Sydney Sweeney Hoedown Party for Mom Branded as Right-Wing, MAGA-Leaning

Published | Updated
UPDATE

4:08 PM PT -- Sydney has addressed the controversy, writing ... "You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone ❤️ and Happy Birthday Mom!"

Sydney Sweeney did a photo dump to honor her mom's birthday, but it's instantly backfiring -- because people think it's showing her true colors ... ones they perceive as red.

The "Euphoria" actress threw up a bunch of shots Saturday on IG, showing her and her family celebrating her mother Lisa's 60th birthday. They held the shindig at some sort of ranch, and the theme is hoedown-inspired ... with everyone rocking cowboy hats and boots.

Seems relatively harmless -- but some fans of hers are raising an eyebrow to the vibe they're putting off, especially when it comes to certain people's attire ... shirts and hats specifically.

In one of the photos that SS posted, she's alongside three other adults (one of whom is her mother, the blonde woman) as well as what appears to be her grandmother ... and an older gentleman. We're not exactly sure who he is, but he could easily be a relative as well.

Folks are hyper-focusing on this guy's shirt, seemingly a Blue Lives Matter shirt -- which has been symbolized with a black and white flag and a blue stripe down the middle.

Other photos and videos show attendees wearing red MAGA-style hats ... with "Make Sixty Great Again" emblazoned on the front. Her brother, Trent, posted these -- and made sure to note that's exactly what they said. But the fact they're being worn at all is getting criticism.

If you hop into the "Sydney Sweeney" trend right now ... you'll see some are jokingly asking where her family was on Jan. 6, and predicting that an apology video is forthcoming.

Of course, there's an incredible amount of assumptions and speculation being piled on over this -- but it's happening nonetheless. Some Sweeney fans are actually expressing shock that her family appears to be somewhat right-wing -- or potentially lean that way, anyway.

FWIW ... Sydney's from Washington state, but was raised in Idaho. Even if her fam does happen to be conservative, it's certainly not the mortal sin Twitter's making it out to be.

Sugar Bear Meet the New Me!!! Total Makeover After Cancer Scare

Published | Updated

Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson's finally ready to flaunt an amazing makeover -- delayed for months due to a possible cancer discovery -- and he's truly looking like a new man!!!

As you can see, Honey Boo Boo's father got a massive overhaul, which included a hair transplant, botox, and dental surgery ... according to his manager, Gina Rodriguez.

This was no SuperCuts job either, Sugar Bear's new 'do required a visit to Jacques Abrahamian at LA FUE Hair Clinic in Pasadena ... where he got more than 3,500 FUE grafts to restore the top half of his scalp.

The procedure, which takes individual follicles from other parts of the body to the scalp, can set someone back $30K.

Sugar Bear also hit Bev Hills for 75 units of Botox from Dr. David Saadat, who injected his eyebrows, forehead and those pesky crow's feet.

As for the new pearly whites ... Dr. Joseph Goodman of Beverly Hills removed 20 teeth and replaced them with top and bottom snap-in dentures -- normally a $35K procedure.

This makeover was a long time coming for SB ... TMZ broke the story, he started the process to get a makeover in May this year after going through his recent divorce from Jennifer Lamb.

The procedures were put on hold after a dentist discovered possible cancer in his gums.

A biopsy later determined it was benign, but a tumor had to be removed.

'Zoey 101' Star Alexa Nikolas I Didn't Feel Safe at Nickelodeon!!! Demanding Change for Today's Kids

Published | Updated

Former "Zoey 101" star Alexa Nikolas is deeply concerned about Nickelodeon's child stars because she "didn't feel safe" when she was there -- so she's at the studio's front door trying to change things.

Alexa was taking matters into her own hands Thursday when we caught up with her during a protest outside Nick's Burbank headquarters. The network's been under fire since former "iCarly" star Jennette McCurdy released a memoir about alleged abuse from higher-ups at the company.

She recalled being pressured to drink at 18, getting unwanted massages from an exec and being offered hush money.

Alexa tells us, she didn't feel Nickelodeon had her best interest in mind, and calls her entire experience there "traumatic."

Unfortunately, she says the stories of alleged abuse are all too familiar to many other kid stars.

She says all Nick stars who have ever felt offended deserve an apology.

BRITNEY'S SUCCESSES AND STRUGGLES

On top of that, Alexa says time's up for NDAs -- non-disclosure agreements -- which she says silence children and prevent them from getting help when needed.

Going forward, she hopes the company can redeem itself, but she points out Nick has yet to respond to the allegations from Jennette or herself -- nor has it announced any action will be taken.

Alexa is certain of one thing ... there's zero chance she'd ever attempt to patch things up with Nickelodeon or her former co-star Jamie Lynn Spears. Tension between them started years ago when they're were still working together, and apparently it's only worsened with time.

Alexa says it was triggering to even be outside Nickelodeon, but she was there protesting to face her childhood trauma and to help others moving forward.

'90210' Joe E. Tata Played Peach Pit Owner Nat Dead at 85

Published | Updated

The actor who played the owner of the Peach Pit on "Beverly Hills, 90210" -- the watering hole for Brandon, Brenda, Dylan, Kelly and the rest of the high schoolers -- has died.

Joe E. Tata, who played Nat on the iconic show, has passed. Joe was suffering from Alzheimer's since 2014.

Fellow castmate Ian Ziering posted his remembrance ... "Joey was truly an OG, I remember seeing him on the Rockford files with James Garner years before we worked together on 90210. He was often one of the background villains in the original Batman series. One of the happiest people I’ve ever worked with, he was as generous with his wisdom as he was with his kindness."

Joe was in 238 episodes of "90210." He also appeared occasionally on the reboot of the show.

As for his other credits, they are numerous ... "Magnum P.I.," "The Rockford Files," "Hill Street Blues," "Batman," and "The A-Team."

The Peach Pit was a throwback -- in a way, like "Happy Days" -- the diner where the kids went to hang, and it became a centerpiece of '90210.'

Joe was 85.

RIP

Charli D'Amelio Mom & I Putting On Our Dancin' Shoes ... Joining 'DWTS' Cast

Published | Updated

TikTok star Charli D'Amelio and her mom are goin' toe-to-toe ... by competing against each other in the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars."

Production sources tell TMZ ... Charli and Heidi both signed on to join season 31 of the dancing competition series. We're told this won't be a team effort, though -- they'll appear as separate contestants -- competing against one another, as well as the other celebs.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

Charli's clearly claimed her title amongst the other celebrities that will join her on the show, although her fame might be different from others -- she's gained a hefty 145.7M followers on TikTok over the years, and 49M on Instagram. Heidi also just celebrated 10 million followers on her own TikTok!

She's also been dancing since she was a little kid -- needless to say, she might make it pretty far this season. Although we've seen dance experience on the show not always translate into the ballroom.

The rest of the cast has yet to be announced, but the series has moved on from its spot on ABC after 17 years on the network -- it'll premiere live on Disney+ in September.

The social media star's already got some experience with Derek Hough -- she did a "Dirty Dancing" routine with him and his sister Julianne on their show, 'Step Into...The Movies.'

He vouched for her getting on 'DWTS' in an interview last year, saying "I think it'd be really cool to see one of the D'Amelio sisters on there. Charli's a really talented dancer and she's obviously crushing it in the content, TikTok world. I think she would be really good."

Maybe dancing is in the genes ... it'll be exciting to see the mother-daughter duo compete against each other and see what they both can do!

Jenelle Evans Not Returning To 'Teen Mom'

Published | Updated

Jenelle Evans is leaving "Teen Mom" and not looking back ... with her management telling us she's on to bigger and better things in the reality TV world.

Jenelle's manager, August Keen, tells TMZ ... Jenelle is officially NOT returning to MTV's "Teen Mom" franchise after the two sides could not reach an agreement on a contract.

We're told MTV wanted to sign Jenelle to an exclusive deal, but her manager says it would have limited other career opportunities for Jenelle.

Despite leaving "Teen Mom" behind, it sounds like Jenelle is not done with TV ... we're told Jenelle "has a new dynamic series in development, keeping the concept under wraps for now."

Jenelle's manager says the show is going to be picked up by a major network.

We're also told Jenelle is focusing on building her brand as an entrepreneur, and an exclusive deal with MTV just did not make sense for her.

Jenelle's time on "Teen Mom" was not without controversy ... including when her husband David Eason killed the family dog, resulting in Jenelle's 2019 firing from MTV.

We reached out to MTV ... so far no word back.

CW Stars Elsass & Blackburn Take Breaks ... Over Mental Health

Published | Updated

The CW has had some of its big stars hit the pause button over mental health -- just the latest examples of what's becoming a big thing in Hollywood.

Jordan Elsass posted a video this week addressing his recent departure from 'Superman & Lois' ahead of its third season ... he plays a major character in the series, Jonathan Kent. Jordan says, it all had to do with mental health.

In his clip, posted to Cameo, JE explains he's been going through it, and had to step away from his on-camera job. He says he's needed some time to himself, and expresses solidarity for anyone looking to do the same ... including the guy to whom he's sending the message.

It's pretty interesting ... Elsass says he may never act again if it means he'll be happy.

Actor Tyler Blackburn -- who's on the CW show 'Roswell, New Mexico' -- has been experiencing something similar ... which has resulted in him being absent through much of Season 4 thus far, only to have him reappear on Monday night's new episode.

It was a pretty big deal, seeing how TB hadn't been featured since June -- he's only appeared in two episodes this season ... the premiere and one other.

He took to Twitter to explain his absence ... "Alex is alive! Thank you to my knight in shining armor @MichaelVlamis and the incomparable @heatherhemmens for her insane creativity, professionalism and patience. Also, thank you to the @RoswellNMRoom and the entire crew of @CWRoswellNM for helping me this season."

Blackburn adds, "I was dealing with intense health issues that lead to, at times, intense mental health issues during seasons 3 & 4. I had to step down from filming season 4 and every single person in the cast and crew, as well as everyone at @warnerbros and @TheCW  showed so much compassion."

Seems he's back now, and ready to roll again. But, yes, he too was on a break for a while ... just like Elsass is doing now.

We've seen a lot of this recently -- not just in TV/film, but in music as well. Athletes have also embraced being open with their struggles ... notably, Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles.

Johnny Depp MTV's Callin' ... Surprise Gig in The Works!!!

Published | Updated

Johnny Depp has played many roles, but never a Moonman ... and that's all going to change at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards with a planned surprise appearance from the movie star.

VMA production sources tell TMZ ... Depp's been in talks with show producers to dress up as the network's famous Moonman -- recently dubbed the Moonperson -- and show face at some point during the award show's broadcast on August 28.

Depp's won 5 MTV Movie Awards over the years, including Best Male Performance, Best Villain, Global Superstar and the Generation Award in 2012.

The surprise appearance comes on the heels of both the recent announcement of Johnny's return to film as well as his new deal with Dior. TMZ broke the story, the brand signed Depp to a multi-year, 7-figure extension to continue to be the face of the Sauvage fragrance line.

Unclear if he'll also take home some hardware from the show a week from Sunday, but based on what we've seen surrounding public opinion ... he's sure to get massive applause.

'Selling Sunset' Scramble To Find New Villain ... Who Replaces Christine???

Published | Updated

"Selling Sunset" producers are racing to fill the void left by Christine Quinn's departure ... they need a new villain for the show, and they need to figure it out ASAP.

Production sources tell TMZ ... the folks who run the popular Netflix show are scrambling behind the scenes to figure out who is going to step into Christine's place as the bad girl, and they're hopeful holdover Chelsea Lazkani leans into the role in upcoming seasons.

We're told execs approached Chelsea about playing into the villain role once it became clear to producers in June Christine wasn't coming back, leading to conversations with Chelsea about embracing the role Christine played so well.

Our sources say producers understand Chelsea, a British real estate agent who joined the show in season 5, has big shoes to fill here ... but they're hopeful she can step up to the plate.

Other candidates, we're told, include newcomers Bre Tiesi and Nicole Young ... they're joining "Selling Sunset" for the upcoming seasons, and sources say there's a possibility producers will look to one or both to be the next Christine if Chelsea doesn't cut it.

Filming began this week, but we're told it's too soon to know if producers have their villain just yet.

TMZ broke the story ... Christine and the producers reached a mutual decision for her to leave the show and she's moving onto other projects, signing with IMG models.

Jason Oppenheim told our photog Thursday he's not stressed about Christine leaving, saying he has no concerns her exit will hurt the show.

While Jason might not be stressed, it sounds like producers sure are ... and for good reason.

'Sons of Anarchy' Emilio Rivera Busing Migrants To Other States Is OK

Published

Emilio Rivera thinks there's something to the idea of busing migrants from the border to different parts of the country ... he says it might help lessen the load on everyone.

We got the "Sons of Anarchy" star at LAX and asked him about Texas Gov. Greg Abbot's controversial new policy to send migrants from the U.S.-Mexico border all the way to New York.

Emilio, who was born in Texas, says it's actually a really good idea because it spreads the burden, so it doesn't just fall on one area to figure out what to do with an influx of asylum seekers.

While Emilio says he's trying to look at the positive side of the situation, he admits it must be hard on the migrants' families and feels for them.

Right or wrong, Emilio says these folks are just trying to make a better life for themselves, just like everybody else ... and why not give them a shot, in say, NYC.

'Big Brother' Houseguests Knockin' Boots On A Pool Floatie!!!

Published | Updated

Two "Big Brother" contestants did the deed on a butterfly-shaped pool floatie ... but it doesn't sound like their evening of romance lasted very long!

Kyle and Alyssa are houseguests on the latest season of the reality show, and they've been hooking up, forming a showmance.

081922_big_brother_kal 8/18/22
SHORT BUT SWEET

Things got hot and heavy in the "Have-Not" room -- the show swapped out beds with pool floaties on the hard floor ... but that didn't stop the two from getting it on.

After their hook up was over, Kyle jumps into apology mode -- confessing he lasted a grand total of 10 seconds.

Alyssa didn't seem to mind ... although she sounded a little embarrassed when talking to housemate Turner after.

She does, however, call the quickie a "really nice moment."

Fans went wild online after the hook up ... but some had more sympathy for the floatie than Kyle and Alyssa.
