Lil Xan can claim he pulled a gun on a stranger in self-defense, but right now cops are looking at the incident as a possible case of assault with a deadly weapon.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... LAPD's elite Robbery-Homicide Division has taken over the investigation which could lead to a very serious felony. We're told when the alleged victim first went to police over his Friday night run-in with the rapper -- captured on video obtained by TMZ -- the officer filed a report for assault with a deadly weapon.

Although, Xan never fired ... it rises to assault with a deadly weapon if the alleged victim feared he might be shot.

In addition to cops seeing the video we posted, our sources say detectives are also looking to pull video from nearby businesses and high-rise residential buildings. There's also a restaurant across the street that may have surveillance vid of the full encounter. That could provide more context beyond our video, which starts when the argument is already in full swing.

We're told detectives want to speak with Lil Xan to get his side of the story. After that, cops could present their case to the D.A.'s Office ... OR get a warrant to arrest him.

TMZ broke the story ... the alleged victim called out Xan for calling Tupac's music "boring" last year. Things quickly escalated ... with Xan pulling a gun out multiple times, and pointing it at the man.

The 22-year-old rapper said he only pulled the gun because he thought he was about to be attacked.

The man who copped to giving Demi Lovato a near-fatal overdose -- but was never charged with a crime -- is now facing what many Demi fans would call karma.

According to new legal docs obtained by TMZ ... Brandon Johnson is facing 3 misdemeanor counts for shoplifting and possession of heroin and ketamine after allegedly trying to swipe some pricey merchandise from a Macy's.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... Johnson walked into a San Fernando Valley Macy's and picked out a Michael Kors backpack, a pair of pants, a Puma hoodie and went into a fitting room. We're told Johnson walked out with just the backpack and tried to bolt after not paying for the items, but store security stopped him.

Our sources say the backpack was stuffed with stolen items, totaling $440, and the drugs.

John Cena's days in the WWE ring could be numbered ... with the superstar admitting he's been recently giving serious thought about hanging up his trunks for good.

The WWE legend was out in New York when he was asked by Adam Glyn about the disastrous match between The Undertaker and Bill Goldberg at Super Showdown on Friday in Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg suffered a nasty head wound during the match -- and both wrestlers are being criticized for a sloppy and dangerous performance. Some are calling for both wrestlers to retire.

Cena says when it comes to calling it a career, it's up to the individual and it's not his place to advise either wrestler.

However, Cena admits retirement is something he's been thinking about lately ... especially now that he's 42-years-old.

The difference between Cena and other wrestlers... Cena is in the middle of a booming movie career.

In fact, it was just announced he'll be joining the Fast and Furious franchise -- and Cena raved about how grateful he is to have the opportunity.

Andy Cohen is blasting the upcoming Straight Pride Parade ... calling it the brainchild of absolute morons!!!

We got the TV host Monday in New York City and our photog asked his thoughts on the small group of straight men in Boston planning to march for straight pride ... and Andy didn't hold back, ripping the idea as the "dumbest f***ing thing" he's ever heard!!!"

The parade, an apparent retort to June being LGBTQ Pride Month, is being touted by organizers as a celebration of "the diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community."

Wendy Williams met a young hotshot in Los Angeles ... and now she's taking him with her back to New York.

Sources close to Wendy tell TMZ ... the beloved talk show host met her new hunk Saturday when she was kicking it with Blac Chyna during her Cali vacation, and while she's not ready to jump into a relationship just yet, she likes him enough to keep him around.

Turns out, Wendy's mystery man is the same guy who was riding with her Sunday night, when a photog caught up with them at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. He's in his late 20s, and doesn't have any kids.

As you know ... Wendy's dealing with a lot of family drama, she's in the middle of divorcing husband Kevin Hunter and her son recently got arrested for punching his dad. We're told Wendy's feeling vulnerable right now, and being with someone new is making her feel better about herself.

Urijah Faber knows a fighter when he sees one and he's got bad news for Justin Bieber ... the Biebs ain't got what it takes to take on Tom Cruise.

The UFC Hall of Famer was on "TMZ Live" Monday to discuss the bizarre challenge JB's thrown down ... practically begging Tom to get in the Octagon with him for an MMA brawl. Urijah says there's one huge X-factor -- and it's why he gives TC the edge -- Cruise is an experienced wrestler.

That's right, long before he was Jack Reacher and Ethan Hunt ... Tom was throwing it down on the wrestling team at Glen Ridge High School in New Jersey. Check out the vid ... Urijah says he's seen the Biebs throw a punch and long story short ... he ain't impressed.

Ouch.

Whatever the case ... Urijah says he'd promote the hell outta the match if TC ever agrees to the challenge. To be fair, he does say Bieber has one factor on his side.

4:55 PM PT -- A rep for Woodstock tells us, "We are in discussions with another venue to host Woodstock 50 on August 16th - 18th and look forward to sharing the new location when tickets go on sale in the coming weeks.

It's not looking good for Woodstock 50 again -- the music festival doesn't have anywhere to set up shop.

The hammer dropped Monday afternoon when Watkins Glen International -- an upstate NY race track -- terminated Woodstock 50's site license ... leaving the troubled concert without a home. The racetrack cited its contract with Woodstock 50 as its reason for scrapping the permit.

It's terrible news for fans who were still holding out hope the festival would actually get off the ground on the heels of major money issues nearly shutting it down.

As we've reported ... Woodstock 50's previous financial backer, Dentsu, tried canceling the event altogether. Woodstock 50 recently found a new partner to bankroll the project, and organizer Michael Lang has vowed the show will go on, but Monday's news appears to be the knockout punch.

The clock is ticking, and right now you'd have to say ... it's gonna be difficult to host a music and arts fest in August without a venue.

12:02 PM PT -- TMZ just got a hold of video that features Cuba at the venue where he allegedly groped a woman's breast. This footage was filmed Sunday evening at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge in NYC -- the night and location in question.

Considering the 911 call was placed around 1 AM, we'd assume most of what we're seeing here was before the alleged incident.

You can see Cuba was having a good ol' time, singing karaoke with his pals and carrying a drink in his hand. Later in the clip, you see him standing by two women -- whose faces we've blurred -- and he tells one of them to hush by signaling for her to be quiet. He also seems agitated by the interaction as the woman tries talking to him.

It's unclear from the video if any of the people around him have anything to do with the alleged incident, but it's interesting for sure.

Cuba Gooding Jr. allegedly got handsy with a woman in NYC, and now cops are looking into it ... TMZ has confirmed.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... a woman called 911 early Monday morning to report the actor for allegedly forcibly touching her breast without her consent at a club Sunday evening. Our sources say she told cops Cuba groped her while they were socializing.

We're also told that she got into his face about it afterward, and the 2 of them had to be broken up by security. Our sources tell us Cuba eventually left the club, and by the time officers showed up on the scene ... he was long gone.

The NYPD is currently looking for Cuba and we're told the plan is to book him for forcible touching. We've reached out to his attorney for comment ... so far, no word back.

"Pose" actor Indya Moore went after a President Trump supporter, who decided to fight back ... and then all hell broke loose.

Video of the incident starts with Indya stomping on a "Re-elect Trump" sign in NYC. They tried to walk away with it, but the owner of the sign, Dion Cini, stepped in to grab his property. Both struggled over the sign for a bit and then Dion started shoving Indya and another guy.

The scrap lasted a few moments until another man got in between them to calm things down ... or at least he tried. Indya reached back in to knock off Dion's 'MAGA' visor. Cops eventually stepped in and lectured Indya.

We reached out to Dion, who tells TMZ ... he's filed a police report for larceny. He says the sign's custom-made and ran him about $250. Indya, who plays Angel Evangelista on the FX show, took to Twitter to thank fans for the support and explain the confrontation.

Trump, of course, kicked off Pride Month by saying we should celebrate and "recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great Nation" ... while his administration announced a proposal that would essentially allow health care providers to discriminate based on gender identity.

The Trump administration's also essentially re-instituted a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for trans service members.

A helicopter came crashing down on the roof of a building in Midtown Manhattan ... sparking a fire, according to officials.

According to the New York Fire Department ... the chopper made a hard landing Monday afternoon on the rooftop of a high rise, and a two-alarm fire broke out. One person, reportedly the pilot, died.

The building is on 7th avenue between 51st and 52nd Streets in the heart of Midtown ... and it's a wild scene outside, with tons of fire trucks, police and first responders. The building and several neighboring properties are being evacuated.

Witnesses say they heard a loud rumble in the area of the crash ... and in photos and videos from the scene, you see black smoke billowing into the sky.

It's unclear what led to the fiery helicopter crash, and some people are freaking out about a possible terrorist attack, though there's no official word.

Kim Kardashian just revealed her latest bundle of joy, and much like his older brothers and sisters ... the kid is cute as hell.

Kim posted a photo of Psalm West Monday morning ... the first one since his birth. She captioned the pic, "Psalm Ye" ... so guess we know what his nickname is gonna be. And, yes ... it's only a nickname. We've seen his birth certificate, and it doesn't list a middle name.

Anyway, back to Psalm's adorable mug. He's looking pretty chill in a onesie for his big public debut. We know what you're thinking, and yeah ... the Kardashian is strong with this one.

As we reported ... Kim and Kanye welcomed Psalm -- their fourth child together -- last month via surrogate. He arrived at 6 lbs and 9 oz., and was delivered by go-to Kardashian doctor, Dr. Paul Crane.

Welcome to the show, Psalm! We know he's already got a manager/grandma ... if he wants one.

Daniel Craig's looking less and less like a Bond poster boy ... and more like a guy ready to cash in his AARP discount.

Daniel was out at JFK Sunday in NYC where he needed not one but TWO walking forearm crutches while protecting his bum left foot with a walking boot. The injuries come following reports he got hurt last month while filming the latest Bond franchise film ... "Bond 25," slated for an April 2020 release.

Production was reportedly suspended after Daniel fell awkwardly while sprinting and filming one of his final scenes in Jamaica. He had to be flown to the U.S. for X-rays and needed minor ankle surgery.

It's not the first time the 51-year-old has gotten injured filming 'Bond.' During a fighting scene for the 2006 flick "Casino Royale," Daniel's 2 front teeth were destroyed. Two years later, Daniel suffered 2 injuries while filming "Quantum of Solace" ... slicing off the tip of one of his fingers and injuring his shoulder, which required surgery.

That's one bad hombre.

Rob Kardashian is pumping the brakes on a new fashion line, because he's been accused of stealing a crucial design for it -- so now he's gotta pivot.

Fans of independent street artist Rx Skulls -- who is well known for a signature toothy skull design -- recently alerted him directly to a new line of hoodies and pins that Rob's own line, HALFWAYDEAD, was advertising on social media.

Check out the side-by-side comparison ... the skull logo Rob slapped on his sweaters looks eerily similar to the Rx one -- and, apparently, Rob thought so too.

Sources close to Rx tell TMZ ... he and Rob's team got in touch with each other, and put the issue to bed amicably. We're told Rx was even offered an explanation about how his skull design ended up on the hoodies and other merch.

It all worked out in the end though... our sources say Rob's company deleted the photos of the hoodies and pins that featured the skull design, and promised Rx it wouldn't peddle the merch.

No harm, no foul ... we're told Rx was good with that.

Rx Skulls itself alluded to the situation as well, saying the issue had been resolved ... and went on to thank their fans for the overwhelming amount of support and help.

Wendy Williams insists she and her estranged husband can get along for the sake of their son -- but right now the family turmoil is taking its toll, and leaving her in tears.

The beloved talk show host was wrapping up her weekend in L.A. with a Sunday night food run at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles when a photog asked if we'll ever see her and Kevin Hunter make peace. She started with, "Please don't make me cry" ... and then spilled the tea.

Referring to the fight between Kevin and their son, she says, "Stuff happens in life" ... and "Everybody's gotta grow up."

Wendy declared that she and Kevin would not let their divorce get in the way of sharing their son's future milestones.

It's interesting ... our production sources at Wendy's show say she's been in good spirits, and been great to work with since filing for divorce. But, it's clear Wendy's going through all sorts of emotions, and they poured out Sunday night.

It's not all bad though -- Wendy had some fun in L.A. ... hanging at the Pride Festival with Blac Chyna, and even made a cameo on the TMZ Celebrity Tour bus.
