'Ferris Bueller' Star Suffering Dementia ... Family Files for Conservatorship

Published | Updated

Edie McClurg, the beloved actress from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," is battling dementia ... according to family and friends who say they're trying to protect her from a guy who's allegedly taking advantage of her.

Edie's niece, cousin and friend filed docs Friday requesting a conservatorship to take control of the actress' affairs. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, they say neurological tests revealed she's no longer able to live alone without assistance, and is "especially vulnerable to undue influence given her poor judgment and evident dementia."

Their immediate concern is with a longtime male friend who's lived with 72-year-old Edie for several years. According to docs, the guy has previously talked about marrying Edie ... who famously played Principal Rooney's assistant, Grace, in 'Ferris Bueller,'

Edie's family and friends don't think she's capable of understanding the relationship with the guy. They claim he's been verbally abusive and tried to compel her to sign documents to change her estate planning.

They're asking the court to appoint one of them -- Edie's cousin, Angelique Cabral -- the conservator.

Edie's also famous for roles in "Planes, Trains & Automobiles," "Small Wonder" ... and for her voice work in "Frozen" and "The Little Mermaid."

Kyle Richards on Lisa Vanderpump I Won't Call HER a Bitch ... But Lemme Clarify 'Drama' Comment

Published | Updated

Kyle Richards is not down with Lisa Vanderpump calling her a bitch ... and now she's trying like hell to turn down the heat between them by clarifying her "Lisa drama" comment.

The 'RHOBH' star says she misunderstood a pap's question when, at first, she was reminded Lisa wasn't at Andy Cohen's baby shower before being asked if there was any drama. As we reported ... Kyle said there was drama and insinuated Lisa's absence might be her holding out to get paid.

As you know ... Lisa clapped back calling BS and, while holding one of her dogs, referred to Kyle -- and other Housewives -- as bitches. Well, Kyle's now firing back, saying, "It would be interesting to see how people would react if I called HER a bitch."

Kyle then clarified ... "When I was asked if there was drama at Andy’s shower I thought they were referring to something that happened AT the shower. Nothing to do with Lisa."

As for whether Lisa was holding out for money, Kyle says, "THEY asked if Lisa was holding out for money to attend the shower. OBVIOUSLY that is not true. I thought that was obvious so I joked."

Fans might buy the explanation, but the bigger is whether LV does.

Super Bowl LIII Nearly $1 Mil Ticket Scam Exposed ... Man Allegedly Stole from His Mom!!!

Published | Updated

Billy McFarland and Fyre Fest got nothing on this guy ... allegedly.

A Georgia man has vanished after cops say he ripped off friends and family members to the tune of more than $750,000 in a Super Bowl LIII ticket scam.

At least a dozen say Ketan Shah promised them primo seats to see the Patriots take on the Rams, and got a ton of money up front for those tickets ... but never delivered before going MIA. Cops say one alleged victim forked over $20k, and another gave him $500k.

Perhaps worst of all is a $36,000 payment Shah allegedly took -- from his own mother!! He also took out a half-million dollar loan against the digital printing shop he owns in Gwinnett County.

All the victims say Shah promised them 100 level seats, plus access to a concierge lounge and Super Bowl pre-parties. They're all getting bupkis.

BTW, Mama Shah wasn't having it ... she's among the alleged victims who dimed out Shah to cops. WSB in Atlanta first reported the scam, and says Shah's wife reported him missing in early January, and hasn't seen him since.

Channing Tatum Moving On from Bachelor Pad ... Thanks for the Memorie$$$

Published | Updated

Channing Tatum's ditching the bachelor life by parting with his rented pad -- which might not scream "single" from the outside, but on the inside it's definitely an untethered man's dream.

Channing was renting this charming, colonial-style home in the San Fernando Valley between November and January in the aftermath of his split from Jenna Dewan last year.

We're told this was Channing's second crash pad -- he initially rented in L.A.'s Mandeville Canyon for 6 months. The Valley spot didn't come cheap either. Our sources say he shelled out a whopping $25k every month. Not quite Bieber rental prices, but still.

The 2-story, 5-bedroom crib has all the bells and whistles a single dude might want -- sweet pool out back, private movie theater, game room, sports court, dual-purpose office, and guest house. There's also an area that can easily be converted into a wine cellar or recording studio.

We're told Channing moved out a few days ago to snap up something more permanent.

We don't know where he's moving, but we'd bet his new GF, Jessie J, has the address, and maybe even keys ... if that's still going on.

Netflix Sued By Osho International Over 'Wild Wild Country'

Published | Updated

Netflix is being sued by the company that carries the torch for Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh -- aka Osho -- who was featured in the hit documentary, "Wild Wild Country."

Osho International Foundation claims in a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the documentary stole "substantial portion" of Osho's copyrighted works. For instance, the lawsuit claims the first episode alone includes 88 discreet instances of appropriation.

The Netflix documentary chronicles the Rajneeshpuram takeover of a small town in Oregon in the 1980s. The production was a massive hit for the streaming service ... earning 5 nominations for Primetime Emmys, and winning for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.

The suit claims Osho International gave Netflix a heads up in 2018 of the infringement, but got no response back.

Osho -- aka Bhagwan Rajneesh -- died in 1990, but lives on through the Foundation ... which now wants the profits Netflix made off the doc.

'Fiji Water Girl' From Golden Globes Sues Fiji Water for Cardboard Cutouts

Published | Updated

3:04 PM PT -- A rep for FIJI tells TMZ, "This lawsuit is frivolous and entirely without merit. After the Golden Globes social media moment, we negotiated a generous agreement with Ms. Cuthbert that she blatantly violated. We are confident that we will prevail in court. Throughout our history, we have had a sterling reputation working with talent."

The viral sensation that was the "Fiji Water Girl" photobombing every celeb at the Golden Globes is back -- just not in the flesh ... which is why she's suing the water company.

Kelly Steinbach -- who goes by her modeling name, Kelleth Cutbert -- is suing Fiji Water over a cardboard cutout campaign that she says the company launched without her permission. Steinbach claims Fiji used her unauthorized image holding the tray of Fiji water bottles at the award show.

She says they tried coaxing her into signing away her rights, and even though she did a mock video that appeared to be doing just that ... Steinbach claims she never actually put ink to paper on a real deal. It was all for show. Nonetheless, she claims Fiji moved forward.

Steinbach says that cardboard cutouts of herself started to pop up all over L.A., and one of those is pictured in a photo with John Legend from earlier this month.

She says the "Fiji Water Girl" viral moment generated upwards of $12 million in brand exposure, and now she's asking a judge to give her a piece of the pie.

Desiigner's gotta pay up for blasting a girl online by claiming she's a scam artist ... and he didn't even fight it.

According to new legal docs ... the rapper's been ordered to fork over $135,777.11 to Jessica Brown for damages after she sued him for defamation and invasion of privacy. It was a default judgment ... meaning the judge sided with Brown because Desiigner didn't contest it.

We broke the story ... Brown filed suit against Desiigner in February 2018, months after he shared an Instagram post referring to her as a "fraud," and warning his followers to stay away from her and her "college scams."

Jessica, president of a company called College Gurl, claimed she educates young people on how to pay for college and helped Desiigner's sister, Siera Shelby, get into Howard University.

Shelby later left school and left some belongings behind, and Desiigner allegedly believed it was all a con job ... and went off on Brown on social media.

We reached out to him ... no word back so far.

Lisa Vanderpump Claps Back at Kyle Richards 'I'm More Worried About the Dogs Than the Bitches'

Published | Updated

10:21 AM -- Didn't take long for Lisa to respond to Kyle's comments ... telling TMZ it's funny that someone with 2 shows and a business empire would need to be paid to attend Andy's baby shower.

Lisa tells us she actually met with Andy before the shower prior to hitting up Vegas. She also says where she's headed next ... making it crystal clear Lisa's paying no attention to her castmates reading into her absence.

Kyle Richards is spilling the beans -- there IS in fact drama behind Lisa Vanderpump skipping Andy Cohen's baby shower ... and it might be all about the Benjamins.

Kyle was leaving Il Pastaio in Bev Hills Wednesday and didn't mince words when asked why Lisa was MIA from Andy's baby shower. As we reported ... a HUGE number of Housewives showed up for the shindig.

As for Lisa ... she was in Vegas on a business trip as she prepares to launch a new restaurant inside Caesars Palace.

But, her absence only fueled the rumors she might bail on the show. Lisa's begged to differ in the past, but her 'RHOBH' castmates have taken notice how she's isolated herself ... and they're pissed.

Check it out ... Kyle also spills tea on any potential replacements should Lisa bounce.

Lil Wayne Sues My Lawyer's Been Robbing Me Blind!!! Now I Want $20 Million

Published | Updated

Lil Wayne says his ex-lawyer pulled a fast one -- for more than a decade -- and to the tune of more than $20 million ... and now it's time for the big payback.

Wayne is suing Ronald Sweeney -- who repped him from 2005 through Sept. 2018 -- because he says the attorney was charging some hefty fees. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Wayne says Sweeney charged him 10 percent for every deal he helped close. The problem is ... Wayne claims Sweeney failed to inform him the industry standard is a mere 5 percent.

That up-charge cost Wayne a bundle -- he says Sweeney made $20 million during his tenure.

According to the docs, Sweeney got pretty greedy ... proposing he get an additional 10 percent of all profits from Wayne's label, Young Money -- but Wayne says that was swiftly shot down.

Still, he says Sweeney even brought in outside help. In the suit, he says Sweeney hired another law firm to aid in the litigation with Cash Money over the 'Carter V' deal.

Wayne says that firm got 23 percent of the Cash Money settlement and 15 percent of the Universal Music Group settlement. Those numbers clearly stick in Wayne's craw because he says all that was on top of Sweeney's inflated 10 percent.

Weezy's suing his former legal flak for at least $20 mil.

Sen. Rand Paul Jury Awards Him $580,000 ... In Neighbor Attack Lawsuit

Published | Updated

Sen. Rand Paul was just awarded over a half a mil, 'cause he won his lawsuit against his neighbor who beat him up ... and came up big in damages.

The Kentucky U.S. senator was awarded $580k in total damages and medical expenses Wednesday by a jury of his peers out in Bowling Green. The jury reportedly deliberated for about two hours before reaching their decision. Here's the breakdown:

-- $375,000 in punitive damages

-- $200,000 for pain and suffering

-- $7,834 for medical expenses

As we reported ... Sen. Paul sued his neighbor, Rene Boucher, last summer after the 2017 attack. Paul said Boucher tackled him from behind during a heated argument that stemmed from landscaping beef. Boucher was pissed Paul kept leaving debris on his property.

Sen. Paul suffered 6 broken ribs from the attack. Boucher had already pled guilty in a criminal case and served 30 days in jail.

Now ... he's gotta deal with this judgment, which his legal team says they will appeal.

MONEY MAN

Adrien Broner says he'd LOVE to fight Manny Pacquiao again ... but isn't sure it'll happen because after he thinks he may have injured Pac-Man so badly during their fight, Manny might be DONE FOREVER.

Also, Broner shows us stacks and stacks of money ... like a lot of money ... guy claims to be very, very, economically stable.

Our broke asses got Broner -- with his buddy "The Youngest Legend" -- at LAX on his way to Atlanta, where AB told our destitute camera guy he was headed to ATL for Super Bowl festivities ... then he flashed the cash.

When we asked what the money was for, Broner said at least part of the haul -- $100k -- was to bet on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, which seems like a pretty good idea.

But, when we asked him about a possible rematch with Pacquiao to attempt to avenge his loss from earlier this month -- AB suggested he might've finished Pac-Man off for good.

"Well, they say I detached his retina, so I don't know if he gonna box again. I hope so though."

There were early reports that Pacquiao did, in fact, suffer a detached retina during the bout -- but his camp has since refuted those claims ... saying the injury was nothing more than a scratched cornea.

If true, a detached retina is a possible career ender for a boxer. A scratched cornea, not so much.

Right or wrong ... Broner's still rich.

The pad is sick ... and we're told the only reason Bailey wants to part ways is because his family is getting too big for the place (he reportedly has six kids!).

Kylie Jenner is just like you when it comes to grub on the go -- she orders from Postmates -- but, like, A LOT more than us ... as in $10k a year!!!

Kylie is set to be featured on Postmates' series The Receipt and, based on her order history ... KJ has crept up to be one of its top customers, especially early in the morning. Most of her orders were placed around 10 AM every other day for the past year, or so. We're told she placed 186 Postmates orders in 2018.

Her food runs ranged from a bottle of Don Julio Añejo 1942 Tequila to a lone carrot (more on that later).

Here are a few of Kylie's favorite places to order from:

-- Ralph's

-- Bristol Farms

-- Joey Woodland Hills

And, if you were curious about what she tends to order over and over, peep:

-- Cream cheese bagel (The Bagel Broker)

-- Matcha latte (Cha Cha Matcha)

-- Turkey breast and provolone sandwich (Jersey Mike's)

Apparently, Kylie also once ordered one single carrot from Bristol Farms, which she tells The Receipt she needed for some matzo ball soup.

Whatever she needs ... it sounds like Postmates has Kylie's back.

Michael Carbonaro Heads to Trial Over 'Magic Clerk' Lawsuit

Published | Updated

Michael Carbonaro might need to pull a rabbit out of his hat -- or from behind the counter -- 'cause he's heading to trial for allegedly screwing over the lady who created the idea for his hit TV magic show.

Carbonaro was sued in 2015 by producer Beth Einhorn, when she claimed he'd broken a verbal agreement that she says they struck in 2012, to create a show based on the popular 'Tonight Show' skit called "Magic Clerk" ... which she wrote and he starred in.

Waiting for your permission to load Vimeo video.

Best of Magic Clerk from Trickster Productions on Vimeo.

Einhorn claims she and Carbonaro entered into a 50/50 verbal contract to produce a spin-off series based on "Magic Clerk," which she says they called "TrickShow." It would've been similar in premise -- a hidden camera show where in-store hijinks fool customers.

Fast-forward to 2014 ... Einhorn says she discovered Michael suddenly had his own show, "The Carbonaro Effect" ... which Beth says is an exact duplicate of what they allegedly agreed to produce together. Einhorn claims Carbonaro peddled the show as his own thing ... without crediting or paying her a dime.

'TCE' went on to be a huge hit on truTV, and now the 2015 lawsuit is heading to a jury trial, which starts Wednesday.

Einhorn's gunning for major damages, alleging fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, unfair competition and more.

NBA's Anthony Davis Fined $50,000 for Making Trade Demands

Published | Updated

New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis is gonna have to fork over a $50,000 check after the NBA decided to fine him for "making public trade demands."

The NBA issued a statement explaining, "The fine is for statements that were made by Davis’ agent, Rich Paul, in an intentional effort to undermine the contractual relationship between Davis and the Pelicans."

The NBA says the anti-tampering rules were a part of the collective bargaining agreement -- and it specifically prohibits players or their representatives from making public trade demands.

The drama began Monday morning when ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported, "Anthony wants to be traded to a team that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for a championship."

FYI, Davis is making $25,434,263 this season -- so, $50k is nothing for him -- it's more about the message it sends to other players.
