Amanda Bynes Mental Health Evaluation in L.A. ... Amid Recent Troubles

Published | Updated

Amanda Bynes found herself in police custody again this weekend -- she was just thrown into handcuffs for another mental health evaluation ... this amid her ongoing struggles.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Bynes was intercepted by LAPD officers Saturday morning after a call came in for a woman who was in distress. That woman, as we've learned, is Bynes. We're told she was taken to a police station where a professional medical unit was standing by to check her out and determine if she needed further treatment.

As you can see, as part of this process ... Amanda was detained. Eyewitnesses tell us she was calm during the interaction with cops, and looked defeated as they dealt with her. We're told she was placed in the back of one of the 3 cruisers that arrived to her location.

It's unclear if Amanda was escorted out of her home, or if she was just found on the street here. We also don't know if she was ultimately taken to a hospital for a full-blown 5150 hold, or if she was released by LAPD. We're working on getting more info now.

This latest stumble follows a downward spiral the former Nick star has been on since being admitted into a mental hospital earlier this year -- this after she was found roaming the streets of DTLA completely naked, at which point she was placed on a psych hold.

Amanda has since been released from that mental health facility, but we've heard from people with direct knowledge that she hasn't been doing so great in the aftermath of that.

As we've reported ... AB has been living alone and doesn't have many people in her orbit. She tends to keep to herself, and we're told her attitude lately has been despondent. However, we do hear she's been good about taking her meds and seeing therapists.

Of course, her on-again-off-again fiance, Paul Michael, told us they split about a week before her breakdown in the spring ... and it doesn't appear they're back together at this point.

The larger backdrop to all of this is Amanda having been released from her multi-year conservatorship in 2022. Leading up to that, she appeared to be doing quite well for herself -- attending fashion school and seeming focused and relatively healthy amid a career change.

It's heartbreaking to see her going down an all-too-familiar road after all of her progress.

Ms. Jacky Oh!'s Plastic Surgeon My Practice is Safe, 'Highest Quality' ... First Post Since Her Death

Published

Ms. Jacky Oh!'s plastic surgeon Dr. Zachary Okhah is breaking his silence, and while he isn't mentioning her or her death ... he is trying to reassure clients his practice is safe and open for business.

In his text-only post Friday -- his first since Jacky's May 31 death -- Dr. Zach, as he's commonly known, says ... "To all my past, current and prospective patients, PH-1 Miami remains devoted to the highest quality medical care."

He added, "All aesthetic procedures are performed in a hygienically safe environment to universally recognized medical standards."

Dr. Zach reportedly performed a so-called "Mommy makeover" for Jacky in Miami at some point before she was found unresponsive. It's unclear how much time passed between the procedure and her death -- Dr. Zach hasn't publicly addressed her case.

A photo of Dr. Zach with Jacky had been posted on his IG on May 30, referring to her impending procedure, but it was quickly removed after she died.

Comedian and actor DC Young Fly, with whom she had 3 children, paid tribute to her in an Instagram post earlier this month, calling her the "GREATEST MOTHER I KNOW."

As we reported, DC Young Fly honored her with an elaborate and beautiful funeral service in Atlanta.

And while there's been no official linkage between Jacky's makeover and her death, Dr. Zach is doing his best to ease any fears amongst his clientele.

As he said in his post, "Our mission is to help our patients achieve the best possible results in the safest and most medically appropriate way possible."

Published

Pope Francis is clearly feeling much better after a lengthy hospital stay, headed home with a big toothy grin on his face.

The 86-year-old pontiff was discharged from Gemelli Hospital Friday morning following a nine-day stay, during which he underwent surgery to fix an abdominal hernia -- and his doctors say the procedure was a success.

His surgeon, Sergio Alfieri, told reporters ... "The pope is well. He is in better shape than before." Alfieri also said the pope was in a lot of pain from previous stomach surgeries, and the scar tissue posed a potential risk of intestinal blockage. However, he insisted Pope Francis suffered no complications during his June 7 surgery.

After his discharge ... the pope was placed in a wheelchair and rolled out of the medical facility, smiling and waving at a crowd of well-wishers assembled outside the main entrance. A security detail helped Francis into a waiting car, which then drove him around the Italian capital to see a few sites before heading back to the Vatican.

Francis is expected to deliver his weekly prayer this Sunday and keep all of his appointments with the exception of meeting with a general audience next Wednesday.

Johnny Depp Charities Grateful for Donations ... $200K is Gonna Go a Long Way!!!

Published | Updated

Johnny Depp's charitable donations are gonna go a long way in helping the orgs he's vowed to help out ... telling us they can't wait to put the money to work.

A rep for Make-A-Film Foundation, a lucky recipient of $200K from JD calls him "one of the most generous people we've ever worked with." The org grants critically and terminally ill kids the opportunity to make short films and documentaries with actors. We're told, each film costs $25K - $35K and documentaries range from $3K to $5K ... so Depp's donation will go directly to the production costs -- i.e. equipment, props, hair/makeup, insurance.

As we reported, JD is donating his million-dollar lump sum from Amber Heard to Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society and the Amazonia Fund Alliance. You'll recall, AH's insurance company covered the cost as part of her settlement following the U.S. defamation trial.

Joe Seidenberg, executive director of Red Feather, is also super happy to put the money to good use -- telling us the funds will help to address housing disparities for Native Americans ... specifically the Navajo and Hopi tribes.

A rep for Amazonia tells us the money will be transferred to BFUCA (Brazilian National Federation of Associations, Centers, and Clubs) for various projects ... and the org works tirelessly to help preserve the Amazon ecosystem.

Depp also made a $200K donation to Marlon Brando’s charity, Tetiaroa Society. The orgs' Executive Director, Frank Murphy, tells us, "Mr. Depp's generosity is overwhelming and we are honored to be among these amazing organizations that he supports. His contribution will help Tetiaroa Society in its work to protect Tetiaroa, support indigenous voices across the Pacific, and advance ocean-based solutions to climate change."

Finally, some serious good has come out of that tumultuous trial.

Peyton Hillis Details Terrifying Drowning Rescue ... 'Miracle' No One Died

I'M NOT A HERO

Ex-NFL star Peyton Hillis is opening up on the day he heroically saved his son and niece from a fierce rip current in Florida earlier this year ... saying it's a "miracle" everyone survived.

The former Cleveland Browns running back detailed the Jan. 4 rescue mission in an interview with "Good Morning America" ... where he explained there were no warning flags near their spot at Pensacola Beach prior to the incident.

Hillis said he immediately sprang into action and ran into the water as soon as he found out the kids were in danger -- and he had an impossible decision to make.

"I think the scariest point ... was when I'm swimming to my son and I have to pass by him because my niece is in more danger," Hillis told Michael Strahan. "I knew that I had to pass him up to get to Camille first. Because, you know, if I didn't then there's no way she would've made it."

After getting his niece to safety, Hillis said by the time he was back in the water, his son, Orry, was out of energy and couldn't swim anymore ... and he was struggling to stay afloat himself.

In fact, Hillis said he saw his son's eyes roll in the back of his head ... and he began to pray as he fought his way back to shore.

"Lord, please," Hillis said. "Like, I really don't care about my life. I don't. But if we can get him out of here that’s the only thing I’m going to care about."

Thankfully, Hillis was able to get Orry to safety ... but that's when the former Madden cover athlete started to lose consciousness -- and his kidneys and lungs began to fail.

Hillis was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he spent more than a week in the ICU ... and he said the road to recovery is long.

"I don't think my lungs will ever get back to where they needed to be," Hillis continued. "Physically, it's coming along okay. Mentally things [are] coming along a lot slower. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time."

Hillis wants to use his experience to help promote water safety ... and he hopes families use caution moving forward.

Riley wants the court to approve the settlement the family agreed to ... which also confirms Lisa's ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, as the guardian ad litem regarding these estate matters for their 14-year-old twin girls.

Remember ... when Elvis Presley's only child died back in January, there was a lot of behind-the-scenes family drama ... with Priscilla and Michael squaring off against Riley.

In the end, everyone agreed to let Riley take the reins on the trust ... and all that's left is the court's approval.
