Elon Musk is one cocky motherf***er -- because he's so confident he can stay ahead of the pack, he doesn't even bother to protect his innovations.

Elon appeared on CNBC's "Jay Leno's Garage" Wednesday night where the 2 guys tooled around Elon's Texas-based SpaceX Starbase facility and chatted it up.

At one point Jay asked if SpaceX had a patent on the materials he used to construct spaceships. Elon's response ... "I don't care about patents. Patents are for the weak."

Translation ... Elon's fine with competitors playing catchup with his creations, because he's betting on himself that he'll come up with something even better before they do.

Elon believes patents are just a buzzkill ... "They don't actually help advance things, they just stop others from following you."

Musk has followed his mantra in other ventures, including Tesla. Back in 2014, he sent a memo to Tesla staff, shunning patents and saying Tesla innovations are there "to attract and motivate the world's most talented engineers."

He had some choice words about getting such legal protection .. "[Patents] serve merely to stifle progress, entrench the positions of giant corporations and enrich those in the legal profession, rather than the actual inventors."

Donald Trump doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to pilfering classified documents from the United States government -- the Special Master has already made that pretty clear -- so he's resorting to an almost unbelievable fallback -- a President can declassify docs just by thinking about it.

Trump was on Sean Hannity's show Wednesday and said, almost unbelievably, "If you're the President of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, 'It's declassified," even by thinking about it." The absurdity continued ... "There doesn't have to be a process, there can be a process, but there doesn't have to be," adding, "You're the President, you make that decision."

As you know, Trump took around 100 classified docs to Mar-a-Lago where they sat in a basement and other unsecured places. The FBI raided the joint in August and seized 11,000 documents.

Trump's been trying to block the Justice Department's criminal investigation and insisted on having a Special Master appointed to determine what is fair game for prosecutors. However, the federal court of appeals has ruled the government can have access to the documents immediately, and will not have to wait for the Special Master to finish his review.

BTW ... the Special Master has already made it clear, Trump's argument over classified documents is ridiculous.

If Trump's last stand is the "I thought to declassify it and that makes it so" ... his case will go down in flames.

It was only after the raid that the former president said he had declassified them.

Bob Saget's former home is still on the market ... and now it can be snagged for a slightly cheaper price.

The home was originally listed for $7.765 million back in June, but the residence has gotten a price cut after spending 3 months on the market -- it's now going for $6.9M.

The late actor and his wife Kelly Rizzo called the place home before he died unexpectedly, earlier this year. She felt the home became a burden to keep after his death ... even though it was filled with happy memories.

As we first reported, the 6-bedroom pad comes with all the bells and whistles, and lots of space for entertaining.

There's a pool, spa and barbecue hosting space ... and there's even a guest house!

The home was first built back in 1964, but got a total makeover in 2003, when Bob scooped it up for $2.895 mil.

As you know, Bob died in January at The Ritz-Carlton in Orlando after suffering a brain bleed. It is believed the comedian hit his head on the hotel headboard before going to sleep.

Turns out Johnny Depp is indeed dating one of his lawyers in his defamation case, but it's NOT Camille Vasquez.

Johnny is dating an attorney named Joelle Rich, who repped him in the UK trial that he lost. Apparently, Johnny didn't hold that defeat against her, because TMZ has confirmed they are indeed together.

Rich is married but now in the process of getting divorced. She and her estranged husband share 2 kids.

Rich was not part of the Virginia trial team that beat Amber Heard, but she was present in court for "support," this according to Us Weekly which broke the story.

Lots of folks who followed the Virginia trial were convinced ... Johnny and Camille were together, something that angered Camille who called the speculation "sexist."

As for Rich, she's a UK lawyer. Her bio says she "works to defend [clients'] reputations against false and defamatory allegations in print, online, and on social media." It goes on to say she has "particular expertise in protecting individuals' privacy from unwarranted intrusion and media attention."

A 35-year-old virgin is lookin' for love, so naturally she went on a dating show hoping to lose her, umm ... status -- but never assume a happy ending. Yes, that's a double entendre.

Sonali Chandra decided to try to find her Mr. Right by appearing on Lifetime's "5 Guys A Week" ... where she got to live with, and date, 5 different men, eliminating them as the days go on. Pretty good odds for her, you'd think.

Sonali admits her dad didn't allow her to date while growing up in a strict Indian household -- which explains why she's made it to her mid-30s without going all the way.

As you know, there've been lots of breakup rumors swirling around for a while now. Folks suspected their relationship was on the rocks, especially after the Venice Film Festival earlier this month, where they hardly interacted.

Kanye West says he's fighting to be heard as a parent since splitting from Kim Kardashian ... but he's also apologizing for the headaches he's caused her up to this point.

The artist was candid about his co-parenting struggles when he told Linsey Davis on 'GMA' his ability to have a voice in the relationship with Kim -- once they divorced -- was something for which he fought.

He recalls his time butting heads with Kim about what kind of clothes their kids can wear -- even saying it feels similar to his recent battles with Gap and Adidas.

As you know, Kanye pulled the plug on his partnership with Gap last week, claiming the company double-crossed him with empty promises.

Adam Levine isn't putting down the mic while he's in hot water over a DM mess -- he's still stepping into the spotlight on stage ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us ... the singer is still scheduled to perform early next month with his band, Maroon 5, at The Shaquille O'Neal Foundation's annual fundraising gala, "The Event" in Vegas.

The gig is set to go down Oct. 1 at the MGM Grand, and we're told the show will go on -- even now, with Adam's relationship status in the headlines amid a DM scandal. Our sources tell us there will be no red carpet at the event, similar to last year, so Adam won't be grilled by reporters.

Not just that, but our sources tell us Adam is also going to forge ahead with other professional commitments he's already made -- and that would seem to include his M5 world tour, with stops all over Asia through the end of the year, as well as one final NYE show in Palm Springs.

It's interesting, considering the drama has now ballooned even beyond what was originally alleged. It all started with one woman claiming she had an affair with Adam, which he denied. She offered up DMs suggesting he wanted to name his unborn kid after her.

Although Adam denied being physically involved, he did cop to sending flirtatious messages and also expressed regret, while noting he's working it out with his wife, Behati Prinsloo.

More women have come forward with claims he was DM'ing them as well -- including some famous ladies alleging he attempted to DM them.

Adam and Behati were photographed together this week, but it's unclear where things stand between them.

At any rate, AL's plowing ahead with his frontman duties.

The grocery store clerk charged with smacking Rudy Giuliani on the back won't even receive a slap on the wrist ... if he keeps his nose clean for the next 6 months.

Daniel Gill appeared in an NYC courtroom Wednesday for allegedly roughing up ol' Rudy in a ShopRite on Staten Island, where Gill was working at the time in June. He was charged with felony assault, menacing and harassment.

Prosecutors recommended an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, and Gill gladly took it. The ACD only requires him to stay out of trouble for 6 months for his case to be dismissed and expunged from his record. Gill must also steer clear of Rudy per a protection order issued by the judge, but he will NOT have to plead guilty to a crime as a part of a deal.

The D.A.'s Office said they would have had a tough time proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Gill had intended to physically harm Rudy, so the ACD was their best option.

As we reported, Gill spotted Rudy milling about the ShopRite and came up behind him, calling him a "scumbag" and slapping him on the back. Video of the alleged assault surfaced, sparking an online debate over whether Donald Trump's former attorney was really smacked.

Rudy complained he was almost knocked over by the blow and could have been killed, but many were skeptical, including some in law enforcement.

A man is suing skateboarding star Nyjah Huston -- after he says the 27-year-old X Games athlete beat him up during an altercation in Los Angeles earlier this summer.

Alexander Pou filed the lawsuit Wednesday -- alleging the incident happened back on June 6 after Huston and a friend went to Pou's house to retrieve an item they had left the night before.

In the suit, obtained by TMZ Sports, Pou alleges he tried to help Huston find the item ... but when their search was unsuccessful, the skateboarder "became verbally abusive."

Pou claims Huston then "suddenly and without warning" began attacking him, causing injuries.

To make matters worse, Pou says as Huston got in his friend's car to leave the scene -- the friend tried to run him over ... all while Huston "continued to verbally assault" Pou.

Pou is suing for unspecified damages.

This is not the first time Huston has faced a lawsuit alleging he got violent with somebody ... back in 2017, a man claimed the skater broke his nose in a fight at a house party.

American actor, singer and songwriter Lucas Grabeel was just 21 years old when he was first cast as Ryan Evans -- the enthusiastic singer, dancer and Sharpay's twin brother -- in Disney's "High School Musical" back in 2006.

Commuters in Hernando County must have been buzzing hard Wednesday morning about the traffic jam caused by the 18-wheelers colliding and opening up a trailer's payload full of cases upon cases of the ol' silver bullets.

According to Highway Patrol, the beer man was the last truck in a chain reaction accident involving a total of 5 vehicles. As you can see the suds nearly completely covered the 2-lane highway and snarled traffic for hours.

The interstate was reopened by the afternoon, though ... once a bunch of fraternity bros rallied with beer bongs to remove all the debris!!!

We kid. A regular highway clean-up crew got the job done, but our money woulda been on the frat bros.

Tiffany Haddish says she's without a single job after being accused of molestation -- even though a lawsuit alleging that has been dismissed.

We got the comedian/actress Wednesday at LAX, and talked with her about Jane Doe dropping her claim TH and Aries Spears allegedly roped her and her brother into inappropriate sexual skits as children ... with an about-face statement to boot.

While it could certainly be viewed as Tiffany clearing her name, it doesn't seem she sees it that way -- because she tells our photog she's lost everything in the wake of this.

Another photog asked how she was feeling now that the saga is over ... and she said she was relieved -- noting her main concern here was the actual accuser herself, as well as her brother.

As for Aries ... Tiffany is clearly creating distance, saying she doesn't speak for him -- nor does she affiliate with him anymore.

The photog also asks if she's worried more people might come after her with allegations, and she seems defiant ... telling him if anyone does, whatever they might say is fake.

You'll recall ... Tiffany and Aries were accused of including these kids in filmed sketches -- one in which Tiffany allegedly had the girl imitate fellatio on a sandwich and another in which her brother was allegedly the subject of a pedophile's fantasy, played by Aries.

Looks like Adam Levine and his wife are on the same page when it comes to weathering the storm of cheating allegations -- they're already laughing together, even as more women come forward.

Behati Prinsloo had a big smile on her face as she and Adam were out and about Wednesday in Montecito, CA. At one point, Adam was holding her hand, and there's really no apparent sign of tension between them.

This comes the day after the Maroon 5 frontman admitted he "crossed the line" by communicating online with multiple women. He denies there were any physical affairs with the women -- something at least one of them, Sumner Stroh, disputes.

Adam also said he and Behati would get through this together, and there's plenty of evidence that's exactly what they're doing.

Aside from the PDA, both are still wearing their wedding bands, and her baby bump is just barely visible. Remember, Behati and Adam just announced a couple weeks ago she's pregnant with their third child.

Queen Elizabeth's funeral doesn't hold a candle to Princess Diana's when it comes to TV ratings -- in the U.S. and the UK -- but the reality is it's kinda hard to compare the events.

Indeed ... the TV ratings for QE2's burial ceremony Monday are in, and they pale in comparison to how many folks watched Diana's service in 1997 ... drastically so when it comes to us Yankees.

The Nielsen numbers are striking ... an average of 11.4 million viewers watched the Queen's state funeral -- this next to the 33.2 million people who watched Diana's funeral more than 2 decades ago in the States.

It was a little closer among the British -- about 27 million British people watched the monarch's final send-off, slightly less than the 32 million who tuned in for Di.

The one thing that's not accounted for here with the Queen's figures is that her procession was being live streamed across various digital platforms, and those numbers don't count in the Nielsen ratings. So, it's quite possible she did have a bigger raw number of worldwide viewers.

It's also unfair to compare just about ANY TV program today to one from 25 years ago ... the advent of streaming services has dramatically lowered TV ratings for even the biggest shows. And, ya can't ignore the facts surrounding both women's deaths -- Diana died in the prime of her life in a tragic car accident, as compared to the Queen ... who, while being widely beloved, was also 96 years old.

Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland's separation might already be undone just days after they publicly announced their split -- 'cause the (ex-?) couple had quite a night together.

The 'Pitch Perfect' star was seen grabbing dinner with her estranged hubby Tuesday night in L.A. -- with their dog, Charlie, in tow -- and seemed more than chummy in the meetup. Paps got photos of them chatting it up inside the restaurant and looking cordial.

The biggest sign they're perhaps back on again, though, is the fact Tyler swung by Brittany's place afterward ... and we're told he was let in, only to end up sleeping over.

The next morning, they were once again photographed together ... this time grabbing some coffee in the neighborhood. BS was in a new outfit, TS was in the same clothes from the night before -- including a hoodie that he was wearing over his head.
