
The good doctor was at the podium Monday in the White House Press Briefing Room, where he laid exactly when he and his CDC/NIAID colleagues told DT they strongly suggested shutting stuff down, and how the Prez responded. Sounds like Trump wasn't going rogue or ignoring the advice of the scientists -- he acted on their recommendations when they told him he should ... at least that's what Fauci seems to be saying here.
UPDATE
He DID clarify something he recently said in the press regarding some "pushback" he claimed was taking place among cabinet officials when Fauci and co. first recommended closing up shop for an extended period of time. DF says he used a poor choice of words, and insists Trump officials only raised concerns about ramifications of such an action -- like crippling the economy, job loss, etc. He says NO ONE in Trump's administration told him they shouldn't do it -- which is what many took away from his remarks this past week.
UPDATE
Bottom line ... Fauci says each and every time he and his cohorts suggested the President do something, the answer was yes. When a reporter asked if he was making these clarifications voluntarily, he got a little snippy ... telling her not to even insinuate he wasn't.
UPDATE
Sounds like Dr. Fauci wanted to put any perceived bad blood between him and 45 to bed.
UPDATE
10:57 AM PT -- Trump is not firing Fauci -- even if his retweet suggested he's thinking about it -- and the White House says, "This media chatter is ridiculous."
UPDATE
Hogan Gidley, a spokesman for the Trump administration, insists ... "Dr. Fauci has been and remains a trusted advisor to President Trump."
President Trump hit the retweet button on a call to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci -- which seems to indicate a growing rift between Trump and his pandemic right-hand man.
Trump's promotion of a #FireFauci tweet comes in response to the infectious disease expert's CNN interview Sunday ... where he said the U.S might have prevented deaths if it had put mitigation efforts in place in February, instead of mid-March.
Fauci's comments weren't necessarily a direct shot at Trump -- he told Tapper "what goes into those decisions is complicated" -- but the retweet seems to indicate the Prez took it as one.
Trump retweeted a woman claiming Fauci himself told people "there was nothing to worry about and [COVID-19] posed no threat to the US public at large" on February 29. She then wrote, "Time to #FireFauci..."
The President added ... "Sorry Fake News, it’s all on tape. I banned China long before people spoke up."
If you haven't been paying attention, Trump has been touting his China travel restrictions for saving lives -- something Fauci's praised him for as well -- while ignoring his other missteps.
Trump's next coronavirus task force briefing -- typically attended by Fauci -- is gonna be interesting.
Rihanna's had it up to here with fans begging for her new album while she's busy trying to help people during the pandemic ... and she's calling out President Trump too.
RiRi got heated Friday night while finally addressing the near-constant clamoring online for her to drop a new record. It's clearly getting to her, because she said, "If one of y'all motherf**kers ask me about the album one more time when I'm trying to save the world, unlike y'all President..."
Rihanna paused for dramatic effect before adding ... "On sight!"
The singer was on Instagram Live, and clearly more interested in discussing her efforts to help domestic violence victims -- cases have spiked during coronavirus quarantines. As we reported, she teamed with Twitter CEO Jack Dorseyto donate $4.2 million to the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles ... to support domestic violence shelters.
The dig at Trump is no surprise ... Rihanna's been very vocal about her hatred for him -- dating all the way back to his comments about Colin Kaepernick.
As for the album, fans got a taste a couple weeks ago when Rihanna featured on a new PartyNextDoor track -- and she has been in the studio working on her own new music.
It just ain't time yet. So, in RiRi's words ... chill.
Rihanna and Jack Dorsey are joining forces to send millions to people in need of safety and protection they can't get at home during the coronavirus lockdown.
The singer's Clara Lionel Foundation and the Twitter CEO announced Thursday they're sending a $4.2 million grant to the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles to help domestic abuse victims in the city.
The huge donation comes amid reports that at least 90 people are being turned away from full domestic violence shelters in L.A. per week, ever since California declared a safer-at-home order last month.
The money will be able to cover housing, meals and counseling for 90 victims per week for 10 weeks, and an additional 90 victims per week for 10 weeks after that.
As we've reported ... domestic violence cases are on the rise worldwide since the COVID-19 pandemic has forced families to stay indoors, something Jussie Smollett is also trying to put a stop to.
The donation is just the latest contribution from Dorsey, who earlier this week unloaded a BILLION dollars -- 28 percent of his wealth -- to coronavirus relief efforts.
The first win of the 2020 NFL season goes to the Carolina Panthers social media team ... which RUTHELESSY destroyed the Atlanta Falcons' new uniforms in a Twitter exchange for the ages.
It's no secret ... the Falcons pretty much fumbled its new jersey reveal -- the threads leaked a week before the big scheduled debut, which forced the team to push everything up to Wednesday morning.
A lot of people wish the team hadn't gone through the trouble at all ... with the general consensus (on social media at least) being the jerseys SUCK and never should've seen the light of day.
To add insult to injury, the Falcons' NFC South rivals got in on the fun ... with the Panthers Twitter comparing the new look to the Mean Machine jerseys from "The Longest Yard" in a hilarious video.
Of course, the Falcons tried to recover by using the famous Cam Newton quote he used after getting cut this past offseason ... even including his signature crazy font.
"#šhïñëTHRŪthëŠHÄDĒ," the Falcons' Twitter responded ... but the damage was already done.
Someone in the Panthers' social media dept. needs a raise ... 'cause seriously, the comparison is spot-on.
Twitter's CEO just beat every other big shot's donation to coronavirus relief by tenfold -- he's dropping ten figures to help, and then rolling whatever's leftover to another great cause.
Jack Dorsey made the stunning announcement Tuesday on his own platform, saying he'd be putting up a billion dollars of his own money -- which he says makes up 28% of his overall wealth -- into a new fund he calls Start Small, LLC ... aimed for COVID-19 efforts.
I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here: https://t.co/hVkUczDQmz
He adds ... after beating the pandemic, the money that's still there in Start Small will begin being used for something else he's just as passionate about ... girls' health and education, as well as UBI (universal basic income). He's even got a public Google doc to track the money that's available to look at right now. Sure enough, it's valued at just under $1 billion.
Jack also gets into details about how the money will be doled out ... we'll let you read his thread for yourself -- but in short, sounds like he's going the grants route.
Why is #startsmall a LLC? This segments and dedicates my shares to these causes, and provides flexibility. Grants will be made from Start Small Foundation or the LLC directly based on the beneficiary org. All transfers, sales, and grants will be made public in tracking sheet.
Not to get too shark-y here, but the donation -- which is an incredible thing, BTW -- is a major power move on Jack's part, and a little on Twitter's too. Up until now, it appears Jeff Bezos held the record for the biggest COVID-19-related donation at a staggering $100 mil.
Jack's billion blows that out of the water, obviously ... but it's not like these donations are a contest or anything, right? It's also telling that JD is going so public with a gesture like this after a little in-house drama over there at Twitter-land. Recently, some board members were reportedly out to oust him as chief ... but he prevailed in the end and is staying put.
In any case, Jack's cash will be a massive boon to the cause, and hopefully, help us end the pandemic for good before it's starts getting even more out of hand.
Tekashi 6ix9ine is vowing to be on his best social media behavior now that he's outta prison ... his lawyers say the rapper won't start beefs or troll other artists, because the feds are watching!!!
Tekashi's attorney, Lance Lazzaro, tells TMZ ... 6ix9ine has no restrictions regarding his use of social media, despite being on federally supervised probation for the next 5 years.
While 69's probation officer will be monitoring everything Tekashi posts on social media, we're told 6ix9ine will not post anything inflammatory and will use his discretion and common sense when he uses social media.
As we first reported ... Tekashi was sprung from prison early after a judge signed off on a request to get out to avoid infection from the coronavirus. 6ix9ine is now on supervised release in-home incarceration, which isn't that much different from the way we're all living.
Tekashi was notorious for being an online troll before he got locked up, but his other attorney, Dawn Florio, tells TMZ ... 69 will not be trolling or starting beefs online, and he won't be promoting gang affiliation on social media either.
He made his return to Instagram Sunday, commenting on a story about snitching by saying, "Coming to the rescue." A clear jab at himself, but it likely wasn't received too well by those locked up because of Telashi's snitching.
Instead, we're told Tekashi will be using his social media platforms to promote his new music.
Sounds like social is not a top priority for Tekashi, at least for now ... we're told he just wants to spend quality time with his fam after a lengthy prison stint.
Elton John has dug deep into his pockets only to pull out a million bucks to protect people living with HIV from contracting the coronavirus.
Sir Elton posted a video, saying, "Today, I’m proud to announce that my Foundation is launching a $1million COVID-19 Emergency Fund to make sure that our frontline partners can respond to the effects of COVID-19 on HIV care for the most marginalized communities around the world."
The singer, who also hosted last Sunday's coronavirus relief concert, Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America, has been a driving force in combating the AIDS epidemic for 30 years. People with HIV often have compromised immune systems, so they can be especially vulnerable in contracting the disease.
Elton says, "Now and always, I’m committed to not leave anyone affected by HIV behind. Visit http://ejaf.org/covid19 for more info. Sending love to all of our Foundation’s partners, grantees, supporters, frontline workers and members of our community during this time."
Former UFC Middleweight Champ and current analyst Michael Bisping went ham on a fellow MMA fighter, calling him "a f***ing absolute moron" for minimizing the danger of the coronavirus.
Bisping just posted a blistering attack on the fighter known as Mind of the Warrior, who tweeted, "The solution is worse then [sic] the disease. Wake up dude."
Of course, Mind of the Warrior was parroting what Trump said recently ... it's why for a few days he was recklessly trying to re-open the country in a week ... which would have all but made economic ruin a certainly.
Bisping went wild, saying, "You are a f***ing absolute moron. Look around, people are dying at an alarming rate. You and people with your STUPID view are the problem. You selfish piece of s**t. I've wanted to say this to many people for a while."
As for what triggered this ... Bisping had tweeted, "It's so sad when you hear of the deaths, when you actually see the faces of these tragic souls it touches you in a whole other way. Just saw some poor mother and wife who died at 38. Please, stay at home." And that's when Mind of the Warrior wrote his snarky, ignorant response.
Get it? The woman wants to kill herself after having to spend time with her husband?! Wacka, wacka, wacka!
Yeah, Leach's players weren't laughing. In fact, two Mississippi St. players actually called Leach out on social media.
Defensive lineman Fabien Lovett responded to the tweet with "WTF." Senior defensive end Kobe Jones added to Lovett's tweet, saying, "Facts. He tripping."
Leach, ultimately realizing how dumb it was to post the meme, apologized.
"I sincerely regret if my choice of images in my tweets were found offensive," Leach said ... "I had no intention of offending anyone."
Ellen Barkin may have been in the mood to flip off a photographer but she had ZERO right to tweet the image ... so claims the photographer now suing her.
Steven Hirsch is suing the actress claiming she posted his copyrighted photograph of her flipping the bird on her Twitter account. In docs, obtained by TMZ, Hirsch says he's a professional photog who is in the business of licensing his photographs to online and print media for a fee.
The photo in question is from January when Ellen attended the second day of Harvey Weinstein's criminal trial in NYC. She was there to support her friend and Weinstein accuser, actress Annabella Sciorra.
Hirsch says he licensed the pic to a NY outlet but never gave Ellen permission to use the photo. Ellen then tweeted the photo on January 23 -- it hasn't been taken down -- with the caption "mood" ... and it racked up more than 1,000 retweets and 15,000 likes.
The photographer is now suing her for damages. We've reached out to Ellen for comment, so far no word back.
Boxing rising star Billy Joe Saunders -- who's supposed to fight Canelo Alvarezin May -- has been hit with a suspension after posting a controversial video on social media where he talks about hitting women.
The 30-year-old WBO super middleweight champ claims the video was meant to be a joke and since apologized for it, but the British Boxing Board of Control quickly decided to hand down the indefinite punishment.
"I just wanted to make a little video for all you dads, husbands, if you’ve got girlfriends etcetera," Saunders said in his video.
Fight fans are angry over Billy Joe Saunders post video on how to hit women... pic.twitter.com/l0LCXW0qZ1
"Obviously this COVID-19 is getting very serious and we are isolated away in tight spaces. If your old woman is giving you a little bit of mouth and you try to be patient, you try to be calm, cool, but after the 7th day or 6th day you’re just about to explode."
Yeah, the BBBOC didn't find it funny. At all.
"The British Boxing Board of Control having considered comments made by Billy Joe Saunders on social media have suspended his boxer’s license pending a hearing under the Board’s misconduct regulation, at a time and venue to be confirmed as soon as possible." the org. said in a statement.
The video got the attention of boxing superstar Claressa Shields, who clapped back with her OWN advice video -- explaining how to fight someone who comes at you like Billy Joe suggested.
Video for all the women in abusive relationships! This a tutorial on what to do when your boyfriend, husband or any man tries to put his hands on you! #DefenseMechanism ! Thank me later pic.twitter.com/FaAXWkYOm6
"Hit them as hard as you can in the nuts," Shields said.
Saunders (29-0) has a reputation for posting controversial videos on his social media ... but considering this situation may ruin that massive Canelo payday, he should probably just quarantine and chill for a while.
