The Matthew Perry death investigation is underway after the L.A. County Coroner arrived at his home to begin the autopsy process.

The coroner's large white van pulled up Saturday evening outside the Pacific Palisades home where Matthew was found dead earlier that day. Several members of the coroner's team rolled the body out on a stretcher and placed it in the van.

As TMZ first reported ... Matthew's assistant discovered him unresponsive in a hot tub, and our sources say the death appears to be the result of drowning. While there were no illicit drugs found on the scene, we're told there were some prescription drugs found in the house.

The coroner's office will perform toxicology testing, in addition to the autopsy, to determine cause of death, and if any substances were in Matthew's system at levels that could have harmed him.

In a grim scene ... Matthew's mother, father and stepfather were also at the house Saturday, a few hours after he passed.

Perry shared a post less than a week prior to his death that raised no eyebrows at the time, but seems eerie now -- it's a Shot of himself sitting in the corner of the hot tub at night, looking out at the city lights.

He captioned the image ... "Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman."

Matthew Perry detailed his personal struggles with drug addiction in an interview with Diane Sawyer last year -- and they even discussed his possible death.

The "Friends" star sat down with the legendary journalist to promote his memoir during an ABC News segment in October 2022 — and the conversation turned dark almost immediately.

Sawyer read a passage from the book titled, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir," quoting Perry as saying, “My friends call me Matty and I should be dead."  With a serious, yet troubled look on his face, Perry responded, “That’s definitely true."

Sawyer continued to quote from Perry's book, asserting that addicts can only beat drug addiction with a healthy support group.

Perry replied that his addiction was always waiting to get him alone so he could fill his time by using drugs, in which case he admitted, "You lose to the disease."

As we reported, Perry was found dead Saturday in a jacuzzi at his L.A.-area home after first responders received a call of a person in cardiac arrest. Investigators believe Perry drowned and are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine his cause of death. Our sources say no illicit drugs were recovered from the scene and no foul play is suspected.

At one point during the Sawyer interview, Perry tried to paint a rosier picture of his pill addiction, explaining that he "now feels OK and feels like he's got some strength." But Sawyer pushed back, asking him what he meant.

Perry said, "It means I developed some safety nets around this."

He went on to talk about his seemingly never-ending battle with the pain killer Vicodin, disclosing he ingested a jaw-dropping 55 pills per day. Visibly stunned, Sawyer asked how he could get so many pills.

Perry said he would do anything to obtain them -- even if it meant raiding the medicine cabinet at a seller's open house or going to a doctor's office with a fake migraine to get a prescription.

He also said he stayed sober for long periods of time -- but then he would get cocky, thinking, "I've got this" and "I don't need to learn anymore." As a result, Perry stopped going to 12-step meetings, leading him down the path of using drugs again.

6:02 PM PT -- More details are surfacing about the circumstances surrounding Matthew Perry's death ... as sources tell us he actually died at his own house after some physical activity this morning.

We're told Matthew came home sometime in the AM after a 2-hour round of pickleball, and that he sent his assistant out on an errand shortly thereafter. We're told when the assistant returned about 2 hours later, he discovered Matthew unresponsive ... and called 911.

Unclear if what Matthew was doing before his passing played any role in his death at this point -- the investigation into his death is underway.

Law enforcement sources tell us the actor was found Saturday at an L.A.-area home ... where we're told he appears to have drowned. Our sources say first responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest. It's unclear where exactly on the grounds this happened.

Our sources say he was found in a jacuzzi at the home ... and we're told there were no drugs found at the scene. We're also told there is no foul play involved.

Perry is most famous for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit '90s sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons ... and with him in all 234 episodes. His character was a fan fave, as was his performance -- mannerisms and lines of which have gone on to be recreated and spoofed by fans all over the world. One comes to mind, in particular ... "Could (blank) BE more ..."

While "Friends" was his biggest claim to fame ... MP starred/guest starred in countless other TV shows over the years -- such as "Boys Will Be Boys," "Growing Pains," "Silver Spoons," "Charles in Charge," "Sydney," "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Home Free," "Ally McBeal," "The West Wing," "Scrubs," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Go On," "The Odd Couple" and more.

He had also acted in a handful of memorable films (mostly comedy) ... like "Fools Rush In," "The Whole Nine Yards," "Three to Tango," "The Kid," "17 Again," "Getting In," and many others. He's been off the scene more recently ... not having acted since a TV miniseries in 2017.

While his onscreen persona was affable and upbeat, Matthew suffered mightily behind the scenes -- notably, from his addiction to drugs and alcohol ... pain killers, specifically. He was hooked on Vicodin for years -- even while on 'Friends' -- and had been in and out of rehab.

Matthew opened up about this painful chapter of his life in a memoir he put out last year -- where he detailed the struggles he had ... including his clear weight loss/gain on the show.

During his press run for his book ... Matthew did a number of interviews where he got incredibly emotional -- including one with Diane Sawyer, where he detailed his story.

While Perry appeared to be clean and sober a year ago, the year prior -- when he and the other cast members were plugging the "Friends" reunion show -- drew concern from fans ... as they felt he appeared unwell, at times slurring his words and looking a bit out of it.

On top of his substance use ... Matthew also dealt with health issues, some of which were serious and required hospitalization. One such incident stemmed from a gastrointestinal perforation -- which forced him to undergo emergency surgery ... but he luckily recovered.

Matthew never married, but he was briefly engaged to Molly Hurwitz a couple years ago ... which came to an end after only 6 months. Before that, he'd been linked to Lizzy Caplan.

He was 54 years old.

Matthew Perry seemed to be enjoying a day out with a friend exactly one week before he died -- leaving a West L.A. eatery in a scene that turns out to be the last time he'd be seen in public.

On October 21, the "Friends" star was walking out of the Apple Pan -- a popular West L.A. spot for burgers, sandwiches and pies. He appeared to be leaving with a male friend who was carrying a takeout bag.

Matthew was growing a little goatee ... a different look from the clean-cut guy millions of "Friends" fans knew and loved, but all in all the guy seemed to be doing well.

Prior to that, MP was seen on October 3, as he left a workout in Los Angeles.

TMZ broke the story ... Matthew's assistant found him unresponsive Saturday morning at his home, just a couple hours after he'd completed a 2-hour match of pickleball. Our sources say he was found in a hot tub, and there were no drugs found at the scene.

It certainly seems like Matthew enjoyed soaking in the tub. It's an eerie image now, but just 6 days ago -- in what would be his final IG post -- he posted a nighttime shot from the hot tub, and included the caption, "Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman."

Clearly, that sense of humor his fans loved and came to expect from the beloved 54-year-old actor was still intact.

Bill Maher was on a tear Friday night, acknowledging a deep state but not the one people talk about.

The 'Real Time' host got real ... it's become impossible in the United States to build anything -- houses, windmills, toilets, you name it -- without jumping through endless hoops of overregulation by legislators and bureaucrats.

BM offers a slew of examples ... a toilet in San Francisco that cost $1.7 million. He says it's needed because the people s**ting and pissing on the sidewalk have been disturbing people breaking into cars.

In S.F., anyone who wants to build a home must secure 87 permits.

And there's this ... Wyoming is building the largest wind farm in North America, but it took 18 years to get approval to START building. As Bill says, when the first paperwork was filled out Leo's GF wasn't even born.

Bill has some history here ... it took him more than a year to get solar at his house, and he let the world know -- many times!

Richard Moll, famous for playing the gentle giant bailiff on "Night Court," is dead.

The actor died Thursday at his home in Big Bear Lake, CA ... according to a rep for the family. Richard starred as "Bull" Shannon on the original "Night Court" sitcom from 1984 to 1992 on NBC ... acting alongside Harry Anderson and John Larroquette.

Richard's bailiff character was known for his tagline ... "Ohh-kay" ... his shaved head and a towering 6'8" frame. He appears in all 193 episodes and his character is abducted by aliens in the "Night Court" finale.

Following his success on "Night Court," Richard started doing voice-over work ... including "Batman: The Animated Series"  and "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" as well as some horror movies and video games.

Richard also had roles in several movies ... most notably "Jingle All The Way," "The Flintstones" and "Scary Movie 2."

He grew up in Pasadena and got into acting after moving to Hollywood in 1968 after going to college at UC Berkeley, where he majored in history and psychology.

Richard was 80.

"The Walking Dead" actor Erik Jensen has been diagnosed with stage four cancer ... this according to his wife, who has started a GoFundMe to help cover the rising costs.

Erik's wife, Jessica Blank, said on the fundraiser her husband has stage four colorectal cancer ... and his diagnosis is coming a year and a half after he survived a brain aneurysm.

She says Erik's cancer "has metastasized to his liver," but his doctors "have a shot at shrinking the tumors enough to do two very major surgeries and get them all out" ... adding how strong and resilient her husband is.

Jessica points out that Erik, like countless other actors like him, has been financially affected by the "lack of streaming residuals" over the years ... not to mention the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which has shut down most of Hollywood.

She says they have mountains of medical costs, and now Erik's facing "serious risk" of losing SAG insurance ... which is why she's asking for his fans to help in any way they can.

It seems like folks have already been supporting Erik during his health crisis -- he's received over $97k in a week, with a goal of $300k.

John Stamos claims he once caught a girlfriend of his in the '80s cheating on him with Tony Danza ... but the woman says John's got it all wrong.

Teri Copley, the ex-gf John's accused of an alleged affair, denies cheating on him ... she says they were already broken up when Stamos found her in bed with Danza.

The model/actress confirms part of John's story ... that he came over to her place to find her naked in bed next to a passed-out Tony ... but she told People she and John had already ended their relationship.

Teri told the outlet, "I wondered, 'What was John doing there?' because we had broken up. He just looked at me and shook his head, and walked away."

As we reported ... John reveals the alleged affair in his upcoming memoir, "If You Would Have Told Me," claiming he also peeked into Tony's Porsche, which was parked at Teri's place, and saw an autographed poster of her half-naked with a note that read ... John said he was madly in love with Teri at the time ... but it sounds like she didn't feel the same way.

"Love Is Blind" star Uche Okoroha didn't pass on the show's big reunion to avoid the heat, he did it because of his job ... but he's telling us why he's glad he was MIA.

Uche says the timing for the Netflix series' big reunion taping was smack in the middle of a huge business opportunity ... so taking a pass on the reality show was an easy decision.

Uche has no regrets about ditching the 'LIB' cast -- in his opinion, a reunion show isn't a productive place to have meaningful convos.

Fans of the show know the 34-year-old lawyer came off as a villain in the latest season ... but Uche says his scenes were edited to make him look worse than he actually was.

In the reunion, Aaliyah -- the girl to whom he almost got engaged -- came after him, accusing him of telling cast members she wasn't the type of gal he found attractive ... insinuating he doesn't date Black women.

Uche is calling BS on Aaliyah's claims, saying there were other reasons why they didn't stay together. In fact, he thought they were on good terms, and believes she turned on him after seeing all the negative comments she was getting on social.

Kim Kardashian was the epitome of sex appeal for her 43rd birthday bash in L.A. Friday night, ringing in her big night with Hollywood's elite and her famous fam.

KK cut an amazing figure in her seductive fire-red dress with bikini laces and cool black sunglasses as she sauntered inside posh Funke restaurant in Bev Hills ... aka the hottest restaurant in town.

The Skims mogul made her grand entrance flanked by security and sis Khloe, who also looked incredible in her all-white form-fitting minidress.

Bill Maher has an urgent message for kids who are considering college -- DON'T GO ... and if you must, avoid Harvard at all costs because it will turn you into an idiot.

The 'Real Time' host unloaded on elite colleges, which have lost their tolerance for ideas that don't check the "right" boxes.

He, of course, raised the war currently raging in the Middle East, where the prevailing view on college campuses is to excuse and/or ignore the worst terrorism since the Holocaust and support Hamas. He noted 34 student groups at Harvard signed a petition condemning Israel, and 5 groups retracted their support, saying they didn't read the petition carefully enough.

Bill calls Harvard and other elite schools a daycare center where the toddlers can fire the adults. Of course, the President of Harvard and the other schools have approached the war and other issues with deafening silence.

But boy, did BM go in on Harvard, saying if ignorance were a disease, Harvard Yard would be the Wuhan Wet Market.

And then he ticks off a list of Harvard grads, including Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, Pat Robertson, Tom Cotton, Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, George W. Bush, calling them eminently face-punchable!

Angela Simmons allegedly abandoned ship from her penthouse without paying the bill ... and now a judge just hit her with a $48,704.40 default judgment.

According to docs, obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Angela rented a flat in the Pembroke at Fort Lee Coop in Randolph, New Jersey in October 2019. The landlord claimed Angela started racking up huge late fees for not paying her rent in full in late 2020 ... and the tab eventually ballooned to more than $50K.

According to the legal docs, Angela failed to respond to the complaint ... and eventually the court entered a default judgment against her for $48K -- which includes late fees, unpaid rent, repairs, and more.

It's interesting ... shortly after the judgment, she kicked promotional efforts for her cake company into overdrive.

Angela's been dating Yo Gotti, who recently told us she's the one and only for him ... maybe he'll crack open his piggy bank to help foot the bill?

Rachel Leviss is ridding herself of every memory of Tom Sandoval ... she just sold off a necklace and some sweatshirts with connections to the Scandoval.

Remember ... Rachel bought the 14K gold necklace to match one Tom wore on the show and it ended up being a clue to their infamous affair.

Kailyn Lowry has a new baby in her life, and with it comes all the joys of motherhood ... including a post-birth beverage that's au naturel, and straight from the womb.

The 'Teen Mom' star posted an eye-popping clip on social media Monday ... showing her blending up her own placenta and pouring into a Mason jar, complete with a straw -- which was clearly ready to drink ... and we can only assume she did.

She wasn't just going to ingest her own placenta, though ... it looks like Kailyn spread it around on paper as well, showing off different art pieces she made with her uterus leftovers.

We'll say this ... the placenta Picassos aren't half bad -- and it looks like she/her fam took precautions handling it, including using gloves and other protective gear. KL writes of the whole experience ... "This was the second time I got to work with @lancasterplacentaco."

That's a company that offers placenta encapsulation services ... apparently, it's big business.

Of course, all this placenta fun comes on the heels of her announcing that she welcomed another kid -- her fifth, a son named Rio. She shares the baby with her BF, Elijah Scott ... and Kailyn revealed last week that she gave birth last year, keeping it under wraps.

Normally, Kailyn's baby news is very public -- but this time around, she says she wanted to keep it to herself and out of the spotlight. She told People, "I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share instead of being within a contractual obligation or storyline."

Kailyn has 4 other children -- 3-year-old Creed, 6-year-old Lux, 9-year-old Lincoln and 13-year-old Isaac. Her newest bundle of joy is named Rio.

Millie Bobby Brown isn't mincing words on how she feels about the show that made her famous -- saying she's ready to turn the page ... and calling it a burden on her career.

The actress -- known for playing Eleven on the hit Netflix series dating back years now -- dished her latest thoughts about 'ST' in a new interview with Glamour ... where she pretty much crapped on the gig that gave her her big break.

The article notes she likens her final season -- which is forthcoming next year -- to a senior year in high school, where one's itching to be done with it already. She says, "When you’re ready, you’re like, 'All right, let’s do this. Let’s tackle this last senior year. Let’s get out of here.'"

Millie adds, "'Stranger Things' takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, 'Thank you, and goodbye.'"

With that said, she does seem to offer a sense of gratitude for what she's learned on the show, going on to say the series gave her "the tools and the resources to be a better actor." And then, in the same breath ... another slap in the face, of sorts. Glamour says MBB refuses "to be goaded into mourning the show."

Millie finishes by saying .... "When it ends, I’m going to be able to still see these people," pointing out that nobody is actually dying with the fan-fave binger coming to a close.

Obviously, she's over it -- and perhaps for good reason. Out of all the kids, she's arguably far and away the most famous outside of 'Stranger Things' ... and it sounds like she's ready to break free from it completely. It has been 7 years already, after all ... so we kinda get it.

Suzanne Somers' husband, Alan Hamel, penned a heartfelt poem to his ailing wife in her final hours ... and she was able to read all about his love for her the night before she died.

Alan gave Suzanne the touching words Saturday night -- Suzanne's publicist R. Couri Hay told People she read the poem and went to bed, later dying peacefully in her sleep.

Hay says Alan gave it to her "a day early," so it likely was a present for her birthday, which would've been Monday.

Alan, a film producer, lists in all caps, the many ways he uses the word "love" in his daily life -- from emails to his family, to shows on Netflix, and even about "A GREAT MEAL."

However, Alan says nothing comes close to the love he has for his wife of 46 years ... adding, "THERE IS NO VERSION OF THE WORD THAT IS APPLICABLE TO SUZANNE AND I EVEN USE THE WORD APPLICABLE ADVISEDLY.”

He goes on, saying there is hardly anything in the world that can fully encapsulate his feelings for her -- writing, "I’LL TAKE A BULLET FOR YOU DOESN’T DO IT. I WEEP WHEN I THINK ABOUT MY FEELINGS FOR YOU."

He says they've been together for 55 years, being married for 46 and they haven't spent, "EVEN ONE HOUR APART FOR 42 OF THOSE YEARS."

Alan ends his touching note, saying the best way to describe the fire between them is simply, ‘US’, UNIQUELY, MAGICALLY, INDESCRIBABLY WONDERFUL ‘US.’”
